Staff is courteous and tries to provide decent service. But I have a bad experience (had a dangerous close shave moment) with room maintenance. Glass cabinet above the sink dropped and shattered, sending tiny glass fragments to the bar/sink counter & the floor. Found it very scary to walk around the room for some time and took a while to clear up the tiny glass shrapnel (picture attached). Also, the poor room maintenance is also visible in the open electrical work (wires hanging out over your bed- also picture attached) and a TV remote that just gave up after a few days.
I served SHN at Studio M hotel; the first room assigned was inadequate to spend 15 days due to lack of hygiene and space. The staff did not clean the room, and the structure is under renovation resulting in low quality: mold in the toilet, dirty mirrors, cracks in the furniture, and a stinky smell. Furthermore, the phone was not working for about one hour, and I could not communicate with the reception. I panicked as I felt unsafe even to move or touch anything. After insisting, I managed to get on the line with the duty manager, Paul from the Philippines, who was exceptionally understanding and helpful. Finally, at midnight (from 6 pm), I moved into a cleaner and bigger room. This experience turned out positive as I focused on "the good" rather than pointing what was not working and acceptable. The staff is accommodating, and they are doing their best to help - shout out to Shawn from Singapore who has been patient thought this quarantine. With lousy reviews and without fresh air, hotels under renovation might not be the best fi to serve quarantine. That said, I understand this is an unprecedented challenging situation and everyone is trying to do their best. I hope that moving forward, SHN hotels are carefully selected to make people feel safe and mentally healthy. Fresh air and hygiene are critical factors. Thank you.. I wish you all the very best.…
Upon my arrival from London last April, I was assigned the Studio M where I spent 14-days and dutifully served my mandatory SHN (Stay Home Notice). The group of 6 passengers which arrived and disembarked on the same flight were holed in at the Studio M for the entire 14 SHN days. We were provided 3 healthy meals daily (dietary requirements met) but with no housekeeping service at all. I had to purchase an electric broom, as the old, battery operated dust buster they provided was, literally, not up to speed to clean a room that is about 22sqm, including a loft (which was the only blessing). This SHN stay turned out to be a laborious expedition, and I wasn’t expecting to be cleaning my own room, bathroom and kitchen. One had to request for cleaning detergents, sponges, etc. for the kitchenette, bathroom, lavatory (which was separate from bathroom) because there were none provided in the room. And, expect to change your own sheets, and king size ones too. Linen and towels were well provided for, however, and a fresh set is sent every 3-4 days; sheets once a week. It’s quite ironic considering that in a pandemic where hygiene and cleanliness should be of utmost concern, these were sadly lacking in this instance. Finally, to all new and future arrivals -- I wish them an enjoyable stay, and do keep well and safe, because all these little glitches and oversights are forgivable after all, as in life, as nothing matters more than staying safe and protecting your love ones. Bon Voyage!…
Good location with many accessible F&B outlets . Friendly staff. Modern rooms and affordable price. Convenient location, with bus stops and a few MRT nearby. Walking distance to clark quay and chinatown. Not forget to mention the staff there, very helpful when we asked some good restaurants recommendations.
Strong smell in the room and terrible hygiene and cleanliness. Human hairs everywhere even in the basin, dirty stains which probably caused the smell. You can even spot part of chewing gum and melon seed shell next to your bed. pls refer to the photo, I dare not to examine them closely. not to mention the service attitude of some of their staff, my goodness...
