I booked Shanghai Hostel with agoda, but when we get there we were transfered to a different hostel as Shanghai was full. 1st night was okay. I forgot the exact hostel name, but it was clean and pretty decent room. In the morning we were asked to leave our things in the Shanghai hostel reception area bc we need to...

Security isn't the greatest, raids every now and then for trafficking be it humans or drugs, having said that, it's cheap and it gets the job done if you need a room for the night. It's close to the water and the fairy across to the other side.

So stayed at one of the many many different "hotels" in this establishment. I have stayed in cheap accommodation in Bulgaria, Greece, China and other places before, this was far the worst! Led down a dark alley for a short cut, on one side porno mag, other side adult toys. Ok! No problem. Few cockroaches ran over my feet and...

There must be around one hundred 'hotels', 'guesthouses', 'dorms' in this huge filthy hell hole. However, everywhere has its positives... This place has one... The location which is close to the action in this part of Hong Kong. Now onto the terrifying reality of actually staying in the Chungking Mansions. The taxi drops you off outside and you wonder what...

Terrible safety conditions, waiting half an hour for an elevator, moving your bags without knowing by staff to other rooms in one of 17 stories in 5 buildings, extremely small rooms, huge dirt, strange smells, lot of diffferent sellers pushing on you downstairs, I got exema, probably from soap, we were moved 2 times to other rooms. Only good location,...

So - the prices here are CHEAP and I mean very cheap for Hong Kong. The location is WONDERFUL. What is the problem? This is a huge building with about 100 different hostel operators running their operations in about 1900 rooms. There is GREAT difference between all of the hostel operators. Some are a little more legit than others. Beware...

1st the BEAUTIFUL, location is great. You are literally short walking distance to star ferry pier, train, buses, shopping, sightseeing spots. The NIGHTMARE, very confusing when u 1st get there. Especially when u dont realize it is alot of 10 room hostel/ hotels in the same building. The crowded space can be intimidating if u let it. Push through the...

If you are booking a hostel in Hong Kong check the address - Nathan Road or ChungKing Mansion because they have Many "Hotel", hostels and apartments but they are run by the same corporation. I was in a dorm with 5 other people in the size of a closet and all booked different hostels. I was Budget, another was German,...
