V Hotel Bencoolen is lauded for its prime location near MRT stations and attractions, making it a convenient choice for travelers. Guests commend the professional service and the inviting atmosphere of the hotel, along with its well-maintained cleanliness.
While the rooftop pool and laundry amenities add to the comfort, the size of the rooms often receives mixed reviews. Despite some concerns about the breakfast service, WiFi, and room dimensions, the hotel's overall value, with its affordability and strategic position, is frequently highlighted.

My parents and I arrived here Xmas eve and stayed for two nights. We chose the location to be close to the church for midnight mass on Xmas day/night. The location is good, right on top of MRT, walking distance to everything (we walked to Orchard Rd, the Padang, Raffles, Bugis st etc) but the rooms are extremely small. We had a family room (double bed with a single bed up in a loft) and there was literally nowhere to place a suitcase. We couldn’t walk past each other and had to navigate taking turns getting past each other to do anything. The bathroom was not clean (when the steam covered the mirror you could see the previous guests had written words on it) particularly around the toilet seat. We ended up purchasing a toilet roll from the 7-11 as there was only facial tissue type toilet paper to wipe yourself. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had (halal buffet only and a tonne of extremely loud Chinese tourists yelling over the loud music) with only plastic cups for your coffee.
On the upside - the staff when I checked in at 7am kindly gave me an early check in for $30 fee and Mr Henry the doorman was the BEST and friendliest thing about that place!!!!
Pool is a good size although we did not use it. Would not stay here again. The price does not reflect the value you get.

Stayed as we camefor New Year’s Eve prior to a cruise for 6 days. The standard rooms are very small if staying for more than a couple of days so we upgraded to a deluxe room they are the same size but you get an outside balcony which was ideal for somewhere to sit and store luggage.
All hotel staff exceptional and we were given a complimentary early check in and late checkout due to the timings of our flights and our length of stay.
Henry and John the porters both helpful.
Do not use papas kitchen for breakfast either use 30 bencoolen hotel next door for well priced western style breakfast or the food republic at the end of the street for very good value Asian style food for breakfast lunch or dinner.
Other places to eat are Chijmes complex 7 min walk
- Harry’s bar or carnivore and Bobbys bar for the cheapest drinks around.
Plaza Singapore mall has every type of food you want including all the major western chains 10 mins walk
Albert food hall 10 min for authentic street food near bugis st
Highlights of the stay are gardens by the bay and Chinatown

We are staying at the V hotel in Bencoolen road as our base for seeing Singapore.
Very nice hotel right next to the metro station of the same name “Bencoolen”
It does have a pool but is is on the 3 rd floor (roof is 11) and so not in the sun
It is also very cold water.
The breakfast is in the next door restaurant and is very good
Buy the monorail ticket in the hotel and save $8 ( collect the real ticket from the on line desk and skip the queue)
Getting around in Singapore is very easy just use the metro “MRT” at an average of $2.00 a trip it is very cheap
The beach on the next island is Sentosa and is great
We went there by metro and cable car and came back by monorail soo cool

For me and my family, this hotel is perfect, especially for moslem tourists like us. The hotel location is right in front of Bencoolen Mosque and they provide halal foods for breakfast. The location of the hotel itself is another plus, it is right next to MRT Bencoolen and near MRT Bras Basah. The service and their people is also very nice and helpful, especially Mr Henry helped us a lot. The room is very clean and tidy, not spacious but still comfortable. Thank you V Hotel for such amazing experience and services, 100% go back 👍🏼

Location, location, location - easy to take the MRT from the airport and pop up a few steps from the hotel. Several other mrt lines were only a few minutes walk away. I visited in February and they were taking your temperature before you entered and had to sign that you had not been to China recently.
I had a standard room which I was not surprised to be small, but if you opened your suitcase on the rack you could not get past it to the bathroom - very tight. I had a problem adjusting the AC and got it too hot and could not change it again. I left a note and they adjusted it back to the colder temp.
I did try the pool one afternoon, nice plants over the back balcony but the pool area itself is in an almost airshaft and very cold, not very inviting.

