I stayed at Mombasa Backpackers on three separate occasions over a period of a few months while working nearby in Tanzania, and each time was a pleasure. The building is excellent: big enough to provide plenty of spaces for relaxing and hanging out, but not so big as to become bewildering. The verandah is the perfect place to pass a...

Great facilities incl. pool. The kitchen serves proper meals, princing is good. Located approching. 7 mins walking from supermarket, 10 mins from Matatu stop into Mombasa (20 mins ride). 24/7 guard. Recommends single occupancy - you get a fan all to yourelf instead of sharing wit 5 others. Friendly staff, big thanx to Nasim and Harrison.

Mombasa Backpackers is like a resort, but low budget. They have a great selection of beer to decent prices, a pool if you fancy a swim in the heat (Beware that they use some chemicals that turn your hair green if you have blond dyed hair. Who said punk was dead, eh?) and a resturant with a good selection of...

We booked to stay at Mombasa Backpackers for two nights on a short break last weekend. We arrived hot and tired in the early afternoon on Saturday having taken the night train from Nairobi and we were pleased that the room was ready for us, that we could order a light lunch and that there was a great selection of...

There are this kind of fantastic place which are so cool that they make you cancel a Kenyan safari….even if you're just 250 km away from the park. That place is called Mombasa BackPackers ! After a fews days of work in Nairobi I decided to take some days off to chill-out in a friendly place. Web site looked appealing....

The Mombasa Backpackers is conveniently situated in the hub of Nyali within close access to the beach, shopping centres, restaurants, bars, a 24 hour medical centre, kite surfing and water-sports/diving centre. It is also near to the main road making those trips to old town for some cultural excursions and discoveries effortless. The food is great value for money and...

I highlyb recomend this place with it's pleasant "easy-going" atmosphere . The lovely food, if you are too lazy to cook for yourself, BBQ-nights, great pool and cozy chill-out area.. And don't forget nice chats with well traveled owner and staff. It is close enough to Mombasa downtown to be in a short time in between a colorful and extrem...

There are some good elements to this place: there is a pool which is the cleanest place in the hostel; there is a movie room with a good selection of movies; the price is manageable albeit not cheap; a place to meet other people who aren't really the intrepid type. Ok. Bad points: if you don't want to be kept...

I found this Hostel had friendly people, great for chilling or for a drink or two. It was wonderful for meeting travel companions or if you like sticking by your lonesome, that works too. Good location and a wonderful break from all the other cheap accommodation around East Africa. Super chilled and laid back, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.
