Excellent Service and impressively kind Staff. If you want to visit the Megacity Singapore and still have an atmosphere where you feel welcome and family-like, you should stay at Nostalgia. The pool refreshs you after a long day of working. Rooms are very clean and service is done everyday - but just if you want, Nostalgia takes care of the environment and avoid e.g. new sheets when it is not needed.

When I visited the nearest MRT station at the airport information, I was advised to change trains at Tanah Merah (EW4) to Tiong Bahru (EW17). I see a lot of statements about being far from the station, but it certainly took about 15 minutes to walk from Tiong Bahru station, and to top it off, I went in the wrong direction and felt very far. It is actually very close to Havelock (TE16) station on the TE Line. Exit 2 of Havelock station, walk straight down the stairs from the escalator, and a traffic light that looks a little away and directly ahead is the intersection where the hotel is located, about a 5-minute walk. I spent three nights here and there using MRT, but it was convenient to use MRT. The Italian restaurant Lucca on the ground floor offers a 10% discount when you show your hotel card key. Lao Mabu Kagayu (porridge shop) near 7-Eleven is convenient for breakfast. Ya Hua Bak Kuh Teh is also a 10-minute walk away. Tiong Bahru Market is also within easy reach and perfectly located.

Clean & efficiently run hotel. We were promptly greeted at the door when we first check in and everytime we went out/back. All the staff we met greeted us / smiled. We got a feeling that the hotel is family-run and they pay good attention to details. Reception was efficient and apologised for a just launched registration app where guests have to take time to self register - get ready passport details, including for all other guests. Lots of bio data collected here. Am sure its part of Data Privacy Spore. Our Rooms were clean, compact but everything you need such as toiletries (toothbrush, sandals), coffee tea, fridge, iron, ironing board, safe are provided. Our Queen bed were comfy, clean good quality thick bed sheets, fluffy & comfortable pillows. We got a corner end of hall room. It was quiet and we did not have any problem with external noise. Hotel is located opposite Tiong Bahru Market and in between Outram & Havelock station. Both about 10 mins walk. We took an evening walk to Chinatown (about 25 mins from Hotel). We love the hawker food at the TB Market and the early morning walks along the Singapore River. About 10 mins walk to the River and maybe 20 mins walk to Clarke Quay from Kings Centre (check google maps). Great photos of MBS from Clarke Quay.

Nice property in a trendy part of Singapore. This property has fairly small rooms but we chose it due to proximity to Chinatown and only five minute walk to Havelock MRT or same to bus stops. We had a balcony room which I was hoping I could sit at in the morning but way too noisey as it looks over a busy road with non stop traffic, buses and trucks, so wasn't peaceful at all. Be mindful of the filthy floors out there, didn't seem to get cleaned, we put black foot prints everywhere. Bed was reasonable if your short with a long neck, I am 6ft, my ankles where hanging off the end of the bed most of the night, and pillow was very tall and found myself waking up with a kinked neck. Furniture is dated, almost vintage, loved the hair dryer, reminded me of a hotels in the 80's, bathroom was also compact, we had to leave floor mat in front of basin instead of in front of shower due to leaking seal from bottom of shower door, unless you like a half saturated mat before you get out. Normal small mini bar fridge which was more freezer than fridge, we ended up with frogurt for a snack. There is a coffee machine in lobby for free for guests, which is a nice idea. Suppose my biggest gripe with this property was the pool, we where advised on arrival, that if heavy rain was expected, it was locked, next day it was overcast but no rain, went to pool, door locked, went to reception, told this time, if it's not blue skies, the pool will be closed, give me a break, Singapore in January?. So after 4 nights, not once did we enter the pool area. Very poor service. All in all if you want somewhere to only rest your head close to Chinatown in a nice part of town and don't necessarily want to use pool, this would be good place. ATM, seven eleven, cafes, restaurants as well Tianns ( coeliac safe ) all very close by

The hotel is small but equip with adequate facilities in the room. It comes with a small fridge, kettle, complimentary coffee n teas. Nevertheless, it comes with private bath room (you need to select the room with bathroom attached). It is nearby Havelock MRT station n opposite with Tiong Bahru Market Hawker Centre by walking distance less than 200m. The famous local food Loh Mee n Chwee Kueh are located in the 1st floor above the Tiong Bahru Market

Hotel Nostalgia is a really comfortable hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. Very good area to walk around in. It is a really good base as there is an MRT station (Havelock) just 5 mins away as well as bus stops nearby. The Tiong Bahru Market (Hawker style) is fantastic - didnt stay long enough to try all the good food. The staff was friendly and happy to help. The room we got is compact bit everything we needed was there. Just a minor suggestion - having an ice maker (even a centrally located one) would be really appreciated. Otherwise all good . Did I mention that there are so many good places to eat in the area?!?

This is a small hotel in a very trendy section of Singapore. The rooms are very, very small but we were able to make do with the accommodations. I think being so close to so many restaurants, a 7-11, the market and only a few steps to the subway, it far outweighs the small room. We always felt safe when out and about, no matter what time it was.
The bathroom was a nice size and the room did have mini fridge in it. However, the freezer did not work in it.
The hotel staff was very friendly and most accommodating, when we bought a bag of ice from the 7-11 near the hotel they kept in the hotel freezer for us and provided us with an ice bucket that we could use for our evening cocktails.

Hotel Nostalgia is nicely locate near the glorious food area of Tiong Bahru Market. There are a tones of different food and price range to suit everyone and every palate.
There are also a couple of MRT station la nearby - Tiong Bahru MRT (Green) Line, about 15 mins walk, and the new Havelock MRT (Brown) Line, about 6-8 mins walk.
The room is cozy with a Mediterranean decor. There is even a pool upstairs. It’s a bit small to do serious laps but enough for a dip to cool off during the hot days.

We like small hotels with a bit of character. This is in a good location for access to most tourist spots - we used Grab and the prices were very good. The room itself was not huge but that’s in the nature of a heritage building. Quiet, with very friendly and helpful staff. As a vegan the food offer was not for me but Prive just next door is brilliant for vegan food - reviewed separately.

This spot is a gem. The hotel is not five-star and the rooms are smallish, but the location is simply brilliant. If you want to taste and explore traditional Singapore, this is the place for you. Easy access to the MRT at Tiong Bahru or Outram Park. The local hawker market is across the road, or you can dine in one of a dozen nearby coffee shops and restaurants. The management and staff were really helpful (for a small boutique hotel). I will definitely stay here again.
