I went directly to their website to make a reservation. The website froze after I put in my information. So I gave up and made a reservation in a hotel nearby. They charged me over $300 anyway, despite the fact that a reservation was never made and of course never was an email sent to confirm my reservation. I complained...

Stayed here in aug 2012 and from start to finish it was a horrible experience we were made feel unwelcome although between the 8 of us staying there for 2 weeks 2 triple rooms and one Executive Room we were bringing in good business. the first room i had was horrible and full of the smell of stale smoke which...

We've stayed there for twice, once in Feb 2012 and once just 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately we've quite been disappointed this time. We have specifically booked a non-smoking twin-bed room which has been confirmed by the local travel agent. However when we checked-in and took the lift to our floor we immediately realized that it wasn't a non-smoking floor and...

This is my 5th trip to Hongkong for shopping. I have always stayed elsewhere but since there were 3 adults on this trip, this is the only hotel I can find that has a proper triple room. Or so I thought. When we checked in they placed a rollaway bed in a twin room! There was practically no space in...

The location is good. It is very close to MTR and HK convention center. I have stayed here 5 nights for exhibition show and the room rate is too expensive, but not not included breakfast. The hotel and the room was old and smell. The bed is very small and hard. Everything in the room was old. Wi-Fi free for...

The Wharney ( which is funny for cricket fans) is a very clean and well presented hotel in a very unclean and eclectic part of Hong Kong. If you don't mind Bars and Girly Bars in the same block then this hotel is a good value option for Hong Kong.

Have just spent a week at the Wharney with my teenage son. This is my 3rd time at this hotel and as always, the hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Great location and not too "touristy". Very good value. Felt really safe and is easy to get everywhere. Will definitely stay...

Thought I was being a good corporate citizen and booked into a low cost hotel 1,100HK$ per night hotel, instead of the usual more expensive options in Hong Kong. Well booked in for 3 nights. Got to my room, booked double bed but only single available, even though I had confirmed the previous day. The room was dirty, it smelt...

We had a 5 day stay at this hotel on this trip. I use this hotel most times when visiting Hong Kong. A nice central position with good access to the MTR. Arriving late evening we was put in a smoking room which stank of stale cigarette smoke, even though we had requested a non smoking room. As the hotel...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
