Worst experience ever ! I have few points to be highlighted when I say I had the worst stay in that hotel ..first one is the uncooperative approach from the hotel incharge staff in front desk .I think he should be given some guidance class on how to interact with customer .Next thing is that they don't provide free wifi ..its just fake offering that they wrote in their facilities list.Next thing is very poor room service..we had to ask and get all the toiletries from them which excluded toilet papers.linen sheets weren't clean..feel like it was previously used and not washed.washroom lighting is very bad.Next thing is that room was dusty, water wasn't coming we had to call them and ask for water to come twice.plus, he was constantly bothered about money..that we should checkout right by 12 pm or else we will be charged 200 extra for each late hour.plus he should improve his communication skills for his own sake and for the hotel as I mentioned before. He told us that he'll turn the pipe on when we ask for water ..or else we won't get water supply in our room ! The stay was very disappointing!! One more thing ..there's no complementary breakfast or hotel inside .Please don't think about choosing this hotel .

While searching for a reasonably priced, centrally located hotel that would accomodate four adults in one room, I stumbled across "The York Hotel". The hotel sits gently behind the Far East Plaza in Scotts Road and the location is stunning. Its nestled in a quiet area but is a few minutes walk to Orchard and Scotts Road which makes it appealing. I was also lured by the reviews from previous guests which commented on the clean and spacious rooms and the expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Our room with two double beds was enormous with a functional desk, a walk in robe and dual vanity in the bathroom. Importantly the shower was excellent with a powerful shower head and easy temperature control. What also made the stay outstanding was the sheer comfort of the beds with their crisp linen and supportive pillows. All family members stated that this was the most comfortable beds we had ever experienced on our travels and we all had a great night sleep. The staff were responsive and in particular the cleaning lady so warm and eager to attend to our needs. The front desk allowed a late check out to be extended for a small fee so that we could have a day stay before our late flight in the evening. It just made everything so easy! We all loved "The York Hotel" and the tariff per night was incredibly inexpensive for the location and the size of the room. It definitely met our needs in Singapore and we will return for another trip to "The York".

While the location was the main reason I initially picked York Hotel, I quickly realized that the service is great, restaurants and room service was good, and I loved the style of the hotel.
Having a bathtub was something we always enjoy and a comfortable room, soft bedding and a crisp-clean feel made for a very enjoyable stay. They had nice chairs, very spacious rooms and near to a lot of amenities (Starbucks being one which is very important to me!)

The only pleasant thing about this hotel is the food,beverage and housekeeping staff. It is an incrediably dated hotel.
I had a non smoking room yet I could smell stale smoke in the hallway as well as in my room. Was disgusting.
The furnishings on the room were depressing and the mattress was like a brick. I woke up each morning sore from head to toe in pain.
The TV was not easy to work out so gave up. The toilet didn't flush properly at all as was weak and required many pushes. The shower took 10 mins to warm up with hot water and shower heads not fit for purpose.
I ended up checking out a day early, whislt the girl on the desk said to me that it was a day early for checking out and my breakfast and room rate was non refundable, she never asked me why I was checking out early.
Don't you want to know why a guest leaves early?
I hope you use my forfeited room rate and breakfast to go towards a complete refurbishment as this hotel is in dire need of it and is clearly a 2 star not 4

It was located near Orchard Street, so it was easily accessible, and I was overall satisfied. The subway station is farther than expected, and the bus stop can be reached in about 8 minutes on foot. It was especially nice that there was a locker room at the pool where you could change your clothes. When I searched on the Internet, other hotels in Singapore had very small rooms, but I was surprised that the York Hotel had really large rooms. I plan to visit again next time.

I stayed here on a trip with a friend. Location: It was about 30 minutes by taxi from Changi Airport, and it was very convenient as you can easily get to major tourist spots by bus or train. There was a 7-Eleven nearby, so I had no trouble shopping. Room: It wasn't particularly clean, but it was cleaned every day and I think it was clean. The water pressure in the shower was weak and the temperature was unstable. I often saw small insects that didn't fly, so it might be difficult for people who really don't like insects... Breakfast: It's a buffet style. I stayed there for 3 days and enjoyed it without getting bored. They make omelets and French toast on the spot. Service: All the staff are kind. When I asked for a taxi, they were happy to arrange one. I'm sorry that I could only speak poor English, but they were kind and helpful. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity to go to Singapore.

Frankly, the Kitchen is Not Halal certified. But you can have your breakfast of Bread & Butter, Cereals, Coffee or Tea, boiled or half-boiled eggs, fruits, fresh juices. These are usually not prepare with Non Halal foods. There other alternatives is you can take a 4 minutes walk to Far East Plaza, where there are many shops which are Halal Certified you can have your breakfast, such as Perata, Nasi Lemak etc..
There are more places to choose from in the Singapore area.
