I had a 6 hour stopover in Singapore between 1am and 7am, so I booked a room at the Terminal 2 branch of this hotel. Unlike the rest of Singapore's gleaming airport, the rooms at the transit hotel need a good, hard scrubbing. Jetlag prevented me from getting any real sleep so I spent most of the night/morning browsing the terminal shops and getting some fresh air on the outdoor terraces. Next time, I'll stay at the newly opened Crowne Plaza just outsideTerminal 3 if I have more than a 7 hour layover.
This hotel has a branch in each terminal of Changi airport. I've stayed in all of them over the last few years. The main advantages are that you don't have to clear immigration, and it is relatively cheap: I paid approx £48 for a single for eight hours, whereas a city centre hotel would have cost double that for a night, plus taxi fares into town. The main drawback is that few of the rooms have windows and so rely on airconditioning - I found the atmosphere stuffy and somewhat oppressive. However the en suite rooms are otherwise comfortable and have all you need to stretch out and sleep between flights.
