Hotel Miramar Singapore garners appreciation for its cleanliness, with numerous guests commending the fresh state of rooms and bathrooms. Despite this, the décor has been called out for being dated by some.
While the location is generally celebrated for its convenience to transport and attractions, opinions on service and amenities vary; helpful staff encounters are counterbalanced by complaints of unfriendliness, and while the food options are a hit, the hotel's facilities, particularly the pool, are sometimes seen as outdated. Concerns about value are punctuated by mixed feelings on room rates and buffet prices.

Detailed Reviews
The location for this hotel is good. Not far from Havelock station. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. Food is below average, the bar is very expensive but one thing really going for the hotel is the staff reception staff really fast at checking you in and have a fountain of knowledge, the room is clean but like I said basic. The bathrooms come with shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste, shower caps and even shaving kits

The hotel was fine the food was of a good quality .
The check in was a joke .
We arrived after a long haul flight to be told that as UK cruise guests were changing over and there was no availability of rooms delaying our check in until after the hotel's set check in time.
We went for a walk returning at 1309hrs ,we inquired about our room and were told nothing was available.
We Sat in reception waiting for our room.
For the next two hours many international guests arrived and instantly were checked in .
We inquired why we could not check in and were informed that we had to wait for the UK cruise guests to change over .Eventually we were offered a room with two single beds which we refused
Another hour passes with more international guests immediately checking in.
We were eventually given a room with a double bed .
It would seem the hotels operates a two tire system for guests
It is a shame the reception team let down all the hard work of the remaining staff at this Hotel
We will never book this hotel again as we are not second class citizens .As a foot note when I asked to speak to a manager this request was refused

3 star hotel, room was clean, clean fresh bedding & towels, attended to each day.
Safe, kettle, tea & coffee provided but only cream sachets, just ask for fresh milk. Usual toiletries provided.
Staff were friendly and accommodating at all times, special mention to “George” whose professionalism, friendliness, willingness to assist went above and beyond at all times, George you are an asset to the Miramar!
Breakfast was good, catering to mainly Asian preferences which was to be expected, very surprised that not once was bacon provided as an option, did get it once when I asked and staff were very quick to get me some.
Has a large pool on the 4th floor, there is no service provided to the pool area, very enjoyable none the less.
Hotel is well situated being in walking distance to Robertson and Clark quay, bus stop right out the front, public transport system is brilliant!
Taxi was able to be called quickly for us at any time and we never waited more than 3 or 4 minutes (note we were charged a fee of $2.20 or thereabouts for calling the taxi)
Wifi was good whilst we were there.
This is not a resort hotel like you would find in Bali, it is more like a business hotel but we were very happy and would recommend this hotel.

- Room lacked power sockets, if you needed to charge devices or use the jug, it was one or the other
- Bath/shower was falling apart and in need of repair
- Sink plug was broken
- Lights went out occasionally above curtains
- Staff were standoffish and rude, particularly during checkout (especially Diana)
- I paid the damage deposit on arrival (the website advises this will be refunded), I am still waiting on the refund to come through
- I left my bags in storage during the day, when I went to to collect, the manager wandered back to the counter and completely ignored me until I got his attention asking if I could collect my bags
For the price I paid, I would recommend staying elsewhere and think it’s a stretch labelling this place a 4 star.

We stayed for 6 nights for the grand prix. The hotel room was large and clean and comfortable with a fridge, good shower and kettle. The hotel has a launderette too which we found useful.
The food and drink were good value compared to bars & restaurants outside. We used the Japanese and International all you can eat buffets which were both a very good price for singapore- especially the unlimited wine and beer package. The food was very good in both. Breakfast was buffet style and catered for many nationalities but we enjoyed trying different foods. There are also 2 seafood restaurants in the hotel we didnt try, so lots of good eating options in the hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to chef Roy in the Ferntree buffet who explained Indonesian and Singapore cuisine to us and made us delicious laksa.
The hotel position is good. Bus stop is right outside, Mrt station is 5 minutes walk away, but it's a lovely 30 minute walk along the riverside to central Singapore. Lots of bars and restaurants and shops along the riverside including Clarke Quay.
We would definitely use this hotel if we return to Singapore.

