What a fabulous stay today! The service of the staffs is really marvellous. First, I would like to sincerely complement for the hospitality of your staff Carmen Yeung during my check in today. She is definitely a star. She is very warm and pleasant during my Check in . She is very professional and able to explain all the facilities in the hotel like swimming pool arrangements. This stay is to celebrate our wedding anniversary and her friendly attitude made our starts great! She tried her very best to meet our request during the stay. She introduced the IHG club benefit and invite me to join to enjoy the reward in my future stay. Really much appreciated for her help and welcome. For sure she is the asset of the company. I went to the pool this afternoon. The pool is great and the staffs at the fitness centre are friendly and professional too. Credit to staff Andrew Tse. He is patient and friendly, able to explain the pool access procedures clearly in a professional way. Good to have such beautiful experience here today. We also enjoy the little delights from the hotel to our anniversary celebration. Definitely will come again and recommend my friends, colleagues to stay here in the future.

InterContinental Grand Stanford needs a major renovation and the age of the hotel is clearly shown through its outdated lobby, decor, elevator and facilities all around. The sad fact is that the hotel does not even give out this good kind of classic colonial decor. The staffs were friendly but the hotel was clearly past its prime. The room at the Club floor was nice and I got upgraded to a harborview room because of my InterContinental Ambassador status. The view was amazing and the room was clearly given some updates. However, it lacks modern amenities like USB port bedside or anywhere in the room. The bathroom is okay and because of "environmental" reasons, they use bulk sized bathroom amenities. However, I was shocked that no face towels were offered. There were only hand towels and bath towels and one bath mat. For a six star hotel or InterContinental chain, the hotel really fell short in a major way. I was even more shocked at the limited operating hours for the fitness center - 7:45am to 12:30pm & 2 to 9pm. The hotel claimed that it needs an hour and half for a deep clean. However, the small fitness center does not really need 90 minutes to clean and and how about opening it up a bit earlier like 7am! Closing at 9pm is fine, but I am sure some early risers want an earlier workout so they can avoid the crowd at the breakfast buffets at 10am. The only saving grace is the enthusiastic service at the Club InterContinental. The lounge itself is clean but way past its prime too in terms of decor. The club offered a breakfast buffet from 6:30am to 11am (the club guests have access to cafe on the M too with a bit more variety especially Asian dishes but the lounge is quieter. There is a full hot egg-freshly-made-to-order menu available too), afternoon tea buffet (very basic - sandwiches - three types, scones, and three type of mini pastries), and happy hours (full bar and a buffet of canapes, appetizers, salad, mini hot savories, hamburgers, and a small mini-dessert buffet). The food was nice and I really like the breakfast buffet, but they can use some variety. For afternoon tea and happy hours, the sandwiches were the same variety for both days of my visit, and the same applies to the hot dishes in the happy hours too. If you can use different kinds of cheese, you can surely have different type of finger sandwiches offered daily. Service, howere, was great. Both the Filipino and local staffs are attentive, friendly and patient. They are always around to clean up plates, and always happy to grab you another drink. I was always served within a minute of my arrival. In conclusion, I really feel the hotel itself fell short of what I expect from a luxury hotel brand and stained towels are really not what I expect. The hotel has potential with its excellent staffs, but its dated decor and lack of modern amenities are really off putting. The only saving grace is its excellent staffs especially the team at Club InterContinental.

Dianne, Duty Manager did not check us in, but she overheard me asking something to the front desk staff that checked us in and gave me a call later to provide the answers I sought, which the other staff couldn’t provide that time. She even went out of her way to deliver herself a complimentary wine bec she found out we’re celebrating, my husband’s birthday. The hotel rooms might need some refurbishment but who cares when you have this kind of attention given by the employees. However, their rooms are very spacious and AC are very efficient. Bathroom amenities are also of great quality. Geraldine, the supervisor of Cafe O was also friendly and accommodating. Great job!

Thanks for the wonderful service from Venus Yam, who arranged a room to us even before the hotel check in time , 15;00. Thanks for understanding that we just arrived with sweats, especially carrying a baby under the sun, so that she cut down our waiting time to let us have the room to settle baby first, although room located on lower floor. We did appreciate for the arrangements and clearly introduced on the facilities and meals arrangement, also advised how to avoid peak hours in the hotel due to the summer time. Hotel facilities are not brand new but keep well. Lifts are so efficient here, we did not wait for more than 20 seconds. Pool is small but still lovely and has its own style. Overall was a nice experience to stay here. 推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推推

Bought a Klook's staycation package for my wife's birthday that includes a guaranteed free upgrade to Premier Victoria Harbour View Room (large, bolded text with emphasis on the website), but only found out that the upgrade does not apply in Aug when checking in (small text on the receipt and web page found after we checked again). My fault really, should have read every tiny word there was, still we could not hide our disappointment. Ms. Diana Schleiter at the Front Desk did not want us to feel upset, so she did her best to give us a room on a higher floor with a harbour view (Classic Skyline). Not as great as the Premier Harbour View room, but we are already super super happy! We really appreciate her thoughtfulness and observation. She actually came to our original room and showed us the new room! Such good heart! One needs a sincere understanding of customers' feelings in order to provide such top-quality service! There is also a plate of 4 Happy Birthday cookies. A nice touch. One horrific thing about our room (Room 1833) was that when one of the cabinet doors was opened, we could see the highly dusty air filter and brown gooey stuff (see photos). Looks like it needs to be seriously cleaned. My daughters had fun at the playroom and enjoyed the activities the hotel offered. Going to have dinner buffet soon. Hope it will be nice. Staff at Cafe on M were highly responsive and caring. Always remind us before some special dishes were served at the dinner buffet. The buffet itself was not great though. Lacked major fresh seafood that most other buffets in Hong Kong would have, i.e., snow crab legs, and lobsters.Replacing them were cold rock crabs and cooked lobsters and claws. The claws were tender, but lobsters were not. Other hot dishes were not particularly good, and it is hard to single out one that worth mentioning. DIY ice lemon tea was good, and Haagen Dazs ice cream too, but they are not exactly prepared by the hotel. Swimming pool has a limit of 27 users during COVID, which was fine, but only if they have some sort of booking system instead of first-come-first-served walk-in. Many other hotels have, and even if the time slot is full, you need not waste time waiting. Seeing others waiting and wasting an hour in queue for the pool was a sad scene. Makes me wonder if my whole family should waste an hour standing at the corridor tomorrow. Overall, the staff are excellent! Top-notch service. But the dusty air filter, the goo, the food at dinner buffet, have a lot to be desired.
