Chinese hospitality at their 4 and 5 star hotels is always superb and the service at Hotel NUO is no exception. The hotel was built in 1917 and was formerly know as the Raffles Beijing. I was taken on a tour by the German manager and it was pointed out that Mao formed the PROC in the ballroom in 1949....

What a wonderful hotel! Walking into the lobby is like traveling back in time and entering a Old Grand Hotel with shining chandeliers, polished marble and a grand staircase. Greeted by a porter we were guided to the reception where Wilson took care of a swift check in. While dealing with the paperwork the concierges approached us and told us...

Close to attractions eg Forbidden city and shopping malls. But if you prefer to shop "local" large Chinese market just around the corner. Room (take a Landmark) very 20s and elegant - last time I had a room like this was the Savoy in London. Staff all very friendly and helpful - soon on "hello Mr and Mrs Page" terms...

I feel sorry for making this title of my review as the hotel is in a great location and staff is lovely. First - share some knowledge about this hotel. This hotel used to be part of "Beijing Hotel". This is a historical brand equivalent to Ritz in London and Beverly Wilshire in LA. This is why the location for...

The history of this hotel is amazing, was told it opened 1917. The rooms bring back a lot of nostalgia and offer a old world luxury hard to find these days. The afternoon tea at the lobby lounge was very enjoyable, so was the dinner with wine paring at the small a la cart restaurant, breakfast has a great selection...

We were so well looked after by Anise and her team. I even got a complimentary birthday cake and wine; they couldn't do enough. The service wasn't intrusive and they rally wanted to help, even "rain" who remembered my breakfast coffee. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and just a 5 min walk to the Forbidden city and...

This best thing about this hotel is the location. Perfectly centrally located for Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, both are in walking distance. We booked a Club Level Room and were shown to a room which was very run down and a bit dirty to be honest, on the 7th Floor. We complained to reception who moved us to...

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are big. The location is great. There is a subway station direct in front and you can walk to a lot of sites. The concierge Hank was very helpful. Private driver to the great Wall can be organised by him for CNY800 per car.