Having previously stayed at the Hotel Miramar in 2014 and 2016, and both visits were good, we did not hesitate to book this hotel for our latest trip to Singapore.
However, little did we realise just how much the Miramar has deteriorated in both quality and service since we were last there.
Whilst our bed was very comfortable, and the shower and bath worked well, our bedroom bore no resemblance to the room advertised on their website and on photographs in the reception. There were no scatter cushions or bed runner on the bed. There were no flowers displayed in the room. It was in fact very tired looking and drab. When booking our room, we were advised that there would be 'complimentary tea and coffee making facilities' in the room. This actually consisted of four tea bags, two sachets of coffee and two sachets of sugar for our entire four day visit.
Our room was not serviced/cleaned at all during our four day stay, despite me asking at reception if this could be done. Both our bedroom bin and the bathroom bin (both of which were quite small) were full to overflowing by the time we left. We had no means to dry our one bath towel each during the whole of our stay, and we were not able to open the windows as they were locked.
Our room was on the 16th floor, and as you came out of the lift, the musty/damp smell was quite overwhelming. There were stains on the carpet in the coridoor and damp stains on the ceiling of the coridoor.
Overall, we were bitterly disappointed with our stay at the Hotel Miramar. It was advertised as a 4* hotel, when in fact it should barely score 3*. It certainly is not worth the price tag and we would never return.

From the moment we received a very rude welcoming from the reception staff we knew we had made a poor choice. The hotel is very, very tired, in need of a refurbishment. Middle management seemed to be around in numbers, but not many staff actually working. The pool area looks tired, pergolas needing painting, lawns not mowed, the jacuzzi looked like it hadn’t operated in years, complete with plants growing out of it! Not in a great location for tourists- while a bus is close, the subway is a ten minute walk and more often than not, you will need to change lines to get anywhere on the tourist trail. Close to Robinson and Clark Quays which have turned into tourist traps, expensive and very tacky, very disappointing.

First room we were given Incredibly basic and air con did not work After going to visit the pool noticed the or con worked on other floors so went to desk and raised our concern They were not overly happy but gave us a second room Arrived to find air con worked but was also extremely basic and had a double bed Given the air con worked and we were only staying for 5 nights we were happy to stay until we worked out the safe did not work going back down to desk A staff member (turned out to be a manager) was in lift asked us what was happening she offered to come change the battery in the safe Went back to the room She attempted to fix it… after 20 minutes she left us in the room and came back with keys to a 3rd room
Went there air con worked, safe worked and it had a queen bed Still incredibly basic but better than the other 2. Would have been nice to be able to open the window but they were locked shut
Was supposed to get an upgrade according to our travel booking No idea what an upgrade would mean… but imagine it’s not great from what we saw
Included breakfast was nothing to write home about- again it’s basic buffet breakfast
Trying to book tours/tickets to attractions we were told they could not help us we had to do it online. As we were not using our phones on roaming we were unable to do this as booking online the systems required to send us a text message. Hotel offered no alternative assistance
Pool was nice but the spa was covered up and not allowed to use for the 5 days we were there. No facilities in the pool area except the pool and a few chairs
On day 3 we noticed Nearly every door on our level had a chair wrapped in plastic outside it Came to realise when plastic wrapped food was outside those doors the whole floor except us were in isolation Not sure that’s appropriate to have nearly a whole floor of ppl in isolation with one room of non isolation people???
Location was good
Doormen were very friendly and tried to be helpful (front desk staff could learn from them)
Not sure how they get 4 stars. It’s a very tired old hotel with very basic rooms and facilities.

Incident #1: The front desk staff is unfriendly, which makes for poor service.
1. When checking the type of room upon check-in, the front desk staff's response is really rude and unfriendly. 2. I am not permitted to bring my bags into the breakfast restaurant. I had to place it in front of the restaurant as a result. But when I went back to get it, it was gone. Quickly ask the bellman (elder uncle) and the front desk for assistance. But instead of offering assistance, their initial reaction was to criticize the consumer for leaving the suitcase unattended. They're all pointing the finger at me for leaving the bags unattended. and I informed them that there was no bellman there and that luggage was not permitted. They simply don't listen.
Incident #2: Both the TV and the room are fairly small. really outdated setup and design. In addition, the water pressure in the shower head is extremely low. The water heater isn't working properly.
Incident #3: There is little variety in breakfast, and the cuisine is not very good.
I had a terrible overall experience over my three days and two nights there; it was only worth three stars overall, despite being rated four.

We did walk....took about 20 mins. Bus stop directly outside...get a pass that does all bus and train.
Not sure if the pool is new, but it is working fine. Make sure you try and get your swim in the morning as the water is cooler, not cold, but cooler. We went one afternoon and the water was quite warm, almost like a bath.
Yes, one of the floors is a smoking floor.
I'm sorry I didn't use their pool. But December is steaming hot in Singapore! You'd be happy to cool off at the pool, pretty sure of that!
We only used Taxi's during our stay in 2017 and they were really cheap a great way to get around.
