You get what you pay for.. And in Singapore, this is probably the cheapest one you can find wd Cable, Hot water, comfortable bed, nearby access to a variety of food that may suit your palate. But and this I stress carefully, do not expect a five star or even a three star experience. This is just a place you sleep in after a tiring day of going around Singapore. For the price, its worth the negatives.

Older accomodation and about the cheapest hotel room you will find in Singapore. The room and bed are comfortable and quiet enough for a few nights stay. There was no sign of mice or pests as other posts have suggested which was disappointing because I enjoy a bit of company when travelling alone. Reception is manned from 11am to 11pm so don't rely on being able to leave baggage etc outside of these hours. Entrance doors are electronic locked outside of reception hours and accessible only with your key card.

The best thing about JJH boutique apartment in Geylang:
1. Cheap price
2. Private bathroom & toilet
3. Convenient store, restaurants and food stalls everywhere
4. Great staff working there (Michael attended to all our needs during our stay there. A friendly guy)
5. Free Wi-Fi. (not sure how fast it is, only use on mobile but it is good enough for light surfing)

The not so good about JJH boutique apartment in Geylang:
1. Quite a distance away from the nearest MRT station. 10-15 minutes walk to Aljunied station.
2. Cockroaches... you'll see one or two from time to time.
3. TV signal reception is so so.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay at JJH. The room is typically small but equipped with private bath... This place has no elevator... So, if you are not comfortable on walking up and down stairs, be sure to let the staff know that you want a ground floor room.

I booked this for a friend who was moving house and didn't want to impose on the family. They stayed for about a week.

There is no 24 hours reception. It's a seedy location but still okay compared to some other lorong in Geylang. Hmmm... won't say it's very clean.. it's very dingy and super compact. Beds are... plastic thingys they put a cover over. No cleaning service.

Geylang is well known for its red light district. Set aside that reputation, it does have a lot of convenient internet cafes. Try not to go for the blue ones, they're quite expensive. There are a few hidden internet cafes that you can pay $10-15 for 10 hours straight. Geylang has also a huge array of local food to try. And of course that stretch of durian stalls!

If you're a tourist, I hope you put a little bit more consideration into staying here. It MIGHT give you a bad impression of what Singapore has to offer. Just top up $10-$20 more, you could be staying at hotel nearby. No doubt it's still in the same seedy area. But at the very least, you have a 24 hours reception and cleaning service everyday.

My bus was delayed at JB-Singapore border and as a result I was running late. Wasn't going to be able to make the 11:00pm check-in cutoff so I called the hotel and told the man who answered about my situation. I said I'd be there as fast as possible (probably by 11:15pm) and even offered to pay extra to have someone wait for me at the front desk. He kept insisting that 11:00pm is cutoff time—no exceptions. I pleaded my case for several minutes, but he said it was my problem and the hotel policy was to close the front desk by 11:00pm. Can you be any more inflexible?! I used booking.com and because I get listed as a no-show my credit card is being charged for the room while I sleep on chairs in Changi Airport. Thoroughly disappointed.

Room 308, superior with window $54AUD per night.
Visitors 1 baby cockroach ran down bathroom drain. 1 small jumping spider, guided onto a piece of paper and jumped out window and did a speccy Spider-Man thing into the wall.
Bed clean comfortable .
Bathroom clean good hot water.
No room service, I think you have to stay 5 days or request.
Reception 1100 to 2300, unless you have local mobile.
Security excellent .
Geylang lots of good food, safe, Alljunied MRT 7 minutes with my legs.
I would not have known Redlight area unless researched. 2 approaches very subtle, not persistent .
Would stay again.

Though the staff was very friendly and it really is quite cheap, I wouldn't recommend to stay here.
Location is pretty impressive, lot if Chinese places, people living their daily life. Though at night there were a lot of lightly dressed "birds" catching up with the guys ...

Room was very small and the sheets had stains.

If you have some time, find a place in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. There are many nice and cheap places, more value for your money.

I got good price there , 148.5 Singapore Dollars for three nights. The front desk man was really friendly. Hot water , Air Conditioning, TV works well, and free wifi. But the room was too small and no window. Red district area, but easy to get cheap meal and MRT station.

The first and second night was good, but the last night, next door guests making love with the cat dying sound for one hour. I have problem explaining to my daughter when she asked me what happening to the lady next door :( .

The friendly staff and good location (10minute walk to MRT) made up for what the hotel room was lacking i.e. good sized room and could be cleaner. Exit Mould would do wonders on the ensuite tiles!
Clean linen and towels provided upon arrival but not changed during a 5-day stay (no room cleaning).
The hotel is in Geylang, which is filled with many cheap restaurants; however, probably not a "family" area.

We stayed here on a recommendation back in April 2013. The location was awkward in the sense that tourist attractions are a short train ride away, but a good 10 mins walk to the station. We'd been travelling for a while and price was our priority. So we chose to stay in a cheaper area. Similar to China Town as there are A LOT of hawkers places to eat that we really enjoyed!! But not quite as good as China Town for the shopping.

The room we stayed in was very small and had no windows which was slightly dissapointing - but fine for a 2 night stay. The price was fine - more expensive than some places in asia - but cheap for singapore! I think we paid 30Sinagpore dollars for the room. With aircon and wifi.

The service was friendly.

I believe the red-light district is just around the corner - but definitely did not bother us!!
