Furama City Centre hotel stands out for its exceptional location, nestled close to Chinatown and various Singapore attractions, as frequently commended by guests. The cleanliness of the rooms generally meets traveler expectations, although some would prefer more regular housekeeping. While the service garners compliments for staff friendliness and efficiency, experiences with room quality vary, with certain guests suggesting updates are necessary. Amenities are acknowledged for their convenience and family orientation, yet some believe a refresh is in order. The overall atmosphere is considered comfortable, but opinions on value for money are divided.

Did a short staycation and chose to stay in the Premiere Club Room, main difference is that there is a really nice bath tub and a separate shower. The bed is very comfortable that my husband says its good cos he didn't get a backache (He's very particular about beds). They also allow you to choose the pillow type.

Unfortunately, we didn't have proper shower condiments like shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer. They gave us the same bar soap for the sink and the toilet. The hot water is crazy hot everytime. We didn't bother asking for it cos we just made do with it.

The check in service really needs improvement as my husband felt that the service staff was just trying to chase him off. Disappointing. And when they delivered the pillow and also the bucket of ice/glasses we requested, it was done without even greeting and more of a "here u go and bye" kind of attitude. We wanted to tip but he rushed off, so I guess we saved on that.

The executive lounge service was definitely better and they do come to your attention when needed and the food got replenish when it was empty. Decent food and drinks offering, has a big TV so that you can watch CNA and catch up on news.

As for breakfast at Tiffany's Cafe, the variety is decent, has a live egg station and had a good meal. Unfortunately, I think the staff need to remind guests not to sit on tables that do not fulfil the 1m distance. I didn't know until I saw the sign.

The gym is smaller than the Riverfront one and it's in the same area as the laundry machines ($8 per wash/dryclean). Saw it has some weights and even a water cooler (which is great).

The pool is pretty small so it's more of a dipping pool than the swim laps.

The hotel is also doing some renovation, so it warns guests that it starts from 9am to 6pm.

The main thing that is the selling point is the location, it is very near Chinatown Point, which is near Chinatown MRT and also Clark Quay MRT. If you are a foodie, you can stay here and eat all the various kinds of food at Chinatown area.

Oh, and the view from my room was fantastic.. The skyline had the Singapore Flyer, MBS and all.. really nice!

We stayed at this hotel as part of the Singapore Stopover package.

The location in Chinatown is excellent. Connected by overhead walkways to China Town Point Shopping Centre as well as People's Park Centre there is plenty of food and shopping and transport within 5 mins of stepping outside the hotel.

The staff were welcoming and helpful and on check in we were kindly upgraded to a Deluxe Room which was very comfortable, clean and spacious.
The bed was excellent and very comfortable.
The bathroom was spacious and had a separate shower.
The toilet has a very strange siphon type flush mechanism which doesn't always work and I found it very frustrating. Then all of a sudden it randomly works.
The hairdryer is located and fixed inside the drawer of the desk. This is a bit odd.

Overall the hotel decor and facilities are dated from the hallways to the stained carpets to the lifts (with the annoying card slots).
The pool area is very small and there isn't enough lounges for seating/relaxing.

Breakfast was included but we preferred to walk outside for a local meal at one of the many hawker centres nearby.

Currently the hotel is undergoing external renovations. I don't know if we'd stay at the Furama City Centre again but certainly we enjoy this location.

Had two stays at this hotel, one for 5 days then a 3 day stay at the end of the holiday. Check-in was very good, although automated a member of staff was available to assist. Our original "executive" room had a great view being on the 23rd floor, but looked tired - furniture scratched, carpets messy. After a quick conversation with the receptionist, we were moved a little further away into an executive deluxe room which was much better. Location is excellent, being on the edge of Chinatown and within walking distace to both Clarke Quay and Boat Quay. Marina Bay only takes about 30 mins walk along the river. Chinatown MRT is approx 8mins walk. Breakfast is very good with ample choice for both Asian and western tastes and regularly replenished. We ate out in the evenings but noticed that the dining room was always very busy which is a good sign especially as Singapore has so many eating options. Had limited use of the pool, there is an external refurbishment going on and it does impact on your poolside comfort and the hotel really should have let prospective guests know about this when booking, but as we were out most of the day, it wasn't too much of an inconvenience.
It is well worth paying for an executive room, apart from a free breakfast you also have use of the executive lounge where form 1800 - 2000 hrs there is a free bar and some really nice canapes / snacks. Warning, the lounge does get very busy for obvious reasons. We booked direct with the hotel and got a good rate.
Special thanks to Pauline on reception who was always very helpful and a credit to the hotel. Would certainly stay at this hotel again.

The service at this hotel is absolutely appalling. When I asked if I could get more bottled water sent to my room, I was told that I can just drink the tap water from the toilet. A ridiculous response to such a simple request.
Then when I kindly said that I would prefer to drink bottled water, they said that they would send some up for me. After waiting for an entire day and calling them 5 or more times to remind them, they kept saying that they would bring it up and never did. Not only that but the front desk was virtually uncontactable as they would blatantly ignore calls (literally 10 times in a row), and only pick up when convenient for them. I would only get a response maybe 1 out of the 10 times I would call them. And this is the front desk that we are expected to call in the case of a fire or a medical emergency...
This is by far the most disgusting level of service that I have ever experienced at a hotel, and for anyone who is considering staying here, I guarantee that you will receive better service at a motel. For your own sake, please do not stay at Furama City Center. You will literally have the worst hotel experience ever.
This only covers the issues with service and staff. There are a number of different issues related to in-room facilities and the virtually non-existent internet connection.

