Hilton Beijing Wangfujing receives accolades for its enviable location, allowing guests to explore Beijing's attractions with ease. The hotel's rooms, celebrated for their size and cleanliness, offer a haven for guests, although opinions on their aesthetics and upkeep vary, with a few pointing out the need for a decor refresh. Service at the hotel is typically seen as warm and efficient, despite occasional communication hurdles. While the atmosphere and amenities are generally appreciated, views on the hotel's value for money and breakfast offerings are mixed.

Our room was absolutely massive, with a separate dressing area, toilet cubicle, shower room, and a very spacious room that contained a free standing bath and basin - all of which was newly updated, and had sliding doors which opened on to the main bedroom. However, the main bedroom itself was very dated, with a very old-style mirrored drinks wardrobe (but including a fridge with water and soft drinks, plus kettle), and a desk with connections for fax/modem etc! However, despite being old, it was all spotlessly clean, with housekeeping keeping everything perfectly tidy and replenishing water and toiletries. The bed was big and comfy, and a plug in power unit provided USB points. The room was a bit warm for my liking even when the aircon was set on the lowest setting, but it was bearable. We had actually booked a twin king room, but got a toom with a single king plus sofa, but we were able to check in early, so didn't grumble!

Staff were friendly, and most spoke reasonable English.

Breakfast had a very wide selection for many nationalities, but I was slightly disappointed with the quality compared with other Hiltons - the bakery items in particular seemed very stale, and with very limited selection.

Location was perfect and easy to walk to the Forbidden City, and main shopping district and many restaurants on the doorstep, including in the neighbouring apm shopping centre. Dengshikou subway station was less than a 10 minute stroll, while Wangfujing station was also easily walkable.

In terms of location, Wangfujing is Beijing’s key shopping area with vibes very similar to Times Square in New York, Oxford Street in London and Boulevard Haussmann in Paris.

In fact, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing Hotel is within 200 yards of Apple Store on one side and Waldorf Astoria Beijing Hotel on the other. It is unmistakably American in style except that the Executive Lounge here is much better in that it offers the usual generous club benefits outside North America to Hilton Honors members with status.

Rooms are very large by European standard - probably over 50% larger than the same category of rooms in, say, Hilton Hague Hotel or Hilton Paris Opera Hotel (both are excellent too). Hilton Wangfujing looks like it has been recently renovated.

The breakfast spread is reasonably good but the restaurant breakfast service staff could be more diligent. For dinner, the in-house Chinese Restaurant is surprisingly good in terms of service, quality of food, ambience and price. I particularly like the upscale bright modern Chinese design of the restaurant and the beautiful contemporary table setting. The Peking Duck is divine here, especially when you see more staff per duck to look after you.

I initially had some minor issues with the hotel but they were quickly dealt with professionally by their senior management - thanks to Ms Ivanka Zhang.

The overall hotel experience is very good. I would recommend Hilton Beijing Wangfujing Hotel.

We stayed here for 6 nights for our family vacation in Beijing. It was overall a very pleasant experience.
The location couldn't be better - it is around 25 min walk to Forbidden City entrance. It sounds far, but due to traffic control, the hotel is just beside the closest Jinyuhutong metro station, which means you need to walk 25min to Forbidden City entrance anymore (taxi will bring you a bit closer but the the traffic congestion will cost you more time). The Wangfujing shopping street is just right out the door, where you can get some good food and souvenir. It is also very easy to get a taxi/web hailing car to other sights in Beijing.
The check-in staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting us to upgrade our booking to the suite, which offers a splendid view to the east, including the tallest skyscrape in Beijing - China Zun.
The room is well equipped, spacious, and pristine clean. The cleaning staff were very helpful for our needs of cleaning, laundry and amenities.
I enjoyed the happy hour 6-8pm in the lounge, with a decent selection of wine and liquor and a pretty amazing view of Tian'anmen.
Highly recommended!

