Is good because it is cheap and clean and they are helpful. I fear that if it gets in the Lonely planet will become expensive and lazy like most other places once they get in LP.

We spent 3 nights at the Green Kiwi and it is by far the best three nights sleep i have had in three months of travelling. It has fantastic facilities. amazingly friendly and helpful staff plus good location. Really good value for money, made our stay in such an amazing city all the better.

Booked at the hostel website but they did NOT bother to give me a confirmation email whether my booking was confirmed or not. When I reached the hostel the receptionist checked me in reluctantly with that blank look on the face.

This is a nice place with comfy bed and fluffy blanket, roof top garden to chill out, good shower, gourmet coffee with brown bread and fruit for breakfast but a pity with the service - the staff seem only friendly and attentive with the other guests who were non Asian.

There is a old English man - all wrinkle and stooped over - who appear to stay there on a long term basis who is loud, noisy and girl crazy who constantly acted stupid just to get attention whenever he see a lady, or simply get very close to you then stare at you like he has never seen a woman before. Disgusting old man. So girl if you travel alone stay away from Green Kiwi. And if you are not white may be you also want to stay away unless all the hostel in Singapore are fully booked and do not mind the frosty reception and the cheeky old man. Take note also the shower room is unisex so if you are unlucky you might bump into the cheeky old English man parading himself inside. Another odd thing i noticed was apart from the cheeky old English man you hardly see and meet other guests. Strange place. NOT recommended

Terrible beds, dirty covers, mattresses with springs hitting you and over washed, scratchy, uncomfortable duvet and pillow cases. We were excited to come here after reading all the great reviews! Unfortunately, it wasn't what we expected. We booked a double private room (young couple) - were shown to a tiny room with a bunk bed. There was only room for a bin in the room. Curtain didn't cover window and single glazing on a busy road. Music being played and noise until about 4am. Only come if you're a group looking to go out every night!! Shower is good but again not very clean and very hot in bathroom area! Staff were OK, tried to double charge us for some things but were helpful with directions. Good for big groups looking to go out every night and rooftop area for socialising. Near to metro stations also

We arrived from India extremely worn out and really appreciated the cleanliness and friendly service this hostel provided. The girls on the desk were all super super friendly. Our room had a mix of American, Malaysian, German and Irish ranging from 20-60 years old.
Would reccommend this hostel to families and young people alike,

I had a thoroughly good experience at this hostel. It's clean, quiet, has free unlimited wifi and computers if you don't have your own. It's a 5-10 min walk to the closest 2 MRT stations, one of which goes straight to the airport. It's minutes from really good cheap hawker food and Little India - great for food & shopping at the Mustafa Center. I am puzzled by the negative reviews. I recommend this hostel!

Booked a private room at night, the website showed room availability and allowed late check in (after midnight). Called the contact number umpteen times but no one picked up.

So we went all the way to the inn, only to find out that the reception counter is closed. Called again but line was cut off.

If the reception counter cannot be open at all times, please don't allow late check ins; if you don't intent to pick up the phone, please don't put that as the only contact number.

Reaching the inn after midnight with no place to stay isn't a fun experience. I will never be back again, and will make sure my friends do not visit this inn as well.

Stopped over in Singapore after a trip in India - Green Kiwi was perfect for our family. We booked a 6 room dorm for us which was excellent. Very comfy beds, excellent shower, yummy breakfast, great wifi. Were really helpful with our small kids.

I spent 2 nights at this hostel and I would highly recommend it. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the place is spotless. There is a nice terrace on the rooftop of the building where you can relax at the end of the day. Of course, the expresso machine was a big selling point for me and the fact that the breakfast is included (toasts, fruits and your choice of coffee or tea)!

Also, it is located a few blocks away from Lavender metro station, so access is easy.

This is the second time I stayed in Singapore and I must say this is the best place to stay. It is located near the Lavender MRT station which is very convenient if you're arriving by plane. The owners/managers are super nice and will do whatever it takes to provide you with a home away from home. We stayed in a double room which has a bunk bed and a window and an aircon. Everything was super clean and super cosy. I especially liked the breakfast with very very good coffee and the roof top terrace where we spent a lot of time in the evenings with other travelers. The beer is cheaper than in 7 Eleven!! If you need a computer or need to do some laundry, they will also be able to help you out. Oh yeah, not to forget the rainforest shower...
I absolutely loved it and would always come back!!
