I stayed 2 nights in this hotel. As per the standard of Singapore expenses, it is considered as good or less. Prompt check in. Small room with toilet, cold/hot water, amenities and 2 bottles of water. Nice view from window. Average breakfast, no juice, second day no bread but only bun and boiled eggs. Hotel not far from mail highlights. Shops, pharmacy and spa are very close.

Nice and cosy hotel in center Singapore, good accommodation near Metro Lavender. Small but clean and comfortable rooms, good breakfast; honest price. The neighborhood is charming and lot of choice of small food places.

Another fantastic 4 nights stay at the J8 thanks to the amazing staff, the great location and the sweet price. I fully agree with Gow's review below ("J8 a Gem in Singapore", March 2023). The staff are lovely. Friendly and very helpful. I stayed only once before, about a year ago, but I was immediately recognized and very welcomed with great smiles as soon as I entered the hotel. The rooms are not large and quite a few do not have windows. However they are cleverly designed. The room I was in was fitted with multi standards socket outlets. Quite useful :) The bed is on the hard side which is what I prefer. The shower requires some precaution as it is not separate from the rest of the bathroom. A clever way to save space and promote water savings too :) The Wifi works great. 15MB download and 20MB upload. Consistently. The breakfast is served in the "Vietnamese" restaurant which is part of the hotel. It is tasty and the staff always patiently accommodate special requests. There are 4 options to choose from and I usually go for the "Bánh mì", a baguette filled with chicken and some lettuce. The location is absolutely great being not only close to a couple of MRT stations but also in a picturesque part of the city with so many food and shopping options around. At the same time the hotel is quiet which is a priority too for me ;-) Price is another good reason to stay in the J8 especially if you are able to book well in advance. I already have a few trips to Singapore planned for the coming year and I will definitely be staying at the J8 ❤️

During my recent one-night stay at J8 Hotel, I was pleased to find that the rooms were immaculately clean. However, they were quite small and furnished with twin beds. The air conditioning unit was rather loud on high fan speed and did not cool the room effectively. Unfortunately, when attempting to contact reception, I was directed to voicemail multiple times. Upon visiting the front desk, I found the receptionist occupied with her phone while the hotel's main line was ringing. Furthermore, the hotel only provided one room card, which was unusual. It is also worth noting that the hotel charges an additional fee for rooms with windows. Nonetheless, the hotel's location near several popular tourist attractions makes it an ideal choice for travelers, as these attractions are no more than a 15-minute drive away. Breakfast was included with the booking and consisted of one dish from the menu accompanied by tea and coffee from a large thermos. Unfortunately, the service at the cafe was subpar, with the staff member displaying rude behavior. Overall, J8 Hotel is a suitable option for those exploring Singapore for the majority of the day.

Stayed here in March 2023 for 2 nights to watch the HSBC women’s world championship golf. The hotel is great, nice location between Lavender mrt and Jalan Besar mrt. It’s so easy to get too. The room was small (single) but that’s what to expect from hotels in Singapore, but bigger than others I have had. The breakfast was a choice of Asian food or a lovely baguette. The reception staff was great and the room was clean, free water and a lovely hot shower. Highly recommended for the price in Singapore. Only a couple of rides away on the mrt from the centre. If coming from Changi airport, it’s easy to get off at Lavender mrt as it’s on the same line. I will use again.

What are the management doing with the profits? The J8 has turned into a tired decrepit old piece of furniture. We were last there in 2017 and it's the same tired facade, except there is wear and tear every where. Dirty walls, worn furniture, botched up repairs. I have no pleasure in not recommending a stay here as you are paying for something that it used to be.
