After a long flight we arrived at the Amara at first sight it looked very nice thats where it ended we had to take our own luggage into the lobby went to check in and was told our room was not ready not given a time on how long it would be so we sat down no cold drinks offered after 20 minuets we asked if there was a shop where we could get a cold drink we were told there was a 7/ 11 in the next hotel after 3.5 hours we were told our room was ready . we got our swipe cards then she told us third floor up the ramp to the lifts and just pointed we had to take our own cases to our room The room was not the best delux room bed sheets did not fit the bed floor not cleaned tv only had a few channels bath not clean old furniture patched with stick on repairs the rooms are not sound proof like it tells you FOOD breakfast was not so good cold bacon eggs beans hash browns so most mornings we had toast and coffee and fruit The pools were in a bad way and in need of repair loose tiles old sun beds one pool was closed there was only 11 sunbeds for the 2 pools that were open there was nobody at the pools to remove all the empty plates and glasses left by others nobody cleaned the pool or the decking around the pool in all the time we were there the pots got removed that was it in the 7 days we stayed nobody from the hotel asked if every thing was ok when we complained about anything they did nothing but look at you as if you had 2 heads so if you are planning to book this place think again and stay somewhere else this is not a 5 star hotel You need to have a better understanding of what a 5 star hotel is really like

Lovely experience. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Especially front desk Nitya was super helpful. Nice pool in the room. Good to have a pet friendly dining restaurant. Convenient location to Palawan beach and other places. Many thanks

My fiancé and I held our solemnization at Amara’s famous glass pavilion and everything went perfectly thanks to the hotel’s events manager Jason efficient and detailed responses to our never ending questions. It was also dog friendly as our dogs were the ring bearers of the wedding. The guests loved the gorgeous venue and also the food that was served at Shutters restaurant after. Everyone enjoyed watching the resort’s resident peacocks stroll around the venue while exploring the venue as well. Thank you Amara Sanctuary for the memorable day!

These hotel is the worst and terrible hotel that I stay in Singapore. Arrival to the hotel by our own car, even my pregnant wife have to carry her things by herself, not enough staff to help her. Firstly, when I check in, the staff double charge me with the hotel fee although I have made payment through Agoda. Without telling me that the couple suite room is having some leak issue, they told me that it was upgraded to Courtyard suite. But the offer was not what we wanted as my wife have chosen the couple suite for her birthday. The Couple suite room was leaking with water. I forcefully request back to our choice. I was also disappointed whereby I told the Staff that I like to request for a birthday surprise for my wife with a small cake. But no surprise and sound from these hotel. 😡😢 I was totally disappointed on their breakfast that our whole family have to wait for about 25 mins to be seated. Worst we have to share table with others and some customers have to stand and eat together with their family. The customer service given by them was totally unacceptable. The price that we paid was not cheap but I felt that I staying in a cheapest and terrible hotel that do not give any service to their guest. Book at your own risk. These will be the first and the last time that I book these hotel. 😡😡😡

There are hospitality establishments that treat you less like a guest, and more like an inconvenience. This is one. At check-in, I was greeted with: "Your IC (identity card) please". At check-out, the greeting was "you wait first aah". At the gym: "aah so you are from the hotel, you can only use the inside gym not the outside one" At the restaurant there was no greeting, I just sat myself and worked on my laptop for half an hour before someone offered me water. As for the room, the bed was firm. That's probably my favourite part of the stay. There was a mechanical buzzing sound that came from either the a/c unit or the corridor periodically at night, on both nights of my stay. It was annoying enough to wake me up a couple of times. The bathroom had mould growing on the shower shelves: the mould stains did somewhat blend with the tile pattern, but when my shampoo tube scraped against a patch, it moved and came off. Yuck. All the bathroom fittings were either loose, leaky, mis-oriented (turn the tap towards red for cold and blue for hot), or some combination of all 3. I had intended to convey some of this feedback at checkout, which is typically when someone asks you "how was your stay". Unfortunately, Natashia at checkout was too busy ignoring me and phoning a colleague to find out the room number that apparently owed some extra charges. Oddly she seemed to be trying to convince said colleague it was my room. When I spoke up to say I didn't sign anything additional to my room, she gave me the universal hand sign for stop. Natashia also declined my request to speak with a duty manager, saying there was none on site. It seems this hotel is so shortstaffed they can't put a manager on shift at checkout time. As such I informed her I'd have to put my feedback in writing - and since I've got to write it anyway I may as well share it where it'll benefit others. It's unfortunate that this was my experience as I previously had a decent 2-night stay here last year. The firm beds were a standout and a big part of why I came back. But the room upkeep is a real problem. I suppose one could ignore the staff entirely and they won't be an issue; they're quite inclined to give you a minimum of their attention anyway.

