Horrific nightmare. Wouldn’t stay in this hotel again even if you paid me. 1. Room still had food debris on the floor left behind by the previous occupant. 2. Beds were not made properly (could still see the mattress underneath). Skirting was stained. 3. Room furniture chipped and falling apart. Held together by sticky tape. 4. Bathroom not been cleaned nor maintained for a while. Mold growing alongside the edge of the sinks. WC has scum that has been accumulated over time. 5. Bags of rubbish and laundry and laundry bins lined up along the corridor outside our rooms. When I complained on the first day, they were removed but reappeared on the last day of our stay. 6. Swimming pool has no F&B service. When I asked if we could order some drinks, a staff came up with a…
Expect delays, Zero service. Writing from the hotel. Staying for one night - check in took one hour (pls note quite unbelievably there is zero seating in the lobby while you wait), when they told us room wasn’t available - after much argument, a room was made available. They have (kindly) offered free breakfast but no follow ups. At 10-05pm no one is at the reception of a 5 star hotel !!! And no one picking up the phone for service ‘gold’ (!!), In room dining or concierge! Completely ruins our special occasion and avoid unless you get no other hotel. We went to Rasa Shangri La…100 times better
I’m writing a first review on check in day, night one of a two night stay. Place is old, tired and dangerous in places. My wife has a gluten allergy, went to speak directly with the chef on this through the afternoon. No interest whatsoever, suggested she eat salad and rice!! Our meals are included in the package, we have gone out. Will be posting further and adding photo evidence. But trust me, don’t come here, it’s the pits.
This is my second time choosing Amara Sanctuary when holidaying in Sentosa, Singapore. The location is good and the customer service from their reception as well as Shutters Restaurant is superb. Food from Shutters is also impressive as we celebrated our Christmas Eve at the restaurant.
We booked a courtyard suite, but it looks nothing like the website pictures. Inside: The room itself has a musty smell. The toilet sliding doors are faulty and cannot close; the shower cubicle door is also faulty and cannot close (hence water flies everywhere during shower); the shower cubicle is also full of stains. Outside: The courtyard is extremely dirty with rotten leaves on the floor; the scaffolding / ceiling above the jacuzzi is also old and mouldy. In addition, the paths leading up to the villas and suites are pitch dark at night and we had to turn on the light on our phones to walk back to our room. The condition of the room is disappointing and definitely not the 5-star standard we anticipate. Not worth what we paid for at all.
