I was so pleased how Ibrahim and William provided us the best service for a budget hotel like Hotel 81 Sakura. They tried their best to solve every dilemma I had that night. Hotel is not always about the rooms but it is also how passionate the staff are.. Once again thank you to these two staff and the rest...

Great value for money. The room space and bathroom is tight but clean. There was a funny smell which may be coming from the vent, like cigar scent. The street environment is also charming. Very near the airport. Walking distance from the train. Will not hesitate to recommend or book here again :)

Takes around 15 minutes walking distance to reached main road. The staff very helpful. Room is good except for the smell of the cigarette that circulated in the room. In-room facilities include wifi, hot shower, air con, electric kettle, tv, hairdryer and a very small 1m tall cupboard. The room is not sound-proof at all. Noise from the...

I recently got stuck in Singapore due to a smoke haze in Penang. The accommodation booth at the airport recommended this hotel. It was terrible for the price I paid $110AUD. Very small room, noisy, and the bathroom design was extremely dangerous. No shower screen allowed water to completely cover the bathroom floor making it extremely slippery. The hotel was...

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighbourhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighbourhood is packed with colourful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.

“Empathy and kind understanding would be more appreciated than personal vendetta. It's not so much the sweet furnishings but the kind services rendered. In which case, this hotel lacks severely.”
