The location was to the west instead to the east where is the most busy area. The room was a little dark, it was autumn season, room temperature was pleasant, the staff were ok and friendly. If you are tight on budget, it can be your choice, but if you want to pay 100 yuan more per night, go for...

This hostel is lovely and very well located close to the metro (10min walking). The internal decoration is typically chinese and very nice with aquariums, plants, lantern, great ! The rooms are furnished with comfort, of course like in an hostel. The heating works well hopefully, we were there in Deceber with -5C outside. The staff is very helpful, ready...

This hostel in a typical Beijing huton is affordable, welcoming and the staff are very accommodating. The hostel has a great communal space great for meeting people from around the world. The place is kept very clean. Great location close to all Beijing central sights (Palace etc...). Highly recommended.

I guess the guesthouse must used to be a nice place to stay for backpacker, they got successful and extended with an annex with more expensive private rooms. I have already been in China in guesthouse with some private rooms and this one was below par especially for the price. The rooms are very small, the beds are rock hard,...

My son and I stayed at the RLH (Red Lantern House) for 5 nights. The room was minimal but OK (2 beds, 2 chests, one rack, no chares) . The bathroom was OK and relativelly clean. Please note that both beds were very hard.

I stayed here for 7 nights in the annex building. Nice courtyard with small trees and, of course, red lanterns. It was too cold though to really enjoy it. The buildings have a friendly atmosphere. I'm not a backpackers/hostel enthousiast, so for me staying in the annex was fine. The main building seemed rather noisy. Staff speaks English and is...

This place sucks. The bathroom had mold, every now and then really bad odors will come out of the bathroom, the towels were really old with holes on them. The room had no windows. We booked a double queen room and got 3 single beds instead. Even though there was an empty double room next to us. No hostel atmosphere...

The Red Lantern is great if you only plan on staying a few days in Beijing and don't plan on staying in your room most of the day. The room has a cold stone floor but it was clean. The location of the Red Lantern is great. It's close to several subway stations and close to some of the major...

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom at Red Lantern, and we had some unpleasant encounters with the staff there. When we checked in at 10:15pm, we walked through the front door and stood at the counter only to be ignored by the two staff at the desk. Upon asking them for some help they grumpily checked us...

We loved our stay here, it's relaxed and friendly and the staff are really helpful. The location is also brilliant - we really enjoyed exploring the Hutongs and there's some amazing food just round the corner! There are several tube stops not too far away on a number of different lines which is useful. The room was clean and had...
