There are serious staff issues at this hotel. It feels like a bare bones operation. At breakfast you cannot sit down and someone will come for your coffee and hot dish order. No, you have to actually get up a few times to chase down a server. Maximum 1 person at reception. The pool bar has long waits as well. Not only that, it seems staff is not trained properly to provide a pleasant and welcoming service. Then there are too many small issues when added up, make for the low rating: - We got a sheet with restaurant timings at check in but they can and will close the main restaurant at random evenings without notification. There is the option to eat at the pool bar but that is not that pleasant for a sit down meal. - Welcome drink voucher says' drink for each guest staying in the room' but that is not honoured. 2 drinks only and not for the 3 of us. - At check out the 100 USD food credit was not deducted. I had to prove at 4.30 am that I was entitled to it even after confirming at check in etc. After digging at the screen they did find it eventually but that is no way to treat a guest. - Facilities are very limited. Small gym and very small pool. Bar closed in lobby. I know they go for the boutique vibe but this is too minimal for the price paid. To give a few positives: No problems with housekeeping and tablet in the room for lights, TV, curtains etc worked very well. Often those things are a bit gimmicky but here it worked brilliantly. I always stay at So Singapore as my first choice for my trip in Singapore both short or long stay. I rarely have enough time to have breakfast in the morning but when I did, it was very disappointed. I have waited for the food more than 20mins and no one really pay the attention to ask or offer utensils, most of your staffs seems like pleasing with non-Asian guests more (The restaurant is quite empty) My food was served to the wrong table as I was told after I was sitting there doing nothing for 20mins and I have no time left to eat until later on in the evening. I have mentioned this to the front staffs but with there were no following action after or a single apology or some action to show care to the guest.

I stayed at the SO/Sofitel for a few days on a business trip, and had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable, and is near a lot of nice sights and good restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying here! Ben and Ismail were very welcoming ☺️

Great location and close to transport. Satay street was just across the road from the hotel with a lot of eating options. The staff at the hotel, including Ismail and Ben were very helpful with giving directions on where to go. The room was always clean and tidy.

Decided to visit the rooftop bar with my friends for a nightcap after our satay feast and it was the best decision ever! The bar ambience was great! Love the pool view and the night lights. Nisdya greeted us with a friendly smile and even assisted us to take great pictures! Ally was also great! She was patient and friendly :) we asked for a recommendation for drinks and she made us the best drinks to our liking! Thank you Nisdya and Ally for making our night! We look forward to visit again!

This place had it all, groovy interior design by Karl Lagerfeld - so you know its out there in an old world charm building (very romantic) with the best staff ever. They were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Oh, also in a great location. Breakfasts were also really great and came with the room on our package. Absolutely recommend this great hotel experience to everyone.
