The name is misleading - they aren’t boutique pod capsules- it’s a glorified dormitory with privacy blinds and wood panelling. It is clean but frankly the best bit was the awesome roti chennai place round the corner
From the very start at check-in, the staff of this hostel has been very rude to me and my family. They made us feel like we owed them so much for staying at their hostel. They were unfriendly and not accommodating. They also imposed so many strict rules on the place without even letting us know before booking. I am a stickler for rules myself because rules keep things in order--I fully understand. But the way they impose this with so much passive-aggressiveness is UNREASONABLE. If we knew we would be treated like vermin here, we would not have booked.
Extremely rude staff, giving the guests military style drills, so as you can guess there's no vibe there, only unpleasant atmosphere where your very presence and every move/word seems to annoy the receptionists/cleaners. Some of them cannot speak English. The place is cramped and cold (Aircon full on, guests cannot switch off/amend it). If you ask the staff any questions/requests they'll just interrupt and talk you down ('..as I said' style). I had paid for two nights but, after experiencing the place for a few minutes, decided not to stay there and they didn't give me any of the money back.
Stayed here for more than 10 times! It’s totally worth the price! It's safe for single lady because they have a separate toilet for ladies. Friendly staff. Very clean place, free wifi, very close to MRT station & places that you wanted to go.
When you are on backpacker solo trip, this is the best hostel which near chinatown MRT stasion. This hostel is very clean. I rent female dorm for 3 nights. There is female bathroom in 3rd floor. No need to bring your towel, slipper or hairdryer cause these are available there.
I stayed in female dorm for 2 nights. I got the upper deck pod right next to the door room. I asked to move for a lower deck pod because of height phobia or farthest pod from the door but they says they were fully occupied. In fact some pods was vacant that night. Next day I asked if I can move if somebody check out, but they rejected NO. In fact that night they had new guests. The female staffs are so rude, no smile, and unfriendly. They talked behind you in their language. They used 7 super loud codes to enter the room and the door bangs quite hard. Also 7 super loud codes to open your locker. Super annoying. You also can hear that codes entered by guests from other rooms due to open ceiling. Its 5 AM in the morning and guests keep come and go with that silly codes. If you are light sleepers, definitely better find other hostel. They had too many rules like no aircon between 11AM to 2PM. In fact, they switch it off before 11. People travel for different reasons and some just want to have staycation at hostels. You can only store our luggage until 6PM which i don't understand why. I came at 6.10 PM and caught the staff was laughing guilty while took off the secure chain from my luggage. Like they don't want to be responsible if your luggage is missing. That's not how you treat guests. We wont leave it for night and we are not staying for free. I've been staying in hostels around the world or 5stars hotels. But this is the worst service. Some hostels will do their best to accommodate guest, but not yours. Lastly, you should have write all your rules in the description site before people book you.…
if you are on a budget and want to stay at somewhere convenient, this is the place for you. staff are friendly. there is no elevator, if you are carrying heavy luggages with you, please re-consider before you book it
On average, this is a good place to stay if you just need a place to crash while on a short stop-over trip. The availability of a female only dorm is good for female solo travelers. I booked a bed in the female dorm [12 beds dorm] on 31st Dec 2018, and stayed for a single night as a stay-cation. I didn't want to spend too much on a stay-cation as it's a solo stay-cation I'm planning for. Hence, I decided to look into hostel dorm to be a little more budget conscious. They are very accommodating to my special request of wanting a lower level bunk due to a phobia of heights, so for that I'm grateful to the hostel management team. The toilets are kind of tiny and tight in space on level 2, but level 3 females only toilets are much more spacious. However, seeing as I had no intention to climb up and down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the facility - I make do with the level 2 toilets instead. For taking showers, one has to be very careful of the direction that they are aiming the shower head so as to not get the clothes wet.…
rude receptionist! was impolite to my friend (cmon she's not even a robber) at the end, we didn't stay at this hostel even though we've already make full payment for 2 nights stay! management, please train your receptionist!
Great accommodation with a convenient location. The Pod offers an amazing option for solo travelers especially who wants convenience and comfort all in a single location. The services provided was also great. Would like to compliment Travis and Kenneth for offering superb service during my stay with them, and also Hemant for providing useful information about the vicinity.
