I was a bit skeptical after reading things about Geyland but there was nothing wrong with the location. Felt perfectly safe throughout our stay. There were some bugs here and there but nothing too troublesome. Service was good and the location is really convenient. Free minibar is an added bonus.

Hotel's Favourite
Situated in Geylang Road, one of Singapore's most iconic and culturally rich places especially to dine and experience the yummy Chicken Rice, Noodles, Durians and Dim Sum. One of the finest hotels in Geylang district and right at the heart of this illustrious location. We booked a Family room for 4 including 1 child late Sept this year and price wise it was a great deal for us. At just 250++ per night it has one of the most affordable room rates specially for a family of 5 in Singapore just before the busy Formula 1 weekend end of Sept and lucky we got this room. Although the place is not beside MRT stations which you would need to take a bus to the nearest ones - Kallang and Mountbatten, you also have the option to walk but its a bit far about 10 to 15 mins. If you have kids in tow it won't be a good idea but the Bus is another option. On the plus side, the hotel is in Lorong 6, a quiet street from the busy and long stretch of Geylang road. But what we love especially my Dad is that it is quite close to one of the famous 24 hrs Dim Sum place in Geylang - Mongkok Dim Sum and in fact we ordered food here a couple of times during our 3 nights stay at this hotel. I will have a separate review for Mongkok Dim Sum. The hotel has a nice and big drive way but no covers especially when it rains - so this one they could take a look. The lobby is quite big, spacious, elegant and very classic - very bright lighting from the Chandeliers, Modern colorful lounge chairs, and very shiny marbled floors. Check-in has only one front desk in tow so if someone is being checked-in you will have to wait. But once you got your turn it is quite fast and efficient. The lift is one of our issues - they only have 2 and its pretty old especially the carpeting. So much contrast with their fine lobby and modern rooms. The right lift specially is a problem - it closes so easily that we got shut off several times. This is a suggestion for the hotel to upgrade their lifts. Our room is located at the 4F and it was indeed what we expected for. The pictures did showcase the real thing - big, spacious, clean, modern and well organized. The Family Quadruple room has a huge double deck bed and a Queen Bed which are very big, clean and comfortable. The sheets and pillows were exceptionally clean, thick, soft, smooth and keeps us warm especially from the cold airconditioning. The airconditioning is one of our main issue especially for the Queen bed because its positioned right in front of it so you would have to adjust the blade lever if you don't want the direct airflow coming towards the bed. The cooling system seems off because sometimes we change the temperature to a higher level but still seems quite cold. Next the flooring is quite artistic and impressive its like a vinyl. The room has a huge SMART TV right in front of the queen bed with an array of cable channels. WIFI is also pretty fast and quite stable. There is a huge blue Armchair provided place between the Queen bed and the Double deckers but for us it consumes a lot of space especially for 5 people in the room - the hotel could have changed this to small dining table especially their hotel doesn't have indoor dining. The windows were quite big and the blue black out curtains were clean and easy to close and open but don't expect a great view outside. There is a long counter table from the window passing thru the TV up to before the toilet door. Now this serves are our counter top where we place everything. However, there are only 2 usable power outlets to charge your electronics and the 2 we found on the Queen Bed and Double deck is quite placed way behind that your power adapters won't even fit. This is a miss especially for a Family room - we need more power outlets. The main door does not also auto lock so you have to make sure to close it well in order to lock completely - this they may need to check as well. From the main door there is a small side table with the telephone nex to the lower double deck bed and to the right is the mini-bar, fridge, wardrobe and the toilet and shower. This is what we love about this room - this area can fit and handle your luggages, clothes, food and things. They provide complimentary free coffee/tea, canned drinks of Lemon Ice and Green Tea and 2 beers plus some snacks. There is a water kettle, they provided 2 coffee mugs, 2 glasses and a water glass container. Water in Sg is drinkable from the tap and they don't provide bottled waters although there is a water dispenser outside where you could get your drinking waters anytime. I loved that they have safety lock and the wardrobe is quite big, spacious and has many cabinets. The bath and toilet towels are placed here which were very neat, soft and clean. Another plus they provide disposable slippers which you could use in the room . There is a huge mirror and a luggage rack beside the wardrobe. To the right is the toilet and shower - this is a plus for us - huge, spacious and very cozy with a natural outdoor feel. I loved the marbled tile flooring, the toilet has bidet and the shower area has a glass divider but only has a shower head and no rainfall option. The small toilet window is option for exhaust which I loved. The sink has many compartments, a huge mirror and I loved their toiletries and the cute pink flowered soap. But bear in mind they don't provide the usual shampoo and shower gel on the shower area so have your own since they don't replenish the toiletries daily only the coffee and tea. The sink is also a bit small but still enough to do your washing and toothbrush. They only provided 2 complimentary toothbrush so if you're a family of 5 must prepare them beforehand.Another thing missing - there are not many toilet tower hangers and hooks so you have to place them on the wardrobe hangers especially for 5 people sharing the same space. I wish the hotel has their own cafe or dining in option in the future since its quite a promising hotel with a great potential. The staff were also very nice, helpful and friendly. Overall, we had a great stay at five/6 Hotel Splendour and we will definitely check this place again as an option especially for a family of 3 or more people who would like to share a room together. Also, next time we would like to try their other rooms because they have uniquely designed and catered each room beautifully with a modern cozy vibes. So if you're planning to visit SG and looking for a Family room then go check five/6 Hotel Splendour and you will surely do have a splendid stay at this cozy hotel right at the heart of Geylang, SG's culturally rich district!!!

