Quiet hotel near Robertson Quay, staff were fantastic especially David one of the restaurant floor managers. Had the feeling the hotel as well as Singapore was still struggling out of Covid, no riverboats, no shuttle service from hotel. Probably a week is too long.

Hotel is fair but same as every hotel, thirteen in a dozen. Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor not very special, only very expensive. A single Tiger beer in this hotel about 15 SGD whilst next door you buy a large bottle of Carlsberg or Tiger beer for just 7 SGD. Breakfast although is quite ok, also European style and fresh cut fruit. However no bacon to come with the morning fried or scrambled eggs.

First room we were given Incredibly basic and air con did not work After going to visit the pool noticed the or con worked on other floors so went to desk and raised our concern They were not overly happy but gave us a second room Arrived to find air con worked but was also extremely basic and had a double bed Given the air con worked and we were only staying for 5 nights we were happy to stay until we worked out the safe did not work going back down to desk A staff member (turned out to be a manager) was in lift asked us what was happening she offered to come change the battery in the safe Went back to the room She attempted to fix it… after 20 minutes she left us in the room and came back with keys to a 3rd room Went there air con worked, safe worked and it had a queen bed Still incredibly basic but better than the other 2. Would have been nice to be able to open the window but they were locked shut Was supposed to get an upgrade according to our travel booking No idea what an upgrade would mean… but imagine it’s not great from what we saw Included breakfast was nothing to write home about- again it’s basic buffet breakfast Trying to book tours/tickets to attractions we were told they could not help us we had to do it online. As we were not using our phones on roaming we were unable to do this as booking online the systems required to send us a text message. Hotel offered no alternative assistance Pool was nice but the spa was covered up and not allowed to use for the 5 days we were there. No facilities in the pool area except the pool and a few chairs On day 3 we noticed Nearly every door on our level had a chair wrapped in plastic outside it Came to realise when plastic wrapped food was outside those doors the whole floor except us were in isolation Not sure that’s appropriate to have nearly a whole floor of ppl in isolation with one room of non isolation people??? Location was good Doormen were very friendly and tried to be helpful (front desk staff could learn from them) Not sure how they get 4 stars. It’s a very tired old hotel with very basic rooms and facilities.

Hotel room is decent, and included what was expected. The hotel policies is absolutely ridiculous. First we have been trying to extend our stay, as it turned out we needed a few more nights, however, apparently those night was more than 50% more expensive / night.. Amazing way of keeping customers at a half empty hotel.. Second, when we wanted to use the pool, which required multiple trips to the front desk and was a hedious process. First we went down there around 9:40, but due to their hourly timeslot, we could not use the pool until 10 (Covid rules, fair enough..). But then the rigid staff comes in to play, we are not allowed to pick up the access card until 945, even though we could not go until 10. Which means we had to do multiple trips up and down to the front desk. And then at 11, when the pool was completely empty, we were still forced down to the front desk to "Check" if there was any available spots so we could use the pool for another hour and so on..

Me & my sister stays in this hotel, room are consider small for us, as there have only 1 study table, can't really squeeze in 2 of us, and we both need to work with laptop, requested for an extra table, got rejected, reason given was can't find any available table, they suggested us to order 1 more room with extra pay, or buy own table from online ( sweat face). Study table have drawer at both sides, we keep hitting on the drawers corners, bad ergonomic design. Food are so so, big portion but taste could be improved. My blanket linen was over wash and full with flurry bumps, requested for a replacement, they did it, no more linen issue but new blanket very dusty it cause my nose allergic, sneezed whole night. Air con is too old and very noisy , we just turn it off all the while, but there still have bizz bizz sound, super annoying. TV was too old, low resolution, it's voice sometime loud, sometimes slow, need to adjust everytime when chance channel or TV chance programme, TV channels basically local channels. No pantry for kettle and cups, need to share with study table, while only got 1 power point for study table ( sweat again). Bathroom is consider good, vanity basin big enough for our toiletries, but shower area no shelves for shampoo bottles, need to put on floor. Room design is old fashion like 10 to 20 years ago. Sound insulation not good, can hear the machines sound from window. Poor views from my room =( As summary, 4 star hotel but 3 star facilities, not worth for the money paid, unlucky we can't choose the hotel for SHN.

Stayed here for a couple of days during Covid times. The room size was average, room was comfortable. TV screen could be bigger. They should add more Indian channels. Food was ok but vegetarian spread was limited and I ended up eating same items for both days. Gymnasium needs serious upgrading. It doesn't suite the hotel at all. Staff attitude could be a little more friendly. They were not rude but could do with a more friendlier approach.

Hotel is located centrally near Robertson Quai and easily accessible, this is the main advantage of this hotel. Staff seems to be friendly but is quite rigid and unfortunately not solution focused. Kitchen is average, probably great for Chinese or Malay Singaporeans, but not a match for Indians or Westerners. Wifi is very slow, modem needs to be restarted on a daily basis. Beds are okay and quite large, so is bath room. Rooms are outdated and small and worst of all very dirty, I found hair and food waste everywhere. Difficult to walk barefoot as things tend to stick to your feet. Also not possible to open windows, on request only possible to open max 10 cm. Whole atmosphere is quite depressing, so recommend only for very short stay and very good price, but for sure there are better options around.. This one is a No-Go.

Stayed here for 1 night for a mini staycation in March, after travel restrictions kicked in but before the lockdown started. Paid only $87 on Agoda but without breakfast. Pool was closed because of the virus concerns. We had a decent and quiet room on the 14th floor overlooking the pool. Hotel was virtually empty so there weren't any issues of neighbour noise. Beginning to show its age, but the room we had was in good condition. Fast wifi. Insufficient hooks and towel rails in the bathroom. King sized bed, slightly uncomfortable mattress. Convenient location within walking distance of Tiong Bahru and Robertson Quay. Worth considering at this price level for sure.
