I have stayed at The Wharney several times over the last 10 years. Most recently May 2017. This is a great HK value for money hotel. I generally choose a slightly better grade room, on the Executive floor (level 18 & 19). On this last occasion i was upgraded upon arrival to the Executive Plus floor (level 20 & 21)....

Rooms are comfort, very good price quality correlation. We were accommodated in standard double room that was clean and nice. Located in Wan Chai very close to all attractions. Breakfast is excellent with variety of food. Certainly recommend to all travelling to Hong Kong.

Great hotel in fantastic location. Room was spacious and clean, staff all very friendly. Great selection of restaurants closeby as well as the mtr. Highly recommend this property if you're staying in Wan Chain. Will be back for future visits.

good central location just a few minutes walk from Wan Chei MTR station and close to the convention centre. Only thing to mention is the lap dancing clubs nearby that made the missus give me the eyes.. but to be honest it didn't bother me. The hotel looked a bit different to what id expected from the website and the...

A reasonable hotel slap bang in the middle of Wanchai, Hong Kong Island. If it's pubs, bars, clubs and live bands you're after this is the place to stay. Indeed, look no further. Some never to be forgotten nightlife. 'Welcome to the Jungle' as it says above the door to Amazonia in Luard Road. You have been warned!

I have been living in HK for the past year and booked this hotel for the last 3 night in HK due to my university accommodation ending. So I already knew what the area of Wan chai was like and is known as a red light district however, its not like a normal red light district and not super seedy...

Hong Kong is an amazing place, this hotel was booked as a package and had been well reviewed. None of these reviews mentioned the fact the hotel is in the middle of the red light district; with clubs and strips bars making noise until the early hours. Currently there is also. Construction site next door that starts work at 07:30....

I've stayed in Wharney GDH for about 9 years now with 2-3 times a year in regular basis for business, because the location is so convenient from the Wanchai HKCC. This April I went to HK for personal travel trip with my husband, and beside staying in another hotel in Mongkok, we planned to stay in Wharney in our last...

This hotel is ideally situated for everything. It is between central and causeway bay. There are two MTR stations CLOSE by. I suggest you book directly with the hotel you can negotiate a better deal. The lobby is impressive, our check in was speedy. Staff were all very helpful considering it is a busy hotel. The room was a good...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