I booked a Deluxe Double room several months in advance. When I arrived I found scaffolding and dropsheets on the balconyo, an ironing board that collapsed in use, poor lighting around bathroom mirror and curtain off ring. I made a list of complaints and took it to the manager. Within hours I had been moved up to a far superior room at no extra cost, offered a free dinner and had my pillowcases changed every day. It was excellent. The hotel has an interesting and entertaining vibe. I would certainly stay there again - but not in a room on floors where renovations are being carried out!

We went and did a pre check-in registration in the morning when there was no queue. They even gave us a call when the room was ready. We came in and the check-in took approx. 10mins. As per our request they provided us a room on a higher floor. The room was huge with beautiful view. The breakfast and complimentary snacks in the executive lounge was okay for the price that we paid. Avoid room dining-in as we found the food quality not good. Lot of markets and hawkers centers within walking distance with great food. We were luckily able to book a swimming pool slot but the water was rather chilly in the morning. The TV in the room was not working and they were not even able to rectify the issue. The room will be cleaned only after three days of stay but they will replenish the items upon request. Visit at a less busy time for better service.

Revisit the hotel 2 years later. Despite its location and cheaper rent, I feel the hotel is deteriorating in certain areas.
1. The hotel uses a new AV system to replace the old TV system. However it is difficult to use, only Mediacorp and CCTV channels are available, and the signal is always interrupted
2. The in house WiFi only has a fair use limit of 4GB. Do you think this is sufficient? (Though you can reconnect afterwards)
3. The ventilation system of the corridor should be improved.

Booked through third party website, upon arrival, there were two front desk agents, the gentleman was doing some bills settlement and we were being served by a lady. There was no smile (even though she's wearing a mask, you can tell if there's a smile or none) and her tone wasn't cheerful to greet the guests. My boyfriend was standing at the empty counter while waiting. Another guest came along and the male front desk agent, showing his hand gesture "shoo" my boyfriend away so that he can attend to the other guest without saying a word. Not professional at all.
After we checked into our room, we wanted to use the kettle and there was water in it. Did housekeeping not check and pour away the water while cleaning the room?
The water heater was another issue. No matter how we turn the knob, it's hot water. And very hot I must say.
Overall, room was ok but there are other area of concerns which the Management need to look into.

There was a great deal on connecting rooms so I decided to book for a bigger place where everyone can sleep comfortably and no need to fight for the washroom.

Location is great. There is a connecting bridge to Chinatown Point where Chinatown MRT is located. No problem with local food as Hong Lim is nearby. Clarke Quay station is also nearby. We were moving around by train and no worries about traffic as it gets pretty heavy during peak periods.

The rooms were a disappointment though. It's OK if the rooms were aged. But we were given rooms where everything was falling apart. We had 1 TV set in each room. Both were faulty. TV boxes need to be constantly restarted and content was available in 1 but not the other. Showering was a pain as the heater had issues. Hot and cold water cannot be controlled. WiFi was intermittent. Hair dryer didn't work. Certainly looks different from the pictures on Internet.

No complaints on service. Service was prompt when we needed towels, water, pillows etc. Check in was fast and we got a room even though it was before check in time.

Stayed from 23 Dec (check in) to 27 Dec (check out) 2021. One of the worst hotel experiences ever.

Check in was problematic. Stated in the booking we wanted a single king sized bed but was told only rooms two twin beds were available at the point of check in (~3.30pm). We had to wait 2h for the room with king sized bed. We decided to wait.

No room cleaning services at all. When asked, hotel states cleaning services only happen on the 3rd day of stay.
On 24 Dec morning, a bag of towels and things to replenished was placed on the chair. Rubbish and used towels not removed.
On 25 Dec morning, the towel bag was placed outside the room, on the floor - very unhygienic. Just pure laziness, as the previous day they showed that they could at least leave it on a chair in the room.
On 26 Dec (the supposed day of room cleaning), there wasn’t even towel replacement. We headed out at 11am and informed reception to clean our room as it was our 3rd day of stay. Receptionist recorded on a piece of paper our room number and said ok. Came back at 2pm and room is untouched. Called reception as we needed towels to shower, to which we were told to wait as someone would be heading up. While waiting, we noticed the staff wheeling cleaning equipment approaching every single room except ours - to which we were extremely bewildered. Continued waiting and called reception after about 45 min, to which we got the same answer. So we gave up and decided to rest, placed the privacy notice outside, but got interrupted by a hotel staff spamming the doorbell. While walking to answer the door, the hotel staff unlocked our door (even though we clearly displayed the do not disturb sign) - extremely unprofessional behaviour. The staff then proceeded to pass us new towels but no cleaning was done that day. We were so infuriated and disappointed with their staff that we did not bother contacting them any further, and decided to clean the room ourselves, tidying rubbish and used towels and placing them outside our door.

Other than our experiences, we also noticed long queues on 24 Dec and 25 Dec evenings for check in. This is similar to previous reviews stating long waits for check in.

On 23 Dec (check in date), noticed that gym was fully booked from all the way to 26 Dec and pool was fully booked till 25 Dec. Do consider that you may not be able to use any of these facilities given their capacity.

In summary, definitely will NOT recommend Furama City Centre for your stay, especially for the price they are charging. It is likely that you will not get the level of service you are expecting.
