I will start this review by saying this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I planned on having the best time with my partner and booked the romantic dinner as I was planning a marriage proposal for her. The staff reached out to me as soon as possible and helped ensure I was able to plan the best for her. Upon our arrival, the staff were friendly and polite and helped take care of our luggage. The receptionist was very sweet and kind to us, and the hotel had fully upgraded our room to the executive grand deluxe which was amazing! Unfortunately we weren't able to try out the guest lounge which was exclusive to the upgrade, but we hope to try it out next time. The lady in red (Winda) escorted us to our room and she was very lovely to chat with. Once we go into our hotel room, we were delighted with free decorations and a platter of small cakes which were absolutely delicious! The romantic dinner inside our room was an amazing experience to have with your love, and the gentleman serving our food gave us exceptional service. I ordered both set menus for my partner and I to try everything, and we loved each course. Honestly by the end of the dinner, I was full and I had not eaten for quite some time which was surprising. It was a really enjoyable night and quite memorable spending with my new fiance. We decided to wake up early and treat ourselves to the free breakfast and I was actually impressed with the variety of food. With so many choices, my favourite would have been the desert bar. The staff make the pancakes and waffles in front of your eyes, and being able to eat honey from bees wax was so good. There were many different toppings you could add from all the foods, and everything was of the highest tier. It was quite an unforgettable experience and we will definitely be coming back! We really appreciate all the efforts from the staff!!

I am absolutely obsessed with Kempinski. I love you guys so much. You guys always give THE best service. Hubby and I checked in on December 28th 2023 and checked out on December 30th 2023. There was a misunderstanding but it was my fault. Again: I apologize. The front desk clerk was absolutely professional and sweet and explained to me. Thank you. Our room was decorated because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Thank you guys sooooooo much. It was my first time in Indonesia, so when arriving I was nervous. Security is super tight. I kept asking if everything is okay. But they assured us that everything was okay. Also shout out to the manager at the restaurant during breakfast. She is wayyyy too sweet. She took care of me. I am gluten and lactose-intolerant. She made sure my pancakes and bread were on deck. All the best for everyone at Kempinski. Cheers, Jennifer M

There are so many things that I would like to share with Kempinksi Jakarta management I will start by saying I would not return to this hotel. They should do better in a lot of things. Let's start from parking area. You may go to East mall Grand Indonesia, then there will be signs to go to dedicated parking spot. The parking guard there are friendly and able to check your name should you’ll stay there. He may inform if your room already allocated. Great point on this. Then we may take lift to the lobby, and be greeted by the security guard. Unfortunately they are not helpful on bringing our luggage to the screening device. Next go to the lobby, there are no staff greeting us with welcome drink. It just lay there in the corner. The reception are so standard not representing Luxury nor 5 stars hotels. The check in took quite long until I asked why is it taking so long to get a room (while even the parking guy already knew our room number). He mentioned that our assigned room was NOT Ready. Bear in mind, we check in at 14.30 in the afternoon. And he didn’t even at least advise me to wait or sit in the lobby while waiting. I took that initiative. I booked Grand Deluxe with City view. Expecting to chill in a bath tub in the evening and have a romantic evening with my husband, thus the 1st room assigned was on the 1st floor. It didn’t even shown CITY VIEW. Lesson learned : MAKE A HIGHER FLOOR request should you expecting city view. The difference between deluxe to grand deluxe is around 300-500 thousand rupiah per night. Wasted.... I was complaining as soon as we arrived the 1st floor room with no view. Then we’re offered to 5th floor without view OR 2nd floor with “so called city view”. We took the 2nd floor BUT we need to wait longer at least until 4pm. The reception keeps on mentioning sorry that we’re fully booked. Yet, I checked your website and still able to book rooms on that day. Thank you so much for being “so full” and busy. It’s okay, we’ll have our late lunch at the Grand Indonesia mall that connected to the hotel. Plus point on location We were not personally informed whether our room already Ready/Not. Thus at 4.30pm, our room was “so called ready”. Why so called ready? Because : There are so many hand prints in the mirror. The housekeeping needs to improve their work. Faster and Cleaner for 5 star and luxury hotel. The room : It's quite spacious (despite of it’s located on the 2nd floor). Dirty hand prints all over the mirror inside the room. The bed is too soft with also too super very soft and unsporting pillow. I asked for additional and firmer pillow, but it came with the same quality. Oh well they don’t have any pillow menu. TV is Grande and sofa is good. Bathroom also great. The only good thing is the toilet with warm seat. The mirror in bathroom also already too old and need refurbishment. Average sound proof from the street but not sound proof at all with noise from the alley. My goodness so many children screaming and noise from the room above us. Their housekeeping service really needs to be improved other that the cleaning service. On the 1st room there are welcome cookies, but in the 2nd room there are none. The staff informed that the cookies was placed for other guest on the 1st room. What kind of service are those ? I asked the HK that delivering pillow on “how to use” coffee machine. Guess what ? He came in and just showing me the card and says “ instruction is on the card”. HK Manager, please re-train your team member better. In the afternoon we came and pay visit to the pool area. The pool is not too big with so many family with kids there. Okay, now it’s pretty clear that this might be a family getaway hotels, not a business hotel. The pool became seems too crowded with so many little children everywhere. They have turn down service in the evening. Next morning after checking on hotel reviews in Youtube, so many reviewers inform that their breakfast are very full and waiting time is so long in the morning. Even some of them have to sit at Oku. Therefore we decided to wake up early and take breakfast earlier. We’re one of the 1st guest in the restaurant. The food quality is GREAT with (again) not so good staff. O my goodness I was asked for coffee/tea, and I prefer coffee but it never came until I asked for the 2nd time. Same thing happened on the juice bar. Need to ask for 2X. The egg station didn't understand that I need vegetarian omellete. The staff for live cooking are not as friendly as other luxury hotels. The only staff that were nice is the one that stand in ICE CREAM stall. Thank you so much girl. I didn’t see your nametag on your uniform so that I can’t mention your name. I stayed quite long for breakfast around 1 hour, and seems that the restaurant not too full. Then I walked back to my room and surprised there’s a long queue to enter the restaurant. How come? There are so many seats inside. At 11am, there’s a REMINDER call that the check out time is at 12. We can’t wait to check out anyway. Not a pleasant stay at Kempinski Jakarta or my expectation is too high perhaps. Would I stay here again? No. The Kempinski Jakarta failed to be a luxurious five star hotel for me.