The hotel is centrally located next to a lovely mall. The rooms are very spacious, but could do with a little more lighting. There is a separate bath and shower, although the bath is situated in the large shower room. There is a very spacious area to hang your clothing which was great.
The room service menu is very poor, and should be way better, and no where near the usual Hilton standard. Also, there is very little seating space in the reception, only one couch and two chairs. One morning that was fully occupied, so I decided to sit in the coffee restaurant, but was quickly asked to leave by a waitress if I was only looking for a seat, even though it was completely empty at the time.
The reception staff are very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is great with lovely service.

Do not be fooled by the photos. The hotel is very very dated. The rooms are practically falling apart. The cupboard holding the minibar cannot be closed properly and seemed like could fall apart any moment. The electrical sockets have also seen better days. The bathroom door cannot be closed properly with a slight gap between the sliding doors. Breakfast spread is nothing to shout about. The hotel is also not strict with the non-smoking policy. Many rooms stank of cigarette smoke and yet when you tell them it is smelly, they can say it is not (made me super agitated). Another thing about smells, the moment you enter the hotel lobby, there is this old musty smell that tells you the age of the place. There is also no air-condition in the room which makes the room really warm at night. They claimed that it is the City Govt policy and asked us to open the window. But the window can only be opened about 1.5 inches and does not help at all. For a family who likes to sleep at cool temp, this was quite a torture and nearly made us change hotel. The only thing that stopped us from changing was the disruption to our itinerary and we are short of time. The only saving grace throughout my 5-day-4-night stay is the staff. Most of them try their best to assist and help, especially the aunties from housekeeping and bell hop at the concierge. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. My family is really disappointed as we expected much more from a reputable international hotel chain.

Response from Sherry Zhou, Other at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing
Responded 7 Jan 2025
Dear Valued Guest, Greetings from Hilton Beijing Wangfujing and we would like to personally extend you our most sincere gratitude for taking your time to reply to our survey and share your feedback about your recent experience with us, which unfortunately this time it wasn't the most pleasant. First of all, we deeply realized our Facilities may a bit of old. Our Hotel has been open for more than ten years, some Facilities or Equipment are showing a sense of age. We have strengthened the daily maintenance, soft renovation plan which was delayed by the pandemic also gradually proceeding in phases... Your kind understanding in this matter would be most appreciated! Furthermore, we noted you may feel a bit of hot during your stay. Recently, there has been a significant variation and difference in temperatures in Beijing, especially with higher temperatures during the day, which leads to higher indoor temperatures at night. Due to Hotel applied City Centralized cooling/heating system, the cold air units cannot be activated in winter, therefore we fully understand that guests may sometimes feel very hot in their rooms. In such cases, we generally suggest that guests open windows for ventilation or use a separate air cooler to help regulate the indoor temperature. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences and disappointment that have brought to you while you stay with us. We hope you will reconsider us on your next visit to Beijing and we look forward to welcome you back soon. Meanwhile, should you have any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact with us.

Amazing service and large comfortable rooms. We recently stayed here for 2 nights and booked 3 rooms for us and extended family. Emily at check-in made the process very efficient and also proactively applied our Diamond benefits for room upgrade and lounge access. Aimee and team at the lounge went above and beyond to help us special order menu items for our child and also helped us retrieve a bag of valuables when we had left in a hurry. Super honest and wonderful service. As a final bonus, the heated pool temperature was the most comfortable out of all our China hotel stays. Would 100% recommend this hotel for its wonderful staff and convenient location.

This hotel is in a really great location - walking distance to the Forbidden City and Wangfunjing shopping district. Also close to multiple metro stations, and Beijing is easy to navigate by subway. The staff is responsive and efficient - they even responded to multiple emails about my travels before I arrived in Beijing and helped me set up some of my sightseeing. The rooms are very large and clean and comfortable. The only problem I had was the WiFi, which was almost impossible to use at certain times. It worked well early in the morning (before 7a.m.), likely because there was less traffic. So I just got up early, did my emails in the morning, and then didn't bother logging in much for the rest of the day. WiFi was spotty at many places I stayed in China, so I am not sure if this was entirely the Hilton's fault, but it was notable.

