Stayed here with my wife whilst on a China Experience Tour. The standards are very high, the room was very comfortable and breakfast had something to suit everybody. The full English was as good as you would get in the UK. All staff were very polite and a good level of service was shown throughout. Two minutes walk to the...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights - accomodation was ok and livable I suppose. Be careful of booking the trips through the booking station in the hotel lobby. The tours are great (ie. Great wall, Ming Tombs etc) but don't get caught at the Jade factory shop and especially the tea "ceremony" stop where the prices were an...

The buffet breakfast was the highlight. If you want a nice chinese dinner go two doors along the road about 10 bucks a head The novotel has a french or italian restaurant at about 250 yuan.(50 nzd)and a liquor store next door The barmaids dont speak or understand English, even sign language was a flop :( Our room was an upgrade,...

Needs a good renovation. Billed as a 4 star hotel but definitely not. Maybe 3.5 at best. We were supposed to have a superior room but it certainly wasn't. Tiny bathroom with a hair drier that doesn't really work and staff weren't able to get us a replacement. Non smoking room that stunk of smoke. Staff English skills not great...

If you're looking for basic accommodation in a convenient, central location I suppose this place might be OK. But I wish I had looked more carefully at what was available in the price range before booking it. I have trusted the Accor Group around the world, particularly in Europe. You select the brand (Novotel, Mercure or whatever) and you know...

Arrival, check-in were easy. Summer at the booking counter was exceptionally helpful and a credit to the hotel. The rooms (6th floor) are in dire need of upgrading and the lighting in the room is dim at best. Musty smell from its previous history as a smoking room (my guess and it says so in the lift buttons). Requested a...

I cannot think of any reason why you would book a standard room in this hotel. We booked a double then upgraded and paid for a superior room. The standard room was twin beds which was dirty, small and smelt strongly of smoke. Unlivable. The 'superior' room was much better but really only a basic level hotel room. Definitely needs...

The hotel is relatively clean, the ac works, rooms don't smell like smoke, and the hotel is in a good location. However, the hotel needs renovated everything is pretty much shabby. The hotel staff especially the front desk could use some training in how to be more proactive and accommodating.

This is an older hotel and first impressions were that it was a bit shabby but it was comfortable for the 4 nights we stayed. We booked a family room but we ended up with a very old and uncomfortable roll-away bed, making the room very crowded. We had assumed that breakfast came with the room but were disappointed that...

Stayed here about 9-10 years ago and decided to try again.
