Our extended family of 6 adults enjoyed Lyf Funan. We rented the 4 bedroom unit for 4 nights. Pros: - Convenient location: City Hall MRT station is an underground 10-15min walk thru connected shopping malls. Numerous dining options close by. Pharmacy & Groceries available within Funan Mall - Clean: room was as described. Compact but clean and comfortable - Staff: friendly, but did not interact much with them Cons: nothing really to speak of. Our unit was simply a place for us to sleep and recharge, and it met our expectations Tip: ask for password to faster wifi account
The luf Funan Singapore is an adequate if not above average hotel. The design of the room was extremely smart and the view was nice. The room was small, though. Looking at locations, it is placed very nicely in the city centre next to the Singapore River. Transportation wise, it it close to City Hall and Clarke Quay MRT stations. It is also only a 10 mins walk to China town. Overall, the room was in a good design and comfortable and clean. The bad side was that this room was overpriced. So value for money is only an OK.
Stayed at studio one of a kind for 5 nights for business trip. Located above Funan Mall. Lobby at 4th floor, nearest access from mall entrance with the McD one. Room was clean and all in order. There is water dispenser at each floor for all tenants use, also fridge, kitchen sink, and ironing board. Hotel don’t provide breakfast but can easily get from the mall, such as Toast box and ya kun which already open from 8 am. City Hall MRT entrance can easily found from Superdry lobby entrance, head left. Also underground access from the mall basement B2, very convenient. For general needs, you can shop at Fairprice supermarket at the mall basement.
I needed a hotel for one night and wanted it to be convenient to get to the airport. Lyf is a very interesting option and I am glad I stayed here. It sits in a massive building where levels 1-4 are a mall, and 4-12 is the hotel. It reminded me more of a dorm room but very cozy and with a very comfortable bed. The water pressure was great, it was nice and quiet, and I appreciated the 100 restaurants within 2 minutes of my room. It is not fancy, but it was exactly what I was looking for. A 5 minute walk from the green line, which takes you directly to the airport. The mall is full of high tech stores: Xiaomi, Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP, etc etc. and lots of really cool modern stores with an amazing assortment of products. I had a pleasant time at this hotel and the staff was very friendly. It seems to be a place where young people enjoy staying since there are common areas, laundry facilities, and a lot of space to make friends and meet people. …
I needed a hotel where I could book a relatively cheap 2 night stay because of a late flight and check-out being needed. Some hotels are charging so much currently but I could get a good deal here and I enjoyed my stay. It is quirky, there is a little bit of fuss around an app before you stay which I found a touch confusing when dealing from the UK before arriving in Singapore. However, the hotel is funky and fun, perhaps aimed a generation younger than me as a 49 year-old businessman, but hey you can't discriminate these days! Basic room but clean, tidy and helpfully functional. I had a good view from my room of the fire station and greenery of Fort Canning Park. Great - and I really mean great - shopping centre within which this sits. There's a real buzz in the City around Funan Mall and I could see why. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.…
1. I am leaving Lyf after my first day as the wifi was barely functional on any of my 3 devices and aside from being slow and disappearing every other minute, also felt insecure. 2. When you reach the Funan Mall you realize that Lyf is a "coliving", not a hotel - it says so right on the door. I think co-living rocks, but this one also actively operates as a hotel at comparable prices to nearby hotels. Why pay same for a room that has no TV, no carpet, no swivel chair and other hotel amenities? I am sure long-term residents pay much more reasonable prices. 3. The location is good, but there are many other hotels dotted all around this immediate area. 4. I am not sure I like the idea of a mall hotel sharing the entire lobby with the mall; if you use the laundry facilities you are actually doing it on the 4th floor of a public mall. Japanese are masters at multi-purpose buildings but unfortunately this property has learned nothing from them. 5. Wooden fold-up chair for the desk... Do you really want to be working in such conditions?…
Stayed in this hotel at least 3 times over last 1 year. We booked this hotel due to location and recently we found that hotel is very dusty. There are many areas that housekeeping team didn’t clean properly such as “cupboard” where the hangers were placed. My spouse suffered from swollen eyelids due to the dust. Terrible experience!
I've been here a month now. In Lyf Funan, every Monday is a big cleaning day. My room always has little insects flying around it, and occasionally one flies into my eye. (See image below) I requested that the staff clean my toilet where the insect came from before the cleaning arrived. These photos were taken immediately following room cleaning. The cleaner never cares about the toilet, my pillow is unclean, and there is dust everywhere. Additionally, the front desk staff is unreliable. Lyf is ideal if you don't care about cleaning.
The hotel is in the center and it had perfect location. The place is very clean and all the stuff are really nice. You have there laundry, drinks coffee and more. I would definitely recommend this place.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom appartment in Lyf Funan. The design is cool, modern and clean. The location in a shooping mall is fantastic. We could go down to the basement resturants and order takeaway to take up to the appartment. When we were going to the subway station "City Hall", we used the underground pedistrian foodpath from Funan mall to City Hall.
