It is a universal truth not to be denied that the Opposite House is Beijing's hippest and coolest hotel. The dash and edge are equally undeniable, from its external aspect to the soaring interior public space. The latter is almost a temple to post-post-post architectural and design modernism. That is to say, the taste and indulgence are there, the pared-down...

I stayed at the Opposite House twice - once in July and once in Sept. This is a combined review of both stays. As an expat living in Northern China, staying at the Opposite House is a very welcome oasis. The lobby is extremely tasteful with great sculptures - a nice change from the usual golden walls, marble and chandeliers...

Stilish, cool, at higher floors you can open all curtains and feel in a swimming pool. Free minibar and wifi, careful service, a lot of inroom amenities, huge shower, nice location. Pool perhaps too cold and not enough lights. Perfection will be when staff at reception will get more experienced (on check out we discovered that we had been charged...

I was about to travel to North Korea via Beijing and I wanted a hotel which would be an oasis at both ends of the journey. The Opposite House Hotel proved to be that and more. From every door person to the management staff, hospitality and gracious service to the utmost was there. When I needed a sim card for...

Spent two nights at the hotel - I saw all the pros about this hotel left by other reviewers. However, I also recommend to understand carefully about this hotel's styles and operation concepts which may make some visitors uncomfortable. Private observation: Not recommend for the first time tourists in Beijing and family groups. Worst: Concierge staff should have more knowledge,...

I will not repeat what everyone else said -- yes, this is ***** luxury, down to the control manual next to the bed that lifts up two sets of curtains and alights whatever area of the room you'd like with the touch of a finger. BUT...the coffee came in what looked like a starbucks thermos, the architecture was nice and...

This is a very cool, design astute, hotel. I'm not a design expert, but Opposite House hits the right notes for clean lines, spacious spaces and attention to detail. The restaurant is great, service is warm and helpful, pool is very cool (though indoors; I guess given the Beijing smog, which we mostly avoided, it is rare to find outdoor...

Just completed a five-night stay at this beautiful hotel with excellent rooms and wonderful service. Strategically located in a nice area full of restaurants and bars, though slightly away from the tourist center.

A lot of posts have mentioned how great the opposite is and I shall not repeat them again except to say this is perhaps the next hotel apart from Park Hyatt Seoul that I am truly impressed with. Here in Beijing on business and though it is not a business hotel per se, it is a thoughtful and efficient hotel...

I love this hotel. Rooms are huge, furnished with Japanese design (I particularly loved the huge bath tub with a view). Excellent services, free wifi, free mini bar, customer service is fantastic with plenty of recommendations for food and shopping. Breakfast at the cafe' is western syle, with home made jams and breads. Every night they leave a little present...