The staff always seemed extremely friendly and helpful, so that was nice. The hotels is very conveniently located, so if you're not planning to spend much time in the room this is a good choice. The rooms are very small (if you've been to Tokyo, you'll get it!) and everything seems to smell like those hanging toilet bowl cleaners. We literally got 2 towels and a bathmat - no hand towels or face washers. There were amenities in the room - toothbrushes, shower cap, bottled water, tea and coffee. Bed was small, but the pillows were great!

On my trip back to Singapore after pandemic times, I find the overall prices greatly spiked, especially those of lodging. V Hotel Bencoolen is also somewhat overpriced, in my opinion with many issues.
Pros: Well-located and close to the downtown. Can walk to activity centers within 30 minutes. Wifi was strong. AC was good (often too good). Right at MRT stn Bencoolen and just one short block away from another MRT stn Bras Basah.
Cons: Room was extremely small and made us feel claustrophobic. TV did not work for the first two days and someone had to come by to fix. Locations of electric outlets and switches were wrong and inconvenient. Staff was kind but did not take action: we had problems with our reservation during the stay. There was nothing so much as a lobby. We asked cleaning to be done within certain times because we had to do on-line meetings and it was never taken take of for the requested time. and always late upon continued calls. Amenities were not refilled. Only two towels were provided. On the website, the checkout time is at noon, yet they said it is 11 AM, and then right before 11 AM, we received a call that the check out is in fact noon.
In my opinion, the hotel provides three-star service with good location.

Stayed for one night.
My impression is, its not really the budget budget hotel, but more like a mid-range budget hotel 'coz they are still affordable.
Inspite that but I can still feel the high end 5 star services from reception to porter services. They will assist you in many ways as they can.
The services is superb, they really take their safety seriously against corona virus. They use their own hand gun to monitor each guest during checking in. This alone makes you feel safe staying here.
The superior double room, may not be as spacious but still very comfortable. With few good tv local & english channels, live youtube channels included. Safety box, mini fridge. Has 4 elevators, no waiting moments. MRT bencoolen is really like 30 seconds walk.
My only minor setback, is the toilet, it has no bidet. Other than that, all are basically almost perfect for comfort.
The room is quiet enough to sleep except if you hear kids shouting along the alley.
Try here if you want sure 5 star comfort, in a mid budget hotel.

Check in was easy and quick and staff very helpful. The rooms in this hotel are small and it was difficult to accommodate 2 largish suitcases in our room. The safe didn't work, it seemed jammed and wouldn't open. Our bathroom could have been cleaner. The attachment for the shower head was faulty and one of the taps leaked. The walls are incredibly thin. We woke up one night thinking a man was in our room as somebody next door sneezed loudly. We could also hear conversations and noise from the lift announcement. Our room wasn't made up at all while we were there. We asked for it to be left on one morning but it wasn't done for either of the other mornings either. The location of the hotel is good with the MRT station and bus stops being very close. We never found the restaurant next door open so made other breakfast arrangements. This hotel is good for a short stopover but I wouldn't really like to stay longer because of the lack of space. On a very positive note: the concierge was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the local area and providing ideas for trips and travel arrangements.

I have given this hotel a 4 rating, because it is a very good hotel overall. It is right next to Bencoolen Station, which is on the same line as the airport, so you can get there very easily. Check in is very quick, professional and helpful staff, we were in our room very quickly. There is a washing machine and dryer for your convenience, this is the only hotel I have found that offers that. The pool area is beautiful and very well kept.
The room is onother thing, it is so small, we didn't have anywhere to put the second suitcase. We ended up moving the chair from the desk, putting it beside the bed, and putting the 2nd suitcase under the desk. It was very claustrophobic. On the upside, it was very clean, lovely clean sheets, bathroom was clean and plenty of room to put toiletries. Under any circumstances, I cannot recommend the breakfast. It is in a resturant next to the hotel, it was dirty, dirty dishes left on tables, while the person was sitting at the desk on his phone. Tablecloths are stained and dirty, the hot food was cold, the juice watered down, flies and ants on the fruit. I recommend to stay at this hotel, but don't pay extra for the breakfast. We would stay again, but no breakfast.
