I stayed 8 nights in Room 409 facing the quiet back alley. Hotel Santa Grand is a beautiful colonial boutique hotel, located in the heart of Katong with its many eateries, cafes & a 3 mins walk to I12 Shopping Centre. I booked directly with Ms Sylvia Goh, Manager who was at the Front Desk when I enquired & I had an awesome deal at $130 nett per night. The Superior Single room is cosy & comfortable & this could be one of the newly renovated rooms. It is well outfitted with a kettle, tea & coffee, 2 bottles of mineral water (on day of check in), iron & ironing board, hairdryer & bedroom slipper. It even has ample power plugs. Room is perfectly cleaned daily. Super! For breakfast, I walked across the road to Chin Mee Chin (next to Holy Family Church) or to Plain Vanilla Cafe. For dinner, I headed to either Five Star for zhi char or to I12 to grab a beef pie from Huggs Collective. Tim Ho Wan is another choice. So convenient & accessible. A stay here is highly recommended.…
We hadn’t booked into this hotel, but our booked hotel turned out to be a COVID-19 facility! What a blessing in disguise this turned out to be for us. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. The hotel also has a roof lap pool and spa which was so nice to help us recover from jet lag. We also really enjoyed the lovely restaurants and shopping centres in the area as well as the close proximity to the bayside parks and beaches. We accidentally came to stay at this hotel but next time we visit Singapore, we will book it on purpose!
Clean. Good location. Relaxing. Many places to eat. Nice roof Swim pool. Near Beach well not so near but its there about. Good staff. Good price. Too many words to write here trip advisor. Keep it 50-100. Still lagging need 100 more. My beer is finished still on this hahaha
This is an old hotel in a great location with a rooftop pool, and lots of great restaurants nearby. Easy access to East Coast Park and Beach, plus great night life nearby. They have spacious rooms and a nice pool which is on the rooftop, so overall a great city getaway for a cosy value staycation or traveller as you get to explore the Katong area
We can't speak highly enough of the hotel and the wonderful staff. They were all so kind and helpful to us when we stayed with our little girl. I recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Spotlessly clean rooms, great AC, hot and powerful showers and a bath tub. Mary on the front desk is wonderful as are her “bell captain” and the level 2 housekeeping team. Best fridge ever in a Singapore hotel, a good size, really cold and it even had a freezer compartment. Bed is quite hard but that suits me just fine. Wifi overall was good although it did get a little slow in the evenings. I didn’t use the pool. I had hoped to spend a few hours sunbathing but the area doesn’t really lend itself to that. Great location near to many funky cafes and bars on East Coast Road and Joo Chiat Road. The only tweak I’d like would be to have hand towels or smaller towels in the room too please. Also, it’s worth noting that this hotel is not currently offering breakfast under Singapore’s current coronavirus protocols.…
Santa Grand is perfectly located if u r looking to feast and go cafe hopping as there are so many superb cafes, bakeries and eateries right on East Coast Road. We took the eat, stay, play package on the hotel website which was amazing value. Paid only $105 inclusive of a $38 dine voucher at Platypus Cantina, the Mexican restaurant and bar downstairs. It serves delicious food and cocktails. The deluxe room was spacious, staff very homely and friendly, and the rooftop pool was small but lovely. Do book asap the pool , as only 8 pple can be in the pool at any one time due to safe distancing measures. Overall, Santa Grand exceeded expectations.
I just spent 2 nights staycation at Santa Grand East Coast. The hotel location is excellent with bus stops, good eateries and shops nearby. It is also within walking distance to Parkway Parade and the colourful peranakan shophouses. Front desk officers, Siew Chu and Jia Ying, were very friendly and polite. Siew Chu also gave good advice on nearby eateries and showed me some room types on check-in. I paid extra to upgrade to a corner room which is bigger with floor to ceiling window which overlooks a nice neighbourhood. The room is also quiet. The housekeepers were friendly, efficient and polite. Everything in my room worked. It was clean, bed and pillows very comfortable, shower consistently hot and bed linen and towels fresh. The hotel is excellent value for money.
Decent accommodation for the price. Clean room. Wonderful location for food with lots of good choices in the neighbourhood. Everything was great except for 1 small but basic niggle - they believe in only giving 2 small bottles of water on your 1st day ....
I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in Oct from 14-17. Decided to book direct with the hotel because being a hotelier myself Id like for the hotel to not pay any commission to 3rd party OTA websites and also sometimes there might be a better deal too! Cons first because no stay is ever perfect right? 1) Dealt with Jimmy from Reservations and to be honest he was a tad rude and unhelpful, I just asked him if there were any pricematching and if there was a better deal and he cut me off stating if Im not happy with the rate I can book it through a 3rd party OTA website. Geesh not a fantastic start (Please retrain him to be nicer to customers or get him to learn from your Front Office or housekeeping staff who were all really quite nice! In the end spoke to Christine who was the Front Office manager or HOD and got a good deal for 3 rooms! I requested for an early checkin for my room as being the BDAY girl I had much to prepare and transport to my room to set up, asp my instructions the staff was supposed to call me when the room was ready, but apparently I was forgotten till I called back myself at 1130am and guess what the room was ready already and it was all set up at 1030am!! TBH I was a bit annoyed at the staff Mery for overlooking but thank goodness after that she seemed to improve and she was really nice if not a bit forgetful.. I checked in around 12 plus, set up all my things and the rest of the staycay was pretty nice and relaxing except for the walls were really thin. I could hear very clearly what the next room was doing but not a big issue. Except for when it came to my actual BDAY celebration, We were informed by the Front Office that we were noisy at 915pm!! I was a bit irked as by Singapore Law and based on my many years of experience staying at various hotels, all guests should lower their volumes by 10pm, sadly the hotel sided with the other guest which disappointed me greatly, On top of that my aircon stopped working at 1pm and no matter what I did the room was very hot and stuffy but I tolerated this as I was checking out soon thus coz of these 3 experiences I ranked this hotel not 5 but 4 stars only.. Now for the pros of this stay! 1) Room 203 even if it is a physically challenged room or handicapped room as some hotels may state in their websites, it has a bathtub and the fridge well the minibar was exceptionally cold which was awesome esp since I had to chill so many drinks! 2) Room aircon was nice and cold at 16 degrees which was the perfect temperature for me! 3) The beds were super comfy and pillows nice and fluffy this I never had any difficulty sleeping! 4) Most staff were nice EXCEPT Jimmy special mentions and huge thanks to Christine for arranging the rooms to be on the same floor and near each other as well as loaning me extra chairs/ Phang and Hong from Housekeeping who helped me to carry my whole box of drinks and for being so very helpful/ Jiaying from Front Office who was very helpful in answering all my questions on one of those nights I called in to check on some facilities in the hotel/ Sam also from Front Office for being very accommodating with my friends and for being very hospitable and lastly Mery whom I will forgive for forgetting to call me back because she is a pretty nice person too! 5) Location was perfect for me coz I am a huge foodie and this hotel is within walking distance to all the yummy Foodie Haunts and only 15-20 min stroll to the beach for a wonderful sunrise or sunset! 6) Lastly another pro of this property is they have a pool on the top floor which is simply amazing because the hotel is a 3 star hotel or a boutique hotel! All in All Id rate this whole experience an 8 out of 10 and would highly recommend this to anyone who would like a relaxing staycation in Katonmg/ East Coast Area!…
