I stayed at Fragrance Hotel Classic for two nights. The staff were nice and friendly. They let me check in earlier.
The hotel room is small but bearable. But the bathroom is really tiny that you cannot move freely. It was clean though.
My story goes like this, the cab driver on the way to the hotel with my girlfriend in the car explains that this budget hotel is a “love hotel”. His explanation quickly becomes apparent during the night and into all hours of the morning with the constant opening and closing of the hotel lift and the tapping of high heel shoes up and down the passage. The hotel is used for quick HOURLY BOOKINGS for PROSTITUTION, to put it simply, as confirmed by the staff the next day.
The rooms are cleaned by noisy cleaning staff throughout the night as the rooms are vacated and then quickly refilled, following the disgusting humanly acts that are performed in there. The tiny rooms STINK of cigarettes, as does the bedding and even the towels in the toilet. Its FILTHY, DIRTY and FERAL beyond words. The beds mattresses are made with PLEATHER (plastic leather) I suppose so they can clean them quickly. Its BEYOND DISGUSTING, I’m writing this so that you don’t have to go through a similar experience, don’t stay here. I didn't get any sleep and was moved to the fifth floor to a less noisy room at 5am after completely losing it!!!!
The hotel staff is very helpful.
The hotel is located quite near the bus station. There are many local restaurants around the hotel which most of them open til very late at night.l, also small shopping plaza, and a theater. Also there's a 7 mini-mart next to the hotel you can find whatever you want around here.
You can easily go to wherever from here by bus.
I would say this is a pleasure stay one.
At the Fragrance Classic they said they upgraded us to a bigger room - which took us by surprise when we see how small the room was. It was really2 small, reeked of old furniture, and have dirty stains all over the corner. The bathroom was even worse. It's about 1sqm - one side has toilet seat and sink, and the other side has shower and door. So you could imagine, everytime you shower, the whole bathroom will be soaked. WORSE - the water leaked outside from the door, creating a mini-flood in our room. They don't even have a trash bin in the toilet and don't even provide a decent bathmat.
Thankfully, aircon and water heater is working properly. TV has only 1 watchable channel. Other good thing about it is that it's located right next to 7eleven, right across Boon Tong Kee, a little walk over to McD, Founders Bakkuteh and other Singapore's best street delicacies.
Overall, this hotel is quite dreadful. If it wasn't for it's the cheapest hotel we could find (and honestly not even cheap!)- we wouldn't want to stay here. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, and will not come back. Rather pay more for a better hotel.
"Did not see any evidence there were any good rooms. Other guests were complaining as well as ourselves."Read full review

"Eventhough, the room is quite small but among the small there are the "not too small" room. You may ask the hotel if they have a room the restroom is near the door, this type of room is a bit bigger."Read full review
