Everything about the hotel is very good except for two things: the room was quite small, and the price is on the higher side for the size of the room. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The entire hotel was very clean and well maintained. It was a quiet hotel in a quiet neighborhood, except for a few...

Authentic old Singapore hotel, great for experiencing all the architecture, food and sights from a local's perspective. The Chinatown Hotel is just outside the more touristy areas of Smith Street, Pagoda Street etc so great for looking for street cafes and restaurants filled with locals. An easy waslk to the MRT and to other attractions. A world away from the...

Enjoyed one week at this hotel. To be a "budget" hotel, in same class as Hotel81 and Park22, this is the best out of them. Clean room, great service (and employees with a smile) with a good Internet WIFI. I can strongly recommend this hotel, if you are looking for a 100S$ hotel in Singapore.

Two night stop-over in Chinatown hotel in the middle of Chinatown, although the room was small, it was clean and safe. The staff were attentive, kind and welcoming nothing was too much trouble, and gave useful advice about local transport and restaurants close by. Even a basic complimentary breakfast of toast, marmalade tea/coffee, also free Wi-Fi. Had seen some bad...

We enjoyed a two-night stay at the Chinatown Hotel and found the location to be excellent as it was right in the thick of things in Chinatown, being a short walk from Food Street, Club Street, Chinatown MRT and Outram Park MRT. There are also several bars and restaurants on the road of the hotel. The hotel itself is a...

When my friend wanted to check in, the staff talking to the Shipping crews or guests sitting down to my surprise! I was shock when I saw this. That staff need to see a doctor since he do not know how to stand when talking to a person.

The property is old and smells musky - a bit too pricey for this condition ($243 for two nights including taxes). Overall, the room is acceptable but I found some short hair still stuck to the bed sheet and cover (looked like a male's), including on the wall of the toilet. The double bed moved around when slightly pushed. Having...

Although the room was small for 2 (usual for Singapore unless you want to spend bags of money), it was safe, clean, the air con worked great, and the location was hard to beat, only 5 mins. walk to the MRT, within walking distance to Maxwell Food Court and many good restaurants. The bathroom was small too, and the shower...

I slept for a night only, but my experience is enough I think! My two luggages and my carry-on bag were enough to fill the empty space of the room. I had to jump one of my bags in order to go to the bathroom. Bed was single but comfortable. Bathroom wa nice. In general was clean. A bad thing...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