Really nice hotel in a great location about 20 mins walk from the Summer Palace.

With China you just have to accept that things will take longer and what should be a quick process, such as hotel check in, will take slightly longer with the passport checks etc. Booked an exec room but no room upgrade offered (Gold) despite every other room category being available.

We arrived just after 3 and were taken to the exec lounge to be checked in. Our room was on the 16th floor, great views. The room was really nice, large bed, lovely bathroom and more importantly lots of charging points.

The exec lounge is really nice, we didn’t want to eat as we had a dinner reservation, but the evening spread was more ‘meal’ based, would be great if they could just have some nuts or cheese for those who want a nibble with their drinks as opposed to a full on meal. However compared to Western lounges a great choice of spirits, wine and beers.

We had an early flight the next morning, but the exec lounge is closed at that time. We would have been happy to have a nice Nespresso coffee from the lounge as opposed to the full spread on the 5th floor!

We ate in the hotel buffet for dinner (25% off for Golds) a really nice spread. Fresh prawns and crab, sushi, duck pancakes and lots of local Chinese dishes. Free flow local beer, for about £30. Really need to give praise to both the male and female restaurant managers here, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us as few extras. They even took the time to walk us through the buffet explaining what my friend couldn’t/could eat due to his religious requirement’s.

Check out was quick and easy and Faye on the front desk provided a warm service.

We arrived into Capital Airport and it took about 40 mins in a taxi to the hotel, we departed from the new airport and it took about 60 mins from the hotel. For Western guests probably a good suggestion is to download Ali Pay for taxis, saves the worry of being ripped off (Chinese Uber).

A great location with modern rooms in a fantastic spot for the main tourist sites. Would happily stay again if I returned to Beijing.

Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is a very considerate hotel, especially when we met Manager Yu Yong from the concierge department. He was very responsible, sincere and courteous, and made us feel at home. He is our first choice for accommodation next time we come to Beijing.

In addition, my husband injured his foot. The hotel not only has wheelchair rentals, but also has seats in the bathroom bathtub, which brings us great convenience. Moreover, the hotel room is large and very clean. The Bellboy at the hotel entrance is also very satisfying.

Finally, the reason why it did not reach 10 points is because there is room for improvement in the working attitude of the front desk. The lady at check-in was very nice, but the lady at check-out not only kept looking at the chatting colleagues next to me when I checked out, but she also didn't take the initiative to tell me about my room, wheelchair, etc. When I asked her about Jin's arrangements, she didn't know everything, and I felt helpless. The quality of the concierge and front desk is really far behind.

Very nice hotel, located just besides the Wangfujing Pedestrian Shopping Street. The metro station is just a minute away, at the basement of Beijing apm Mall, Jinyu Hutong Station. There’s a Family Mart, Luckin Coffee & McDonalds outlet at the neighbouring Macau Center (both hotel building & Macau Center are linked) . Check in & out is very easy & fuss free. Staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a huge swimming pool at level 6 which opens until 10pm, water is warm kind. Great place for kids to enjoy themselves after a long day out sightseeing & shopping. Can easily book a 7 seater van via WeChat for airport transfer, they usually charge a flat rate 300 rmb from hotel to Capital Airport. (400 rmb for Daxing airport which is further).

Shopping at Wangfujing is kind of expensive. Recommend to take the metro to 木樨园 Mu Xi Yuan station, which is directly 5 stops away (no need to switch train lines) for cheap wholesale shopping at Bairong World Trade Center (百荣世贸商城). Two huge blocks with 6 levels each of non stop shopping… Metro tickets only cost 4rmb…. Here u can buy quality tshirt at 3 pcs for 100 rmb… toys, hats, shoes, stationary, men’s, women’s & kids clothing & more!
