My friends and I went to HK a couple of months ago. We wanted to get a cheap hotel and so we ended up booking in a hostel. Upon reading reviews of Ashoka, we were kind of hesitant to continue but we just kept saying...More
Very budget stay, paid RM400 for 7nights stay.. chungking mansion did not provide a secure feeling but the place is definitely safe... nice room, courteous staff... near mtr stations, and also minutes walk away from star pier
The hotel itself was merely acceptable for me. The room was extremely small, but clean. The bed linen was quite thin and not clean. No tooth-pasted was provided apart from first night. Given the budget price, I admitted these were within my expectation.
This was my 3rd stay with Ashoka in 2 years. The rooms are ridiculously small, but that's to be expected in HK. Other than that, they are functional and clean, and despite the bustling streets, the rooms are quiet.

Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the major tourist and shopping areas of Hong Kong. With a high concentration of hotels, retail shops and commercial offices – it’s a busy and bustling neighbourhood that never sleeps. On the surface, Tsim Sha Tsui seems to only feature an abundant number of high-end retail stores selling designer brands and jewelry, owing to its popularity with high-budget shopping tours. However, it also
contains a diverse range of attractions for the entire family. Whether taking a walk in Kowloon Park, exploring museums, going shopping or grabbing a bite to eat – Tsim Sha Tsui has something for everyone.
They do have 24 hr reception for check in so I don't see a problem there, I think it would also be a good idea to telephone or email them to advise the time of your arrival so they will be expecting you
