Excellent location. Right on Nathan Rd. Can walk to Temple St and train station. Taxi stand right on corner ( left exiting hotel). Surrounded by shops. Morning breakfast buffet was adequate and nice. Service was good. We requested nonsmoking room and was placed on a floor with all nonsmoking rooms. Our room was small...like in college dorm. It fit bed,...

Stay here for 3 nights. This hotel located at a very strategic location, Jordan MTR station is around the corner, eatery or restaurants within walking distance and most importantly many shops nearby. We did walk to the Star Garden. We enjoyed the walk as we were window shopping along the way. I recommend this hotel as the room is clean,...

I was looking for a hotel near Jordan station that wasn't too expensive and had good reviews. Shamrock hotel was one of the cheapest that I could find (I didn't want to stay in a hostel with a tiny bathroom). I only stayed in the hotel for one night and I was satisfied. The single room was clean and functional...

Fantastic location. On Nathan Road. Had room on 5th floor - no smoking - quiet and comfortable bed and decent shower Plenty of food options right outside of the hotel. Staff were nice and helpful. If you want to stay in a comfortable affordable room in heart of Kowloon I highly recommend Shamrock Hotel.

This is probably the only place where I encountered good service on this trip. The front office staff were really nice and polite. We got upgraded to a bigger room, which was very spacious for HK's standards. Right beside the hotel was Watson's so you can get personal care stuff if you really need them. Opposite there's a supermarket, Wellcome,...

I brought my parents for a holiday in Hong Kong and we stayed in a twin room with extra bed. We took A21 from the airport and alighted at the prudential hotel bus stop. If you do not Want to carry your luggage up and down from the Subway, you can just cross the road up ahead. There's a jordan...

Location is perfect, 3 minutes walk to Jordan Station MTR and Airport bus drop off is very near as well. If your coming from the airport it is located at the back of hotel and if your heading back the pick up area is on the opposite side of the hotel's front building. This hotel is along Nathan Road and...

I have to say I didn't have high hopes for this hotel: the rooms looked small, dated and tired. In reality they were but it wasn't so bad. Luckily we were upgraded upon arrival and, given the size of the room, I can only imagine the entry-level room we booked must've been the size of a closet. That being said,...

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
