We stayed here twice during our two week visit to China. On our first visit, the room we were initially allocated on the second floor was very dirty and poorly maintained: stained tiles in the bathroom, missing grout, dust and dirt everywhere. The rollaway bed I had requested was not in the room initially and the one that turned up...

We opted to stay here based on trip advisor reviews that raved about the location. Well, that depends. Sure, it is only about a 20 minute walk away from the entrance to the Forbidden city and Tiananmen Square, but it also nearly that long to the nearest subway stop (Wangfujing on Line 1 or Dengshikou on Line 5) and since...

The hotel is located in the very center near Forbidden city and Tian an men square. For those, who is interested in sightseeing - excellent location. It is European style hotel. Good breakfast with even cheese (which is very unusual for China) and Chinese food. The rooms are comfortable. There is set for tea and coffee. Very helpfull staff. The...

Well located only 7 min walk to main Mall with upmarket shops and night market in laneways. The checkin staff spoke English and were very easy to deal with and gave good service. The rooms are well fitted out. We had a court yard room but due to the cold did not venture out. The bathroom is behind a clear...

This was the second time I'd stayed at this hotel. The first was ok, but this time had made it never again. Booked the fashion room/suite with the big round bath and instead got a normal bath, but to top it all the water was barely warm! Had to go out for them to fix it. The room doesn't even...

Hotel Kapok is located very conveniently to visit the Forbidden City. The rooms are decent and clean. The only complaints were sporadic problems with the Internet (perhaps this is par for the course in China) and the rather uninspiring food at the restaurant. If they improved the breakfast buffet, I would rate them much higher.

Stayed in hotel kapok, Beijing from 15 to 19 March 2017. This was my second time staying in this hotel. The first was back in 2010 when I first visited Beijing. Overall, excellent hotel. The location is superb. Only 5 minutes walk to Forbidden City and Wangfujing shopping street. Can tell that the hotel has aged. The room that was...

Location was incredible. Walking distance to the Forbidden City and huge shopping center. Rooms and service were excellent. I got a room facing the street and it was nice waking up with the view of a bustling city. I chanced on several hawker stalls nearby and got some really mean chicken noodles. I didn't try the hotel breakfast though as...

My husband and I, and my parents stayed here for 5 nights last May. We booked 2 fashion rooms and they were fine for our needs. Very clean, modern decor and large by European standards. The reception staff very helpful and very accommodating - on arrival we weren't happy with the location of our rooms and they were happy to...

We arrived at the hotel and were met with friendly English speaking staff who assisted us beautifully. The room was interesting with the glass bathroom and passage, but the curtains sorted any concerns about this out for those who like their privacy! The breakfast was good and had a good variety of local and 'close to' western foods.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Kapok in Beijing is a uniquely designed boutique hotel located in the heart of this ancient Chinese city. A modern looking boutique hotel crafted with a touch of Chinese influence, next to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The lantern, a traditional icon in China, is used as a concept of exterior design, which breaks the boundaries between inner space and outdoor environment. An unconventional layout presents a spacious area; the ample use of glass enhances the natural light and the bamboo courtyard in the lobby slows the pac e of urban life. Hotel Kapok consists of 89 guestrooms and 16 suites, appointed with small gardens on the balcony. The interior design focuses on simplicity and pureness: white is all-pervading in the room, wooden floors and glass built bathrooms liberates the traveler's body and soul. The "Staircase Library" certainly increases the joy of reading. Hotel Kapok delivers personalized services while providing conveniences such as restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, business and fitness center.Hotel Kapok is located in the heart of Beijing , on the east side of the Forbidden City, minutes away from the famous shopping district Wangfujing. Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Train Station is also close by. ... more   less
