The room we booked oversees the park where plenty of people jogged, hence we have to keep the blinds down when using the bathroom. The room was beautiful, spacious & clean. Bathrobes are available upon request. Not sure if this applies to all or just Premium Rooms, because I had watched a Youtube review prior to the trip and it showed a set of colourful bathrobes hanging in the wardrobe. His was a more expensive room though.

We were here for a short staycation over the weekend just to recharge.
We enjoyed the gym & pool. There's a coffee machine in the room (Nespresso, I think?).
We also had a leisurely morning walk at the Fort Canning Park before we checked out.
We did not opt for breakfast as the restaurant is not Halal-certified.

In all, a beautiful hotel with beautiful greenery view and serene environment. A must stay if you wish to be away from the hustle & bustle of the city.

The hotel describes itself as a five star hotel. There are of course different ways of reaching that description depending on country, services, facilities, accommodation, staff, etc, etc. I don’t think I would call it five star myself due to limitations in the breakfast and other dining facilities but, because of the interesting nature of the hotel, it’s historic and low-rise character in a quiet location in a park in a city full of traffic and towering and massive hotel blocks, together with it’s interesting suites, rooms and the service, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, I feel guilty in reaching that conclusion.
The hotel is really an historic, boutique and character establishment quite unlike the majority of accommodation to be found in Singapore.
As well as its peaceful location in the park the hotel is within easy downhill walking distance of two MRT stations, as well as Clarke and Robertson Quays and Orchard Road. Unfortunately the uphill walk back is a bit of a pain, particularly if you have mobility problems, but taxis are easily found and it’s a small price to pay for the pleasure of the hotel.
I would be very happy to return.

Dear MichaelShortlands, Thank you for your kind review. You are absolutely right to refer to us a boutique hotel, because that is exactly what we are: a luxury heritage boutique hotel. However, our onsite facilities and availability of room types have resulted in us being categorised as a five-star property, for which we are grateful but also humbled. Regardless of the categorisation, our singular goal is to ensure that our guests enjoy their time with us, and we are certainly glad that you did. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit! At your service, we remain.

We were told this is a 5 * hotel, but no way. Closer to a 3* max. Upon arrival we went looking for reception only to discover that it is literally a desk tucked under the stairs ! The room, a double deluxe, was ridiculously small for the size of the bed, or the other way the bed was ridiculously big for the size of the room. Yes the bed, was a lovely size but you had to edge your way around it to get anywhere. The bathroom was a lovely size, but it is very unsettling to have windows floor to ceiling looking out onto a public footpath that goes round the perimeter of the hotel. So, it is necessary to have the blinds fully down all the time, making the room dark. The room is operated by 2 control panels that operate 2 sets of blinds, all the lighting and air con, which takes some getting some used to. The air con was very noisy, meaning to sleep we turned it off that in turn made it very hot. Lack of storage in room, no room for cases, had to leave them in the bathroom.
The public facilities. There is a bar. On our first day, at 11 am while waiting for our room, we went there to get a coffee. No one serving. Dirty glasses still on the bar and tables from the night before and crumbs and mess on the floor. The bar was manned by who ever was working on reception so they were running back and forward.
We never dined in the hotel so cannot comment, but we did have breakfast each day which was fine but for a 5 * hotel was extremely limited. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
We understand that the hotel is due complete renovation works very soon which might offer some explanation. We would strongly suggest not staying at this hotel until all works are completed.

The hotel's location was incredibly convenient to the historical district and many shops and iconic landmarks in Singapore's history. After a day out, going back to the hotel was a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle because the grounds were quiet and peaceful, despite its central location.

Highlights of the room included the lovely bath overlooking the skyline, and the Nescafe coffee pods and TWG tea in the mornings. I ordered the Chicken Congee and Nasi Lemak for breakfast from room service, and was not disappointed at all. It was tasty and satisfying.

The staff were incredibly thoughtful and friendly - from the room's cleaner, the concierge and the restaurant and bar staff - they made my experience better.

