The Orient hotel exceeded my expectation for non international hotel chain. The location is superb, located in Jl Sudirman, close to Benhil area, making it easy for us to order GoFood as the Benhil area is very famous for its great local delicacy with great varieties. Also, the hotel is located above Caspar and next to Furusato Izakaya, the famous bar and Japanese restaurants making The Orient Hotel a great place for staycation, without the need to worry for searching for good foods nearby. The room size is pretty small but the room design is very unique. The hardware of the room is pretty good with imported Italian sanitaire brand. The staffs are very attentive, easy to reach and show a very good attitude towards the guest. One thing I dislike about the room is the room layout which is abit weird, where the toilet is far separated from the wash basin and shower room. The minibar is totally free of charge and the toilet amenities are from Bvlgari which I believe the only 5 star hotel that provides Bvlgari amenities in Jakarta. The breakfast selection is rather limited but it was totally great and surprisingly very tasty! The breakfast is at Caspar outdoor area, and it is based on order basis instead of buffett style like in other 5 star hotels. The hotel is also equipped with great infinity swimming pools, with a small sliding area for kids. There was also a jaccuzi next to the pool but unfortunately when i stayed, the water is cold, which I believe jacuzzi is best with warm water. Gym is also available and used together with the Sudirman Suites residence, but the gym is very small and the equipments arent very complete for a proper work out session. There is also a library available for the guests to hang around with the interesting interior design. Overall, i will come back again at the Orient and for those who still search for hotel in Sudirman area, the Orient hotel will be a great choice for you. the hotel is very new and only 3 months old by the time i stayed. I hope the Orient hotel will be be able to be consistent in providing its great service for the future years, as i notice from all 5 stars hotel in Jakarta (yes, i have stayed in all 5 stars hotels in Jakarta already) not many are able to provide great service to its guests in the subsequent stay. There were a few 5 stars hotel that were able to be consistent and always offer great service in my subsequent stays, but not many. So i hope you guys will strive and manage to be consistent to keep all the best service every time for every guest.…
Never seen an interior design like this before. The Orient hotel concept is superb with the ambiance and Christmas decor. The overall vibe of being in this hotel is two words majestic and exclusive. Would totally visit again.
Superb location at the heart of central jakarta with lots of skyscrapers view. Excellent costumer service and shout out to Callista at the front desk!! Definitely come here again and will recommend to friends!
We've chosen this hotel for our special stay in Jakarta - special event for our couple. The hotel is amazing with brilliant views, nice design, etc. King size bed and mattress was fantastic. We've chosen one of the most expensive room types for 2 nights. We were super happy initially, but then experienced issues with several service related things: - On one of the mornings I tried calling room service to order food for 30 minutes and no one responded. I asked reception to reach them and call me back - Breakfast in the room was super boring and not tasty. Selection of breakfast should be improved, lots of room for chef there - We wanted to spend both nights in the hotel restaurants. But even though we've booked it in advance, no one told that there is a special even in rooftop restaurant on Thursday. Ok, we rescheduled this to another place. On Friday we wanted to have a dinner in Caspar restaurant, but suddenly found they don't serve food due to their special event. We wanted to have steaks and wine and couldn't. Other restaurants in the hotel were either fully booked or didn't work for different reasons.. So we spent that night moving between venues until we got angry and found some manager at Caspar restaurant. Who helped us to arrange a seat in the "fully booked" Japanese place (which was nice). Why not tell us in advance that restaurants are booked? Why not tell us at least on reception? Also to mention that different managers at the hotel didn't know something is closed for a special event and kept sending us to places that could't accept us.. Disappointing is the least I can say - WiFi was awful, we couldn't load our files or even load youtube video without interruption Lots of room to improve the service, communication between staff and training. Also please improve breakfasts which are not good enough for 5-star…
Service was slow during breakfast, and food portion was too small especially Japanese menu, the salmon was super small its suitable for kid not for adult. When i order extra salmon it took soo long about 20-30minute. Ans service super slow. And breakfast its alacart not buffet. However, hotel service was good especially their housekeeping was really nice and helpful. Front office also nice and fast response when i hv trouble on my head shower. Hotel room its really comfortable and amazing.
The Orient hotel location is central, Check in was fast and staff very friendly, my room was Beautiful with nice views of the city , the lobby has a unique design , breakfast was nice , loved the pool , one of the best in Jakarta , the library lounge is nice the décor amazing, would definitely recommend this hotel ,
we counter some issue during check in process. check in around 5pm and they said the system was down and we need to wait at the lounge until the room was ready. after we check back with the reception, finally they give us the room key. when we get in to the room, it appear the room type was not what we order from. we order deluxe room and when we call the reception for the room type, they said it was superior. we asked them to check on our reservation and they admit it was the room type. they move us to grand deluxe instead after that. finally they settle the problem, but we're wondering if we're not call in to check the room type, then we will be staying at a lower room type then what we pay from. during breakfast, the waiter somehow taking our order and put the table number not for our table. couple of times they bring in the food to the next table, which they didn't order. we order porridge and after couple of time checking with them since the food not come out yet, they give us the porridge but it was cold. it seems it's been there for a while since they mistakenly bring the food to other table and they didn't claim it. it happens to our coffee order as well. some suggestion: train the waiters for taking order and make sure to enter the correct table number as ordered. …
Very well maintained, very friendly staff. Front desk staffs at the reception was very helpful during check in process, got us a splendid upgrade. The pool staffs also very friendly and helpful. A hidden gem in the middle of busy Jakarta. In short it was a very delightful experience.
It would be perfect if you can serve scones for afternoon tea. The bathroom was a bit dirty and smelly even for me, a person with a damaged olfactory nerve. Fauziah & Annisa are the sweetest waitresses. Very polite and friendly. Overall it’s a perfect place to wait for your afternoon meeting (the one that gets delayed) away from the chaos of Jakarta streets.
