Stayed here for 1 night in early Sep, paying around $90 on Agoda. Small room with a curious design of a narrow corridor with separate small shower cubicle and toilet off that corridor and the bedroom chamber at the end. Small TV on the wall. Small fridge and in-room safe. Body wash dispenser in the shower (no separate shampoo). No bottled water or tissues provided. Clean. Neighbour noise from slamming doors outside. Noisy aircon disguised the street noise. Heritage style building. Queen size bed a little on the small side for 2 people. Good location in Keong Saik rd. Didn't try the free wifi. Overall it's ok for a 1 night stay but I probably wouldn't want to stay for longer.
My trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. Hotel is unresponsive and doesn't want to honor my refund even though its a valid reason. Very poor customer service. Cheap hotel price should not be an excuse for bad customer service
Room: Fair sized room with desk, double bed and ensuite. Sheets and walls were clean. Slippers provided. I had a comfortable couple of nights stay here. Location: This is an excellent location for seeing more of Singapore! The street's history, combined with some surrounding modern buildings, provides a refreshing glimpse of 'Old' and 'New' Singapore. You are not even a five minute walk from Chinatown, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a Michelin-star eatery (Hawker Chan), and glimpses into Singaporean life. Keong Saik Road is quiet in the day, with some cafés and bookstores nearby, but has bars for the nighttime too. Amenities: A light breakfast is included in the price of the room, something I liked as other (more expensive) hotels I had stayed in had charged for breakfast. Value: The only thing I would point out to prospective visitors is that there are not many rooms, and they are not very uniform. I think this must be something that comes with putting a hotel into a heritage building. It would probably be best to email/phone the hotel beforehand to get more information about the rooms. Nonetheless, this hotel is very good value for money, especially with its history and local charm. I would like to stay here again :)…
Bad customer service, the bed sheets were dirty, there was dirt and hairs on the bed, the walls of the bedroom had black mold spots in it. There was a sewage smell in the bathroom. I've just checked out after one night because this place is a NIGHTMARE. PS: STAY AWAY!
First time visiting Singapore and I initially booked a room with no window thinking that it's ok because we don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room anyways. My husband, the frugal one in our relationship, took one look at the room and told front desk that we'll pay extra and upgrade to a room with a window. We upgraded and got room 205 which is on the second floor of the hotel (hotel has 3 floors). We got a glimpse of the other rooms on the same floor while they were being cleaned and, in our opinion, our room seemed to be the best in terms of the layout and where it was situated. Our room was facing opposite from the main road and away from the temple next door so it was very quiet. Do yourself a favor, pay a little extra, and book a room with a window. You won't regret spending the extra money. Now, on to the location. This hotel is close to 2 MRT stations - 2 different lines, which makes it super easy to get anywhere around the city. Also, the hotel is within walking distance from alot of great places to eat and drink. I definitely recommend this hotel to all who are looking for a budget hotel in a great location.…
