After eight years, I found myself back in Singapore and immediately checked into the IBIS – a hotel that I already liked back then. After comparing hotel prices in the area, I can confidently say: you really get a lot for your money here! The rooms aren't huge, but they're cozy and spotlessly clean. But let's be real – who spends much time in their room when Singapore, with all its attractions, is just waiting outside? However, if it does rain and you just want to chill, the room is definitely a comfortable retreat.
The breakfast is solid and completely reasonable for the hotel. And the staff? Simply amazing – super friendly and always helpful.
The location of the IBIS is unbeatable: there are three MRT stations nearby, and there's a bus stop right outside. Less than 100 meters away, you’ll find a fantastic food hawker center where you can eat deliciously and affordably. The variety there leaves nothing to be desired!
On the day of departure, I got a sneak peek at one of the freshly renovated rooms. The hotel is currently undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation, and it’s getting a modern makeover – the new rooms feel even more spacious. The renovation is expected to be completed by early 2025.
Conclusion: If I travel to Singapore again, the IBIS will definitely be at the top of my list!

Hotel rooms in Singapore are so expensive so to find a decent hotel, with easy transport access and food locations, at less than S$200 was a good deal. The compact room meets your basic needs, no fancy mood lightning or lovely artworks to grace the wall. It has clean sheets and towels, a small bathroom and pump pack amenities. There is a kettle, glass bottle for refills, small selection of tea and coffees, a small fridge and a room safe. Closet space is quite limited but it has an ironing board which I used as a luggage rack. No bathrobes but there were 2 pairs of complimentary slippers.
It has usb ports and sufficient electrical points.
The location is the best. Bugis St, Bencoolen and Rochor St MRTs are within walking distance. Behind the hotel is a massive night and day market, Albert Food Court has amazingly cheap hawker food. Turn right of the hotel and there is a 3 level OG department store. Further down is Little India. Turn left of the hotel at Fortune Court has lots of vegetarian food shops. Ya Kun Kaya, Killarney Coffee, Toast Box are all within these distances.
Water is safe to drink in Singapore and they have a water fountain on my floor.
Spend your money on food and experiences and stay cheaply at this hotel.
I did not get an opportunity try their TASTE restaurant but I am sure they have lovely food.
No complaints about the staff, friendly and professional. They even called a taxi for me to the airport.

We have stayed at Ibis on Bencoolen a number of times over the years and it is our preferred hotel stay in Singapore. Ibis provide a clean comfortable room at a reasonable price, and the hotel restaurant is convenient in catering special dietary requirements. Friendly helpful staff. Although there was an annoying glitch with our booked upgrade, we were very pleased to be advised that on our arrival from an overnight flight, there was no need to store our luggage, as our room was available for immediate use at 07:00am at no extra cost - being many hours before official check-in time, thank you. Unfortunately our upgraded reservation which included buffet breakfast arranged some four months earlier did not appear to have been registered, and we had to pay for our first mornings breakfast. On balance, we had access to our room many hours before official check-in time which value probably exceeded breakfast cost and was most appreciated.

I stayed for 2 nights as part of tour group. The room is typical Singaporean hotel room, quite small but enough space for a solo traveler like myself. I’ve been traveling in and out of Singapore for the past 23 years, so I’m quite familiar with the area. The location is superb, within walking distance to Little India, Kampong Glam, and Civic District, even to Merlion Park. There’s 3 MRT stations within 5 minutes walking distance, which can take you anywhere in Singapore. Behind the hotel, there’s Albert Hawker Center, one of the best hawker centers in Singapore with quality vendors. Very affordable meals from $3-8 per plate. The few things that can be improved: limited toiletries in the bathroom, no shower cap, or shaving kit. There’s no hand towel, only large bath towel. I can’t really connect my tablet or iPhone via HDMI cable, it has to be via Chromecast, which is not every app support it, and it only worked 50% of the time during my stay. The HDMI outlet cannot be reached since the TV is fixed to the hanger on the wall. But the biggest bummer is the intermittent of wifi/ internet service during my stay. Forget about streaming movies or video, I can’t check videos on Twitter at times. So, if you plan to work remotely and relying heavily on quality & stable wifi, forget it. Go somewhere else.

Located in Bencoolen area, vibrant during daytime but calm at night. Has everything an average tourist needs; good clean rooms, restaurant, baggage storage. We had the room with the back view of the Buddhist and Hindu temples and skyscrappers; it was nice to see the night lights from the room. Easy to move around; walking to Kampong Glam, Little India and Bugis; closest MRT stations are Bugis and Bencoolen. There is also the bus stop just right in front of the hotel which was very handy and a 7-Eleven when needed to top-up cards, buy drinks or whatever whim. The cons? Lots of groups (and loud) tourists and the rooms were not daily freshed. Can’t say anything about the food, because we paid only room.

With extra benefit you’ll get daily replenishment of beverages and snack, although i did have to remind them twice during my 6 days stay there, maybe the housekeeping forgot sometimes You’ll get a phone with internet and free calls Nice deal for paying extra to get extra benefits

I really enjoy staying at this hotel. The location is great, in Bencoolen, close to Bugis Street and Little India, and also near Orchard Road. There are two bus stops right in front of the hotel, and it’s also within walking distance to Bencoolen MRT station.
The lobby feels like an art gallery with many paintings by local artists, including in the rooms.
The rooms have all been newly renovated, so they’re more spacious, modern, and stylish. You can sit by the window, the bed is super comfortable, and I love being able to choose pillows based on my comfort level.
The breakfast menu is complete, offering everything from Malay-Western to Japanese options.
