A quick 2 nights stay in the hotel. As per before, nice hotel and great hospitality. This time round , stayed in the stateroom suite facing the Fairmont hotel. Had dinner at the Yi by Jereme Leung Chinese restaurant. Very nice food and was given a 20% discount as an Accor plus diamond member. Will be back again.
Unlike the magnificent Waldorf Astoria in NY, you can't just enter and have a look around. The tall Sikh dressed doormen will prevent you from doing so. There's a separate entrance for guests, who use their beautiful leather room card to enter. Check in is very VIPish. Taking you through the divine hall entrance, with peoole having high tea and a traditionally dressed harpist, you go to a private room away from the reception area and you sit down on a very comfy armchair to a welcome drink and are then taken to your room. There were lots of "wow"s from me, since walking into the main hall, in fact right upto my departure. We were in room 247, with a balcony facing Palm Court and were lucky enough to have witnessed a wedding photo session just in front. We were given thorough explanations as to the modernity of the beautiful, huge room and bathroom. Using the ipod, you can control everything that is electric. Curtains included . The mattress was one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept on. A safe, bathrobes, slippers, daily beverages and fruit .... everything is present. The furniture, decorations and sheer beauty of the room and bathroom were a delight to the eyes. The Japanese style toilet was most amusing. As soon as you open the toilet door, the lid opens and warms up. When you're done , press on a button, choose the pressure and position, and you're washed. Then dried. :) Unfortunately the Tiffin room was closed, so we had dinner at the Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious but the air conditioning was so cold (in spite of the shawl they lent me), that we ate up fast and went to the Writer's Bar. Dylan, the friendly barman concocted us a lovely personalised drink. Breakfast was plenty. You can order anything and everything, all delicious. The big pool is fantastic to just relax , with drinks and snacks. The final touch of luxury was the Raffles limousine taking us to the airport. This is a hotel where one just doesn't want to leave, but work awaits at home. …

This was the second time in the Grand Dame each time back the experience was better than the last. We spent all our vacation days in 2020 on staycations and it would be an understatement if we said that the service at Raffles is second to none. We have travelled widely and stayed at hotels of every category - but we are proud that the best hotel is actually in our own backyard. The Raffles team has surpassed all of our expectations. From the comfortable limo ride to the warm welcome of the entire team at the front, the seamless check in, the attention to details by the butler. Everything was perfect this time! There were even little touches to enhance the already-opulent experience - the offer to take a photo as you walk into the beautiful lobby, the welcome Singapore Sling and the in-room high tea. Thank you for the best experience yet in Raffles. With that, how can I not return?…
An immaculate weekend celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in this iconic gem. The Raffles Hotel staff delivered beyond expectations to curate the most unforgettable stay for us. We have staycationed half a dozen times over the past 6 months and the quality of our stay at Raffles surpassed all of our past experiences over delivering in luxury and elegance. Like many of you, I had pictured 2020 and the start of 2021 differently and had intricate plans to celebrate this milestone event outside of Singapore. If given a choice, I would not have celebrated it differently. I found myself daydreaming in splendour whisked away to a golden era as soon as we stepped into the bright and opulent lobby. Our experience kicked off with a historical tour about the hotel’s rich history, architecture, and past guests. From pre-arrival to post checkout, the staff, the surroundings, food offerings, and service were faultless. We dined at nearly every establishment from Chinese at Yi, Steak at Butcher’s Block, breakfast at the Tiffin Room, Singapore slings at the newly opened Long Bar, lobster rolls on the beautiful pool deck, cocktails and Boules at the Raffles Courtyard, and tipples at the Writers Bar. And who can forget the elegant La Dame du Pic, by 3-Michelin-star chef, Anne-Sophie Pic where I celebrated my birthday last year. Every single detail was thought out, from the beautiful touches of the hotel’s history with writing excerpts and local gifts laid out during turn down service to the hospitable butler service and thoughtful touches to commemorate our anniversary with personal notes from all of the staff. I will definitely be back and long for another weekend at the Padang Grand Hotel Suite.…