Great place to spend a few days in Singapore. Stayed in a deluxe king room for 3 nights. Most notable parts of our star were mainly around our check in experience, we arrived earlier than check in time as scheduled but staff offered us access to the Health Club facilities to shower, and within the five minutes it took for us to get down there the Health Club staff were expecting us and had towels and locker keys ready. After spending a few hours walking around the city we were sent a WhatsApp message letting us know our room was ready. Whilst not in the bay area like other hotels, Fort Canning park is a nice change to the surrounding urban areas and the MRT is cheap and easily accessible from the hotel. Overall, despite a moderate (30 ish minute) walk from the tourist spots in the marina, Hotel Fort Canning offers the opportunity to stay at a historic property at price points that are unmatched in Singapore.

Third to fourth stay over a period of 10 years. From being a nice hotel it has slowly deteriorated. Not 5 star. Poorly maintained.Stayed in room 327. Shower doors stained and mouldy. Really tired looking. No bath robes provided.Breakfast awful.Staff at bar seemed to be untrained students unable to find a bottle of white wine.Manager came to "assist" by smiling and walking off.Front desk very good. Great location and a beautiful building which internally has not been looked after. Restaurant manager needs to clean his shoes . Handed a piece of paper and a biro when entering the overpriced and sad breakfast buffet to decide on what eggs I wanted to eat before even sitting down. Food tray "decorated" with plastic ivy looking plants. Not very hygienic.Whole place looked dirty.Whoever is responsible for the day to day running of this hotel needs to start training staff on how to do their job and communicate with paying guests, provide them with outfits that are clean and fit, implement an effective hotel cleaning and maintenance program and improve the catering. The facilities available would warrant a 4 star rating but not in its current state. Wont stay again.

We celebrated our wedding at the hotel in late September 2024, and it was a truly splendid experience from start to finish.

From our initial contact with the hotel, we were impressed by the prompt and efficient communication. Brian, the Banquet Sales Manager, worked closely with us throughout the planning process, and we are deeply grateful for his thoughtfulness and keen eye for detail. He provided invaluable suggestions, walked us through the various packages with great patience, and was wonderfully flexible in accommodating our unique requests.

IzWan, who guided us through the use of the Audio-Visual equipment, was incredibly helpful. His recommendations on how to best present our media made everything run smoothly.

A special mention must go to Hussein, the Banquet Manager, who, along with his team, provided exceptional support during the event. His attentive, personal approach ensured that everything flowed seamlessly, and his timely reminders kept us on track without a hitch.

We stayed for two nights and were thoroughly delighted with the experience. The décor was beautiful, the rooms were immaculate, and when we returned after the event, we were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful bridal arrangements awaiting us—a bottle of white wine, glasses, and an adorable pair of fluffy squirrels, which added a charming touch to the whole atmosphere.

Thank you to the entire team for making our wedding such a memorable and special occasion.

Hotel Fort Canning is a quiet, green and calm place still walking distance away from the city centre. I have visited the location before but this is the first time staying. The conciërge manager was very helpful in accomodating my needs for needing a room with fresh air. Check in was smooth although early check in this time wasn’t possible (can arrange in advance). Thanks Sungeetha for helping me have a pleasant stay you always were super friendly and assisting!

A beautifully restored colonial barracks with a fascinating history that stands as a lovely oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling Singapore. More than once I have had taxi drivers unsure of where to go as they didn't know it existed. It has two pools, one of which is a lap pool that apparently uses the same NASA technology to ensure filtered water without the use of chlorine. It's like swimming in silk. The food is to be fair only just ok, but the dining staff are wonderful and who cares when Boat Quay is just over the hill. The rooms are quiet and peaceful and the overall vibe is delightfully languid. I will be back again

No intrusion, no noise, no interruption to quietness. It's well separated between the wedding auditorium & function room and hotel accommodation. If you are lucky, you may have a chance to meet the beautiful bride and bridesmaids for few minutes. Otherwise, it's peaceful, pleasant and quiet.