I recently had a Pet Staycation under the Pampered Meows package, and had a stay in a deluxe room from 25-27th of July. It was one of the poorest experiences I have had for a staycation with my cat, especially when accounting for the price I have paid. The Good: - Check-in and out were smooth - Staff at Shutters restaurant were very hospitable - 2 metal bowls and cat litter was loaned to us under this package - I got assigned a room with balcony as requested, as they mentioned that rooms under Pampered Meows package normally do not have balconies for the safety of the cats - Was able to check in a bit earlier than 3pm - Swimming pools were not too crowded, but it was also non-peak period on a weekday - Room was fairly large and spacious The Bad: - Apart from Shutters, there were no other food options open nearby, even at Palawan Beach on a weekday. - The television barely works and has very few channels, and my partner had to adjust some settings and wires continuously just for it to have a connection. Considering the price I paid and the 5 star rating this hotel was meant to have, the television did not even have internet access. - The minifridge could barely keep my items cold, at most slightly below room temperature only. - The bath tub was leaking heavily from the base at the side tiles, causing the entire bathroom floor to be flooded. - The toilet floor was mouldy and blackened. - The sink design splashes everywhere when the faucet is turned on. - The glass wall separating the toilet from the bedroom was covered by a large frosted glass textured sticker, but there was a fairly large scratched out hole in it that could have been used as a peephole. - The room door was unable to close and open smoothly, quite a bit of force was needed to push/pull the door from the door frame. - The carpet at ramp towards the lobby area is uneven and a major tripping hazard. - The compound had very poor pavement design without smooth dropoff kerbs in many areas, making it very wheel-unfriendly. - The outdoor flooring around the compound was very uncomfortable for users to be in wheels, as it was super rocky and bumpy. - The buggy service offered was only within the compound, which seemed not too necessary. - The gate towards the open carpark and Palawan Beach was not able to be opened by us, and this was not indicated on the map at all or notified of this beforehand, so we had to make a huge detour back because we were pushing a stroller. - Out of 3 pools, the biggest one was closed. I was disappointed that the sky pool also closed at 8pm, which is very early and I was unable to have a swim at night. - The larkhill terrace pool had no towels for us to dry off, unlike the sky pool. - The sky pool's jacuzzi was closed. - The floor display of one lift does not function. These are just some of the issues we have faced in Amara Sanctuary, not even including the amount of attractions and paths closed within Sentosa that added to the disappointing experience. As a 5 star hotel and at the price point we have paid, we did not expect such mediocre amenities and facilities compared to the other pet-friendly hotels that we have previously stayed at. Hopefully this review will help other pet-parents to make a more informed decision if they were to decide to splurge on a staycation here in future.

Location: Was okay since we took grab to the hotel. Walking to the room was ok too cause its right beside the front desk area. Cleaniliness: Quite bad. There is a purple substance on the floor under the table when we reach. The mattress has a big hole on the cover, it was quite an obvious one that was why we were bothered but it kinda just ripped mattress cover I guess. Pool water is dirty, can see little black thingy floating and there is this sides where there are water in it, filled with dried leaves and seemed moldy. The floor near the pool can feel its moldy? Like its slippery but its not soapy kind of slippery but moldy kind of slippery. Families going for this room have to take note that the lighting is insufficient at night and might lead to unwanted incident like falling into the pool or slip and fall and not to mention insufficient lighting together with slippery fall is a big big hazard. Families with kids or senior should really be cautious about this point though. BTW there will be big insects flying around. Rmb to bring insect repellent if you mind it. But its normal to have them in Sentosa. Service: Acceptable and sometimes intimidating. There is this bellboy which is very friendly when we reach and was helpful when we ask him for help. We actually have 2 of us fell near the pool an one got injured on the toe with a big cut. First aid came over. A man and a lady. Lady was nice and she seemed inexperience doing the first aid but was trying her best with the instruction given by the man. The man later on was quite intimidating as he requested the injured lady to ask the guest to leave. Which of course we understand because additional guest was not allowed. However, the way he do this could be better and less threatening and I mean he specifically choose to talk to the injured poor lady and not the one that booked the room. Later on, they whatsapp the injured lady for a picture of the area where she fell. We took the picture for her and sent over the pic and not even a thank you received. Idk but we still think its acceptable service?? Definitely not good but not that bad either. Can refer to the pic for the picture of the area and just look how dark it is. Facilities: Okay only because its just normal. Conclusion: I wouldn't pay $1k+ for this ever. Mind you, $1k is really for the room not the service, neither the cleanliness ya. $1k+ I think maybe I've got better choice. Please go ahead and try it yourself. Just be careful of your own safety near the pool. Walk slowly, use torchlight if needed. Best is don't use the pool area when its getting dark la.

Beware. This hotel is in serious decline, 3 stars at best. We stayed in a “luxury” poolside room by the Larkhill pool. It was dirty, old and poorly maintained. Phone system is out, room security is compromised by poor door fixtures, the water pressure is out…I could go on. Every day I had to walk back to reception to get something fixed. I’ve stayed at better caravan parks, where there are less cockroaches. And I feel sorry for the staff….they know that the place is falling down, and I think they’ve lost the will to help.
