Spent a week in Singapore with mates and used Champion as a base to explore from and it was great for that. Close to shops and the MRT (Singpost Centre Para Lebar Station is a 12 min walk) and Joo Chiat has a good selection of great local places for food many that are great on price! The hotel itself is fairly basic, but very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and greet you with a big smile every time u walk through reception.
Our room with a double bed and a single bed. - room size is ok. - wall side and the floor edge is old and dirty - spacious toilet - powerful air conditioner - reasonable price - friendly staff - a lot of traditional buildings nearby - a large supermarket nearby but not open 24 hours
Stayed here for 5 nights in March 2019. Huge family room compared to other hotels in Singapore. Comfortable bedding, spotless bathroom and loved the toiletries provided. Shower gel and shampoo smelled amazing. Washing machine and dryer available for use as well. Convenient location. Easy to find food, supermarket and ATMs just across the road. A few massage salons down the road too where I had really good foot reflexology massages. A real treat after exploring the city all day.
The location was ok, but it is far from the city central. From changi you have to take mrt to tanahmerah then change to the city mrt and took off at Eunos station. Then take the bus no. 54 from Eunos bus terminal and hop off at the 2nd stop, Joo Chiat Complex. Then you need to walk to the building besides Joo Chiat Plaza and looked for Haji Maemunah restaurant, which was more famous then the hotel name. its only about 1 minute walk from the restaurant. The hotel was clean but the walls between rooms was very thin especially at the entrance door and your room alley, you can hear about almost any sound from the corridor. We booked a twin room with no window we got a very spacious room for SG hotel type and it was averagely clean. Learning that the hotel went through the big…
Good environment, convenient place for food. Staffs were mostly friendly and helpful except one of the staff who attended to me during checking out. He made us wait during check out and didnt even tell us that waiting wasnt required, we could just handover the hotel card and leave straightaway.
Great location. Functional hotel , good value for the price paid for! Rooms are spacious enough and well kept. Good customer service overall. will certainly be visiting the hotel again in the near future.
The room is fairly large for a Singapore hotel, it's nicely designed although not very well maintained. I am utterly disappointed with the wifi that is available in the rooms, it is so slow it's basically unusable. I've never came across any WIFI in Singapore that is so slow besides a public WIFI. This is utterly disappointing for a hotel. Not to mention the switches in the room are uncoordinated. An 'on' switch could mean what it's linked to is actually off and vice versa. The heater in the shower is almost non existent, hot water lasts 40seconds and you'll only be able to attain room temperature or cold water. Unfortunately the walls and corner of the room also has mould and stains. I expected better from Champion Hotel, unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel nor…
The room was small and shaped oddly in the shaped of a "b". Dust everywhere. Stains on bed sheet and walls. Floor felt oily. Toilet was small. Toilet seat was really low, my bag's height was higher than that. Mostly importantly, when we requested to checkout 4 hours later, the female receptionist without checking, immediately said that the rooms were fully booked despite there was barely any crowd in the hotel.
ros: 1) Spacious room with window 2) Approachable staff 3) Strategic location especially for tourists 4) Quiet and comfortable retreat 5) Great price Cons: 1) Cleanliness can be further improved especially under the table because stains are still very much visible and there were ants occasionally 2) Should consider adding the water spray next to the toilet bowl. BUT we did have a great stay and may consider staying here again next time for a short quiet time away.
My airline did a last minute time change so my scheduled mid morning flight out of Changi became a midnight departure. Faced with this prospect an option is to book a transit hotel but I chose the Champion hotel as an alternative as its cheapest room rate for one night is cheaper that a booking for 6 hours in a hotel at the airport. The hotel is about 15 minutes taxi ride from the airport but it is also walkable to Paya Lebar MRT station which is on the train line to Changi. I checked in just after 2pm and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room for the price paid (S$77). The bathroom looks like it have undertaken a recent renovation so is thoroughly modern with slate tiles and a walk-in shower with doors. The room had a wardrobe, luggage rack, mini fridge and a…
