Venue Hotel the Lily is a excellent choice for tourists and travelers who like to stay slightly away from the city centre to savour a taste of the Singaporean lifestyle. The hotel is priced very attractively although it is newly renovated, with most of the little indulgence one may not expect from a hotel in its priced category. All rooms are served with (complimentary) high speed wifi, with in room mini-fridge/safe etc. Just a few doors away, we have bakeries, local delicacies, Vietnamese restaurants, 24hrs convenient stores and supermarkets. The beach (East Coast Park) is just 10 mins by taxi, if the sun and sea could add to the joy of the stay. East Coast Park also offers seafood & other gourmet restaurants and other recreation activities (bicycle, roller blade rentals etc) Thus for a short relaxing holiday or an escape from the cold, Venue Hotel the Lily may just be your perfect hideout.

I frequent this hotel regularly. Hotel has very poor maintenance as the years go. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST! Front desk is very rude. Assistant manager doesn’t not give two hoots about you. Please avoid at all cost! Checked in asking for a room with cold aircon because I know that some of the rooms had non existent air conditioning. Assistant manager ignored my request. Checked in to the room and I was shocked! There was algae growing on the window panes and the concrete at the window was flaking off! Air conditioning was set to 20 degrees but the air maintained at 26.5 degrees. Room was warm with poor air circulation. Aircon vent was super dusty! Nobody cleaned that for months that I am certain. The shower was also filthy! The bathroom walls are slimy and the glass partition was full of stains! Worse of all, when you request for a room change, the staff was nonchalant. Refusing you and providing you with all excuses! Insist further and the staff became rude very rude! Once again! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!

This is a review of the Standard Double Room. Venue Hotel - The Lily is a small hotel located around the Joo Chiat area in Singapore. The check in process was fast and hotel staff was friendly. Room was neat and tidy when I entered. The room itself is small but it is designed to have all the basic amenities. The wifi speed is ok, it is decent enough to stream videos. There are 3 charging ports in the room for those who need them. The bed was soft and comfortable, blanket was clean. The shower was really good, the shower water can get hot almost instantly as soon as you turn it on which is great. There are also basic amenities included in the room including a safe and a mini fridge. The only tiny nitpicks I have is that the hallway outside the rooms were narrow so there some noise pollution from the hallways and the check out timing being at 11:00. They did mention you can ask for a little more time to check out if you require. But overall, I think it's a nice hotel to stay at and you can get a good room for its price.

The worst hotel i have ever been to. We landed in Singapore at 2am and needed a place to stay in until we check in to the residence at 2 pm, so I picked this place as it was cheap and had decent reviews. Oh my god, it was absolutely horrendous. When you get in, you smell mold and sewer. The check in was good, the employee was polite, we were given a suite. It was nasty, moldy and yuky, it smelled so bad that I couldn’t take my mask off. The room had no windows, it didn’t look like I was in Singapore. We couldn’t wait for the morning to get out of that hole, stayed for 5 hours in total!!! Stay away!!!

I am very pleased by all the staff everyone including the housekeeping. And personally Jeffery was very helpful as I accidentally drop a glass bottle which shattered to pieces and I informed him and he cleaned it up willingly and happily informimg me that it's part of his job. O believe all the receptionists throughout my stay have all be very pleasant and very helpful in anything needed. The room is also wonderful. And I can surf on YouTube as I fall asleep. There are also amenities around. All in all I'm very pleased with the services provided by all the staff throughout my stay.

The good - location. Situated along Joo Chiat road where there's a lot of bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. Facade is nice as it preserved the architecture of the old shophouses of colonial Singapore. The bad - close to pubs/bars/KTVs where Vietnamese girls and old "Uncles" hangout. It can be noisy and fierce especially when Vietnamese girls fight over their man. Most rooms do not have windows and those that have are facing the windows of the condo behind it where you can literally say hi to each other. The ugly - I cannot sleep, repeat...I cannot sleep in peace. Apart from the noisy bars/pubs nearby, almost every other day, between 4.50am to 5.30am, there's a truck that comes with steel trolleys banging heavily on the road and the pavement. I think it's to collect laundry. The another garbage truck that comes between 8am-9am which is slightly less noisy, So I cannot sleep in peace.

Being a regular customer here for last few years, it could be easily noticed that conditions of hotel are going down despite maintenance. A major retrofitting may be unavoidable. The main problems lie with ageing and deteriorating of equipment that nominal service will not help. No. 1 - Air con is a deal breaker. Very poor circulation and thermostats control. Unpleasant to stay long in the room. This happened to 6 to 7 rooms stayed in recent years. No. 2 - leaking shower cubicle when seal is rotten. No. 3 - poor water pressure for basin. Water could be dripping at maximum No. 4 - below average housekeeping. Cleanliness has not been kept to previous standard. Missing replenishment from time to time No. 5 - room has smoking scent. This happened rarely but not fixed despite feedback No. 6 - dated entertainment as without Netflix nor smart TV features as compared to Classic, hotel under same group but slightly higher category Location is a killing point for this hotel so the above wish list items are significant to attract regular customers to return.

Just returned from an 8 night stay. We booked to visit family member in University. Didn’t need a fancy holiday hotel, so the Lilly fitted our needs fine. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is the red light area of Singapore. A few bars that was obvious, but no issues. Many restaurants and lots of family’s and people around. The only down side was no wardrobe in the room. All that was provided was a small rail above desk/vanity with 4 hangers, no doors or curtain. With 2 suitcases of clothing and no storage for the cases in a small room, it was a struggle. Room regularly cleaned and everything worked. All in all great base to use for sleeping.

My reason for selecting the property was the tariff they offered. Once I reached the hotel, it was more than my expectations. Location was away from MRT but closer to couple of bus stops.Hence, not faced any difficulty. Most importantly, they allowed me to checkout late, waiving 20 dollers of additional charges. This was really a kind gesture. I loved the location for it's local flavor. If u are looking for pocket friendly, value for money property, this is THE property. Go for it without hesitation.

Being a regular for few years at Lily, can't be happier that staff kept very good service in meeting customers needs as ever. However, premise has shown obvious wear and tear during the latest visit. Housekeeping was still the weakest link of all, especially when aged finishes surface defects and are harder to maintain. One room during last stay has shower door not fully closeable, making shower inconvenient and unenjoyable. TV channels were unexciting, compared to Classic, also under Venue chain. This may be the minimum hotel management should look into to improve attractiveness of this less well located hotel.
