If you want a cheaper hotel in expensive Singapore, this is quite a good place. Very small, but clean rooms, reasonably quiet, good breakfast, friendly service. I don't understand, why they want 100 $ deposit, if you have paid for the room, I refused to pay it and got away with it or they forgot about it.

I visited in August, suprisingly it is in National week, so the price was quite expensive. I was really confused of the deposit about 100$ after you checked in. The customer service is really good, the staff is very nice and always welcome you to ask and ready to serve you any time. The price is also include the breakfast...

The staff are very friendly and knowledgable and are always willing to assist. I had my Formula One Tix posted there, they looked after them until we arrived. This was our third time at the Perak. Try to get the biggest room possible. The breakfast is basic. Try having breakfast at the Tekka Centre 5mins walk away.

Great place for a brief stopover on way back to Aus from Europe. Good rates -really clean, nice touches of character put it up above other budget accom in the area. Washroom fine good for purpose. Perak hotel is actually a lodge. It has small rooms with very small washrooms. I had to face few issues like noisy ac. Ants herw and there. On request they changed the room but be prepared to face compressor noise in all the rooms. The guy at the reception was very courteous, gud thing is they do not serve non...

A disclaimer first: I used to live in Singapore a few years back and I have visited a couple of times since and I stayed in various hotels and even a hostel at one time. I was travelling alone this time and was on a budget, so the choice was really between hostels (too old for that kind of stuff),...

I think the biggest mistake I did was that like all other times in the past, I went by reviews on TripAdvisor and booked this hotel for a family trip to Singapore. This was my parent's maiden trip outside India and my wife/kid's first trip To Singapore and hence was quite sure of booking something that's a good comfortable stay...

We stayed for three nights . The hotel is really easy to get to using the fantastic Singapore metro system and the metro exit / entrance is a three minute walk from the front door of hotel. We discovered Little India because we stayed at this hotel and we spent a lot of time walking the streets soaking up the...

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