Photos look glamorous, but that's about it. Pros: + Staff are decent, no qualms there + Room is reasonably clean; though, the bathroom definitely needs a deep clean / refurbishment + 2x soft drinks and 1x beer in the minibar for free + Water dispenser present on all floors + International plug sockets Cons: - No switch to turn all lights off at once - Shower water pressure is incredibly low - Air conditioning unit is loud and disturbs while sleeping (if you're a light sleeper) -All night, there was a tip tap sound coming from the toilet! This was infuriating - There is NOTHING nearby. The nearest MRT station is 12 mins away and to get to Chinatown or anywhere it's a minimum of 30 mins by bus - They take a $100 SGD credit card deposit -annoying!! - Really small bottles of shower gel and shampoo Certainly not to 4* standards, especially at these prices

The hotel provides good service. The room is clean and tidy. The staff are very polite and helpful. The price is reasonable. However, there are two things I believe you should be aware of before booking this hotel. 1. It is about a 10-minute walk from the MRT (Kallang station). It's fine to walk on a sunny day, but it'll be difficult if it's raining. 2. The wall does not provide soundproofing. At night, I heard the kids in the next rooms making a lot of noise. Overall, I believe the hotel is a good option.

Second night here now. On the first night we encountered cockroaches, fruit flies, ants. Tonight we encounter some weird bug crawling on the floor that I don’t even know the name for. Hotel has already changed our room once, and that didn’t help, seem like it’s a whole building thing. I am so stressed out by it, it’s only the second night and I have five more nights to go. I can’t afford to leave and stay somewhere else because they won’t refund the rest of my money either. God help me, I never should have chosen this hotel. My peaceful vacation is over the minute I stepped in.

My wife and I recently stayed at Five/6 Splendour hotel and wanted share some of our concerns. I booked several months in advance but had a couple of airline schedule changes that made us reconsider the length of stay. The first change was that we wanted to reduce our stay by one day since we wouldn’t be arriving as soon as we hoped. We were told from Booking.com after they consulted with Splendour staff that this was not possible. There was a minimum stay requirement? Our plans changed again and some how we were able to book another 2 day stay(with no minimum?)as a separate adjoining booking at a higher cost. Seems like pretty suspect business practices are at work here. After arriving to our room via elevator and walkaways which had no air conditioning we found our room with the windows open in the middle of the day so it was incredibly hot. There were ants everywhere. I’m not sure if the option to rent rooms to diners during the day is the cause but surely doesn’t help. The sink in the bathroom had a conservation feature(bravo) that shut on and off as soon as you removed your hands from underneath. Unfortunately that was the only thing the sensor recognized so you had to stick your fingers in the faucet to get it to run for brushing your teeth, filling water cups/bottles/shaving etc. Finally the room wouldn’t get cool until “we” cleaned the air filters on the AC which were caked with dust from not having been cleaned. It seems they are interested in saving electricity as well as cleaning staff. There was also a spider web in the shower. We informed management of our concerns but it seems they were happy to apologize but less interested in customer satisfaction. Also worth passing on is the location is less than convenient to major attractions requiring transportation($) for most if not every major site. Much better value options available. Our second hotel here was much better for similar cost.

Nice quiet area, instructions from hotel to get here can be better written. Hard to communicate with hotel via email, had to call to clarify a booking request. Lots of restaurants near by. 12 to 15 minutes walk to MRT station. Rooms bigger than usual and nice spacious bathroom.

I've been treated very bad in front office cause of the deposit, there is no minibar, no other services available, so I asked why the deposit, they told me check in if no deposit, I offered my debit card they refused, only cradit card, they gives me two hour to bring cash, they called me twice, wake me up to go and bring cash deposit, I asked for duty manager, he is not available, FO manager not available also, Hotel running with GSA only, I told them u have my IC number and my phone number, they refused all, I'm not recommending this hotel for anybody as a lack of professional and inexperience running the hotel

Paid $105 SGD on Agoda. No breakfast. Deluxe King Room, 24sqm. King size bed. Recently renovated with large flatscreen TV. Good sized room. Decent bathroom with good shower head. 3 cans of drink provided but no bottled water. Noise from slamming doors and stomping upstairs but slept ok with earplugs. Checkin process was a bit confused: charged twice for deposit, but reversed one after I discovered it and pointed it out. Interesting local area to explore. Quiet street off the main Geylang rd. Free WiFi but didn’t use it.
