I have been staying here for about 4 weeks and the housekeeping service provided by Yu Rong is very good. She always comes by our place with a smile and our kids enjoy chatting with her. She even makes the kids’ beds with their extra blankets and pillows, stacking them up as per their request. The location here is also convenient with a small mall located just right below the apartment, ensuring that we are always kept full (by the fast food establishment, food court and restaurants) as well as necessities ( quick hair cut, NTUC hypermart etc).

Well furnished rooms with necessary household items. The location of these apartments are in a secured residential place where you can find all the food court in the ground and first floor. It has a Private swimming pool in the 4th floor only for village residences. Good service by “SURAYAH” with her professional services twice a week. Thanks to ‘SURAYAH’ for her hard work and deduction. She is very polite and professional at work. Clean the room and all necessary items very well. I really appreciate.

Generally, the staff are helpful. The housekeeper assigned to our unit, Vani, is very friendly and efficient. She keeps the unit clean, neat and tidy.
The deluxe unit we stayed in is spacious and the air-conditioning keeps the unit cool.
The location of the Village may not be central but Singapore is a small country and it is easy to hail a taxi at the Hougang 1 Mall.

We used this place while we were renovating our condo (2 months). The staff (Yu Rong Li and Tang Yu Rong) are great, the service is exceptional and all staff are friendly and helpful. The support they provide is definitely the most memorable part of staying here.
Apart from the service, the unit is a bit dated. Style is old and the bathrooms are the original from 20 years ago when this was built. The water pressure in the showers was terrible and we were told could not be rectified. The curtains were terrible, if you're ok with a lot of light while you sleep, it's ok.
Overall the residences are good value as we were able to accommodate the whole family (3 bedrooms) easily and comfortably (the beds are at least new and good). Would recommend this if you're renovating your place and need somewhere to stay for a month or two.
This is really a case of the service staff making up for the bad points of the premises. They are definitely the best part of our stay!

My family and I stayed at Village Residence Hougang for a little over a month.The apartment is located near a heartland mall that has a supermarket and a wide selection of food choices. Lots of bus stops nearby. We booked a 2 bedroom unit which was fully equipped with all items you need in a service apartment. The building / apartment was a bit dated though, but not a deal breaker. The service crew is top-notch -- Mr Vijay, the Duty Manager, was very friendly and accommodating; Ms Surayah from housekeeping, was courteous and friendly, and kept our place clean and fresh; and even the security guards on duty always greeted us with a smile. Overall, had a pleasant experience and happy to have stayed here.

We recently stayed at Village Residence Hougang. The apartment is very comfortable and the amenities are well provided. Also the location is quite good as it's got a mall right besides it. Above all the staff are very helpful and courteous. If the house keeper noticed any issue she would on her own inform the other staff who would quickly come and fix the issue which was a pleasant surprise. We would like to thanks Vijay from the management and Vani from house keeping along with all other staff and security who had been extremely helpful all throughout.

The housekeeping is being done every other day and you always find the bedrooms, living room and toilets as clean as possible. Uma from housekeeping service is so meticulous and diligent in her work where she made sure the entire house is clean and beds are perfectly made. Good work.

We stayed here for almost 2.5 months (family of four with older children) between November 2020 to February 2021. The facilities manager, Mr Vijay, as well as all other staff were wonderful. They attended to all our needs in a prompt fashion. There is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, and a small gym. There is a small mall about 3 minutes walk that has a large NTUC Fairprice and other stores and restaurants. there is also a subway close by as well as an Indian grocery store in about 5 minutes walk. The housekeeping comes three times a week which is also very convenient. There is a parking lot below in case you want to rent a car in Singapore.
There were several families with very young children as well. In addition, there were many business travelers as well. Thus, it caters to all types of travelers really well.
All in all, it was wonderful while we were looking for a permanent place to stay in Singapore. We were very sad to leave it. It felt like home. Anand

I am writing this review while I am still staying here. We’ve been staying here since July and this place will be our home till Jan 2022. We had a few unpleasant hiccups initially but Miss Suraiyah (General Manager) personally attended to us and immediately made good. We greatly appreciate her coming forward to manage the situation and she made us feel welcome. I like to give the following staffs special mention.
Ain is a very conscientious lady who constantly follow up on issues and check in on us. Very efficient as well. Lily is a great worker always ready to serve and help. Izam is the best handy man that we met, very customer oriented. Both Lily and Izam are assets do the Organisation. Zeyuan, a very respectful young man and clean our apartment very well. Vani & Surayah both ladies are very efficient in their cleaning. Shuba always make an effort to step out of the security room to greet us and my doggy - very nice touch.
We are enjoying the quietness of this place. The pool is really nice. A big supermarket is also located next to it. The building is quite old but the management of this place does make up for all that. I look forward to enjoying the next few more months here.

There are 2 bathrooms in our 2 bedroom apartment. Bathroom in the master bedroom is equip with a long bath and the common toilet is with a standing shower.

There is a complimentary transport arranged by us for stay 1 month and above. For stay lesser than 1 month, you may take public transport either via taxi (approximately 25- 30 mins journey) or train & bus with few transits require (approximately 65 mins).
From Village Residence Hougang to Orchard Road, it takes about 45 mins via public bus & train, while via taxi, approximately 25 mins (depends on the traffic).
As for Universal Studio, you may take taxi which takes about 36 mins journey and via public bus & train will be about 45 mins.
As our premises is next to a shopping mall with a bus stop right in front of the mall, thus it is rather convenience for anyone who would like to go to the nearest MRT (Hougang) which only takes about 6 mins bus journey.
