This hotel is right in the centre of Beijing and is walking distance to Wangfujing Mall. It is about 1km from the nearest subway station. Don't be afraid to use the subway system. Tickets can be purchased on a machine in English for next to nothing. The subway system is really clean and safe. The beds were comfy and the...

We stayed here for 6 nights. The hotel staff are nice enough. They will answer any questions you have but are not overly friendly. The hotel is a bit dated but still plenty comfortable. The rooms had 4 bottles of complimentary water a day and a humidifier which was nice as the weather was extremely dry. The breakfast is quite...

Superb!! Excellent location, walking distance from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the shopping Wangfujing street with its Donghuamen night market. 10 min from Tian´nanmen East and Wangfujing metro stations. We booked the 60 m2 “Suite Fashion” and it looked exactly like the pictures shown in the webpage, so there were no unpleasant surprises. The room was divided into 4...

Great hotel with great location. Got a room on the second floor with a private terrace! Nice big bed and large bathroom. Location of this hotel is a must! A lot of little restaurants nearby! Worth visiting it!

The room itself was nice, but as others have mentioned it did appear that some parts needed some updates such as grout in the bathroom, outside furniture, etc. I had a courtyard room, but most of the courtyard is a large stone garden and one chair was broken so we didn't use it much. It was also very warm one...

We stayed here twice during our two week visit to China. On our first visit, the room we were initially allocated on the second floor was very dirty and poorly maintained: stained tiles in the bathroom, missing grout, dust and dirt everywhere. The rollaway bed I had requested was not in the room initially and the one that turned up...

We opted to stay here based on trip advisor reviews that raved about the location. Well, that depends. Sure, it is only about a 20 minute walk away from the entrance to the Forbidden city and Tiananmen Square, but it also nearly that long to the nearest subway stop (Wangfujing on Line 1 or Dengshikou on Line 5) and since...

The hotel is located in the very center near Forbidden city and Tian an men square. For those, who is interested in sightseeing - excellent location. It is European style hotel. Good breakfast with even cheese (which is very unusual for China) and Chinese food. The rooms are comfortable. There is set for tea and coffee. Very helpfull staff. The...

Well located only 7 min walk to main Mall with upmarket shops and night market in laneways. The checkin staff spoke English and were very easy to deal with and gave good service. The rooms are well fitted out. We had a court yard room but due to the cold did not venture out. The bathroom is behind a clear...

This was the second time I'd stayed at this hotel. The first was ok, but this time had made it never again. Booked the fashion room/suite with the big round bath and instead got a normal bath, but to top it all the water was barely warm! Had to go out for them to fix it. The room doesn't even...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Kapok in Beijing is a uniquely designed boutique hotel located in the heart of this ancient Chinese city. A modern looking boutique hotel crafted with a touch of Chinese influence, next to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The lantern, a traditional icon in China, is used as a concept of exterior design, which breaks the boundaries between inner space and outdoor environment. An unconventional layout presents a spacious area; the ample use of glass enhances the natural light and the bamboo courtyard in the lobby slows the pac e of urban life. Hotel Kapok consists of 89 guestrooms and 16 suites, appointed with small gardens on the balcony. The interior design focuses on simplicity and pureness: white is all-pervading in the room, wooden floors and glass built bathrooms liberates the traveler's body and soul. The "Staircase Library" certainly increases the joy of reading. Hotel Kapok delivers personalized services while providing conveniences such as restaurants, bars, meeting rooms, business and fitness center.Hotel Kapok is located in the heart of Beijing , on the east side of the Forbidden City, minutes away from the famous shopping district Wangfujing. Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Train Station is also close by. ... more   less
