I came here for a friend's daughter's birthday party. I think reading the other reviews in here says it all. Singaporeans who wish to book this place for a BBQ / chalet please go elsewhere as it is no longer what it used to be when under the old management. Dirty and disgusting "resort". Avoid at all costs.

We stayed there for a couple of days! It was nice! Loved the beach! It was a wonderful experience! Though we didn't get the beach front hut bt we still liked d stay! Lovely memories! They also have private beach parties at night

We stayed there for 3 nights (Sunday-Wednesday) after the cruise. The resort occupies huge territory next to the East Cost Beach, but it seems we were the only mature customers during our stay. The only other group consisted of about 15 schoolchildren plus a couple of their teachers. We needed to ask for the sheet to put it under the blanket (there was any upon check-in) and some additional towels. The resort does not provide beach chairs for both the swimming pool and the beach, but we insisted and managed to get a plastic chair from the manager. Beach is just across the jogging trail, although the quality of water was questionable as a lot of ships were parked in the sea. The closest food was in about 10-15 minutes of pleasant walk (along the seashore park) away. Try roasted duck from the kiosk in the food court located to the left of resort, if you facing the sea. Excellent duck and very cheap; 3.50 per person. Warning beer is expensive in Singapore; seems to be the same price in the restaurants and stores.…

After check in, so disappointed. No free wifi n poor phone connection while inside the unit. Cockcoaches n ants around. Mattress, pillows, blankets n towel provided so uncomfortable. Old Tv n also not visible. Water boiler not provided for free use. Never n ever will come back again.

Had a night goldkist on 27-12-14. For $185 per night pretty much the same as other advsior said. Check in at 3pm. Room had a very bad odur.tv not working ,no aircon control. Toilet is worst bad neither rusty Or spoil. As the same mini mart workers command u to the stuff and all. At night no lighting outside my chalet. Can't see what we are cooking. At the bed found Germany cockroaches small time. In the toilet are those big ones. No one dare to sleep on the bed. Check out at 8am Will never be back again Will suggest just book a normal pit neither near ur house Or east coast pit. Save the money for a staycation at other hotel

You will required to rent the BBQ pit @Minimart next to the reception counter with $35 which don't include the transportation. And if u need a small table next to the BBQ u just pay 11 $ more. Ok 2 tables and a a BBQ pit comes with 49 $. But now the problem is they don't deliver to your chalet and my chalet was 300 meters away from minimarket. You can show delivery but you have to pay 10 $ each. And if you bring your own BBQ they still charge you for bringing in. Unfortunately no many alternative in Singapore in a good location. Next time the cheapest public BBQ is a better option.

Being an avid tripadvisor supporter i alway read up a place before even stepping into a place. i was therefore extremely worried when i received an invite from my niece inviting me to celebrate her birthday at Goldkist chalet due to its poor ratings. Upon arrival, i was appalled at the place especially the toilet. There were cigarette butts behind the toilet bowl, cigarette ashes on the toilet floor, a not very cold fridge, no shower curtain, mould on the shower head and floor. Mind you this was just the area inside and outside the toilet.... The toilet also had a very bad stale smell. Shocking is the word. My next discovery was when the kids unintentionally pulled out the bed cover and the mattress had a huge brown patch. It was very dirty looking. We thus banned the kids from the bed. We then proceed to BBQ and yes the rental price of $35 is ridiculously high so were the items they were selling there. The light outside the chalet was so dim that we cannot see what we are cooking. Most of the food was either burnt or undercook. Being her birthday celebration, we just ignore all these shortcomings and gave her a good party. The poor girl celebration was cut short as they did not stay over due to the chalet's condition. Most of the units were vacant on a Friday night and it comes not as a surprise to me. I reckon most Singaporeans already know this place is a Con job. Sorry but there is no way i will pay to even step into this place again. I had fond memories of this place 20 years ago as we used to organise BBQs and chalet stay but i will just keep these as memories.…

super rundown resort. the management did not even bother to maintain the estate. cigarette butts and litter all over the place. leaking roofs, moldy doors, dusty bedsheets, noisy beds, noisy aircon, bugs urine stains on the floor & bedsheets, rude service providers! I have to clean the chalet first so that it's decent enough not to scare away guests! Even the mirror also cannot reflect my face clearly....don't waste your money there! their prices are exorbitant, not worth the money!

The words above pretty much sum up everything that is to complain about this very run-down chalet. This is seriously, not suitable for human beings to live in! - Staff: rude and just plain rude. - Room: No word can describe the state of the room and especially the toilet. Moulds surrounding the toilet bowl, smelly room, dusty everywhere, room door could not be locked. Used shampoo and body lotion. It is like nobody has cleaned the room for MONTHS. - MInimart: Attitude of staff is incorrigible. Very expensive items: $35 (NOTE: not $25 anymore) for rental of bbq pit which is non-refundable, $3 for 1litre of brandless mineral water. Everything is bad, bad and so bad that we actually checked out the next day and wasted another 2 days and 1 night! And after bathing in the filthy toilet I actually went home and had diarrhoea and puked everything! NO HUMAN BEINGS SHOULD EVER STAY THERE!…

I went to Goldkist Beach Resort just 2 days ago on 19/09 to celebrate me and my boyfriend's birthday. Firstly, from the website, the chalet we book look good but upon checking in, it was a disaster for both of us. Everything look so run down like some shabby flat. Best part is only upon checking in, they informed us that BBQ pit is not included and we are able to get it @ the minimart next to the reception counter at $25 and wire mesh @ $7 The amount is not a problem. The problem is the service they provided. Besides that we also rented 10 chairs from them @ $2 each and a bottle of 1.5 litres mineral water @ $3 which I personally find it too expensive. All these stuffs are to be bring back by ourselves to the chalet. But we were kind of relieved as the minimart aunty say that she will be sending people to collect it tomorrow @ 11am sharp. However, that is not the end. To our despair, the person didn't come hence we have to carry the pit and chairs back to the shop if not we are not allow to check out. That's so not ethical and professional of them therefore we have no choice but to bring it back to her. In the end we bring back to her and we are not being thanks for the help instead she order us to bring it to the back of the shop for her. Being a girl, I have to do all this instead of being a pleasant birthday celebration. It's a bad birthday experience for me instead of enjoying. I am offering my labour to carry as though I am working. This would be the first time and would definitely be the last time I go there.…