I will start by saying I would not return to this hotel. It was good but not more, and I think we can do better. Maybe I am confused about what the Kempinski brand represents. I had assumed a modern, luxurious, city hotel. Other than the main entrance lobby, the Kempinski Jakarta did not feel modern or luxurious. It was tired, dated and most furnishings and surfaces were in desperate need of a spruce. To give context, we have stayed in several Kempinski Hotels, my favourite being the Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok. This hotel is amazing. It is basically a beautiful resort in the middle of a big city. All aspects of the hotel are immaculate. The Kempinski Jakarta is nothing like this. Let's start with the negatives: Firstly, the rooms are in desperate need of an update. Once you leave the lobby, which is actually quite nice, everything looks old and tired - the hallways, the elevators, but especially the guest rooms. It does not feel like a luxurious 5 star hotel. Secondly, we spent an afternoon by the pool. There were no clean towels available and when I asked the attendant where I could get some he handed me a towel which had been used and returned to him from another guest. I told him I would prefer a clean towel and searched around and located two. The biggest disappointment with the pool experience is that while we were there a whirlwind of three or four families arrived. In total there would have been no less than eight or nine small children/babies. Unfortunately none of the children had a swim nappy. At one point one of the fathers placed his toddler standing on the edge of the pool right in front of me and instructed them to urinate. They did. Hopefully he didn't tell them to do anything further. I don't know because at that point I left. Thirdly, there was a tray of food left outside a door in our corridor one night. It was there when we woke at 5.30am and still there at 4.00pm that afternoon. The housekeeping trolley had been up and down our corridor countless times that day but had not removed it. Finally, and this will not apply to everyone, the majority of guests at the Kempinski Jakarta, during our stay, were families with very young children. This had a huge impact on our stay. We are a couple in their late forties, travelling without children, looking for a little bit of a luxury and the odd quiet afternoon by the pool. We did not find this here. The positives: Firstly, the service. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble - even opening the buffet breakfast to us early as we had to leave for an early morning flight. Thank you - we were very grateful. Secondly, the location is great. We were able to walk to the flea market, the malls, money changers and restaurants. Thirdly, the buffet breakfast really is amazing. There were many options, but most importantly, the quality of the food was outstanding. Would I stay here again? No. Having stayed at the Raffles Jakarta last year, I can tell you they are worlds apart in terms of overall experience. The Kempinski Jakarta does not feel like a luxurious five star hotel. Also, as we are a couple in our late forties and travelling without children, we would prefer a hotel with a less family vibe. That said, if you are a family with young children, looking for a hotel in a great location in Jakarta, this might be a good choice for you. While we were there the majority of guests were families with very young children and the hotel seems to cater well to families.

I’m a regular guest at this hotel. However I find that this hotel is extremely unprofessional in terms of hotel rules they apply to each customer. Please train your bad staff once more, or may be you can replace them as they keep on changing hotel rules.

Nice view of round a bell bundaran HI and the access very nice. Easy access to grand indonesia mall and walking distance to plaza indonesia. The restaurant very comfy and yummy, nice ambience and quite complete with the local food. The bath up very big and comfy.

my second time stay at Kempinski Hotel Indonesia. i stayed in the 12th floor. as i remember, the last time i have stay in the Kempinski Hotel Indonesia, i did stay in the 12th floor. and i did ask the receptionist, and she said that the Hotel will check all preference for every guest who came back to stay again. wow such a heart warming that the Hotel will prepare the best that they can do to make every guests have a pleasant stay. will never get bored to stay at Kempinski Hotel Indonesia.
