I had an great 4 nights stay here at Green Kiwi. Its situated between 2 tube stops so transport into the city is excellent & cheap. The hostel its self is clean & new with plenty of rooms. Each bed in the dorm rooms had 4 plug sockets which i loved. There is a big roof top terrace to chillout on day or night. I had some top nights up there with people id met at the hostel. The staff are so friendly & all ways smiling. Free breakfast every morning which goes on till 1 oclock so can still have that lay in if you've been out the night before. Fresh fruit & toast & plenty of it. Happy days.

This is the first time I booked here. Took some gamble to book it solely based on reviews in TripAdvisor.

I contacted them to inform that I will be arriving midnight, and asking their advice of means of transport from Changi since MRT stopped working at 11pm. They provided me with very good tip (a shuttle car from Changi for $9/pax).

Upon arriving, eventhough I had asked for lower section of the bunkbed, they assigned me on the top side. Since I arrived at 1am and the staff already gone I have no choice but to take the top bed. However this was fixed in the morning.

Overall the stay there was OK. The breakfast was plentiful. But the entrance has an unpleasant odor due too many shoes laying around the front entrance.

Stayed in a private room at this hostel. It was tiny, not even a table to put anything on. The room had bunk beds and barely any room to move at all. The photos of the rooftop terrace are not what you get whan you arrive and I don't know how they could even advertise it since it is just a complete wreck. Everything is broken, clearly they never go up there to clean or straighten anything out. Nowhere we wanted to spend anytime. People crashed out all over the place at all hours and the whole hostel just stinks of BO all the time. I guess if you are a young backpacker on a budget it would be fine for a few nights but honestly the rucksack inn right next door looked far better. Showers were nice but that is about it. I would never stay again and was more comfortable laying on the benches at the tokyo airport during my layover. Sure they are friendly and may even remember your name but overall not a good stay. Noise all night. Room right by the busy street. I would keep looking.

I stayed in a dorm room for four nights. It was a little bit disruptive, with people coming in and out all night, but otherwise quiet and clean. The bathrooms are plentiful and the wifi strong.

The closest MRT stations aren't all that close and when it's so hot, the walk becomes a drag. But I soon discovers that the 133 bus leaves from just outside the front door and that took me everywhere I wanted to go. The bus is great.

Just across the road is the Lavender food market where you can get good, cheap food all hours of the night.

Excellent hostel, staff were really friendly and helpful, and in a great location. Great place to meet fellow travellers. In short it has everything you need and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I would have no problems staying here if I visited Singapore in the future.

I stayed at this hostel a week, traveling alone in a mixed dorm of 6.

This hostel is busy and bustling, with a good common area that is always populated with people using the free computers and wifi.

A short walk from the boon keng MRT station, I would suggest spending more time on the underground to transfer between stations and get off here, rather than getting off at MRT station lavender and walking to the hostel if you have a suitcase instead of a backpack. On arrival you will have to pull your luggage up a steep set of stairs.

The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean. Partly due to kind roommates (which is always subjective) I slept like I was in my own bed.

The lockers are small for select valuables only, so bring a lock for your luggage.

The roof garden is gorgeous, although not really used much, as the beer is available through reception downstairs and nobody seems to make the journey to the roof to socialise.

The hawker centre across the road is fabulous!! And the beer is cheaper if you drink 600mm tiger instead of the small cans.

This hostel is moderately social but is a bit far out of the city and major cultural areas so most people leave at night. If you are looking for a more social time, I would recommend the green kiwi sister hostel in bugis, which has a street front and is a good place to hang and meet people. The sister hostel is not as new, has larger dorms, and a kitchen, but is in a more exciting area.

This is a good, clean and friendly place to stay.

There's no doubt to stay at this backpacker hotel. Great, informative and friendly staffs with also informative reception and internet area giving you a lot of informations for anyone who haven't visited Singapore before. The internet provided (both on free-to-use Desktop and wifi) are fast and giving it more credit for me. Tidy and clean room could give you a good rest after adventuring Singapore on the day. Great location with close to bus stop and 3 MRT stations give you an easy way to travel to anywhere.

I stayed at Green Kiwi Lavender. Wow, at first I was a little worry, since there was a photo with a s*it in the rooftop. My worriesome is gone! I arrived there and Nesti welcome me, with a really good english, another staff are really nice, helpful also, and homey atmosphere. I got a female dorm, the bed is really nice, clean, met some asian and western travellers, some nice ,some are making noise while i slept. Facilities in green kiwi are the best, shower, toilet, wifi, internet. Really worth to stay! 15 min to Lavender St, and 8 min to Boon Keng St by foot, there is a bus also, had a food court open near the hostel. Nice , I really had a nice stay :) thanks! Will definitely stay here again, maybe in Bugis.

I've stayed here 3 times now so you can guess how i liked it.
I traveled with my brother and we stayed in an 12 dorm.
the staff is so so friendly. the beds are clean an really good for hostels.
the showers are warm, but you want a cold shower when your in that heat and its clean.
I liked the breakfast, you got as much toast as you want with fruit and you could choose between good coffee or tea.
The location was really good, near a really good food court and little India.
the MRT was a 7 min. walk and you could get anywhere from there.
And the free wifi was good and fast.

The only minus was that the air conditioning was up a bit to high so when you got outside it was like an oven and at night the club on the other side of the road thought they were alone so the music was a bid loud. (use earplugs)

A friend and I stayed for our 2 nights in Singapore. We shared the twin bunk room - very basic - bunk bed, mirror, bin, air con, window. No space or storage but fine if you're spending all day exploring Singapore anyway. Shared (both gender) bathrooms were clean but quite warm! Breakfast was most welcome; computers have fast Internet and the place has wireless too. The food market across the road is cheap and good. Kiwi is located a way out from main sights but it's a 10-12min walk to the nearest underground stop. I would recommend Kiwi as a base for those spending just a few days in Singapore who don't want to spend loads on accommodation.
