I would recommend this hotel to all my friends, if they're looking for best view and strategic location Hotel in Singapore. The services from all the staffs was also amazing. At the Sky Lounge area, there's a staff that made us free drinks & chocolate for us while we were enjoying the view from the rooftop. And my room was clean, and has the best view of Marina Bay Sands. Will definitely comeback. Stayed there for 2 nights and everything was perfect, the location is also a BIG plus for us because this hotel is at the heart of Singapore. And the price is also very affordable!

I had a good vibe stepping in. My sister was introduced to this lovely place and so she thought it would be a nice place to renege mummy on mummy's 6th death anniversary. I had such a good impression on the c place and people. I was first and foremost warmly welcomed by Albert and then followed by Amin. The rest of the staff were so friendly and they had their broad smiles. Jesinda, Aya, Qureen, Devan, Chef Lewis. These are the people I came across and they did a good job. It's all about the service😊

We have been staying in this hotel every time we travel to Amsterdam but we will not be coming back here. The room was very tired , the TV didn't work and the bathroom was very small and tired. For the $300 cost per night it was overpriced.

Check-in was miserable. Long queues, and they gave me the wrong room. When i complained, they first said "oh, the booking agent didn't specify any room type." I then had my old-school PRINTED version of it, which i showed them, and it DID indeed specify the room, and then they were like "oh... " and only again after i complained to a manager, they DID magically find a new room. The first room smelled dank and rank, was very humid and musty. The new one, after i complained, was a BIT better (yes, they had de-humidifiers in the rooms, but i guess that didn't help much). I reckon that first room hadn't been renovated since 2000 or more. The new one... was "ooooky". The bathroom had a lot of mold between the grouting and around the tub, but otherwise.. room was passable. Still a bit musty. the TV was older than me. The elevators are under repair (i guess a good thing), but huge wait queues. Breakfast - disaster. Food was starchy, flat, tasteless. The good: - club lounge service: great. It's cold, as they can't regulate the temperature, but Sheila and her crew are GREAT. They are the saving grace of that hotel. - location: fantastic! - craft bar and food outside the front, great shrimp, good prices, great tasting! i can imagine that 30 years ago this was a fabulous property, and with extensive renovation it can be again. Just...not now.

Reception was busy when I arrived, but I was checked in relatively quickly by a friendly receptionist. I was assigned a room in the Peninsula tower; the other tower is called Excelsior, thus the double name of the hotel. The receptionist said that the rooms in both towers are equal in terms of quality and size. The room was small, almost cramped, and screamed 1995 all over the place. It was worn out but clean. The bed was rock hard and gave me back pain, but on request, they brought an extra mattress pad the next day and after that it was okay. Make sure to ask for that if necessary. There was no socket by the bed (who would have needed that in 1995?). The room came with a desk+chair, armchair+coffee table, fridge (was turned off), safe (was broken), A/C (worked fine) and wifi (worked fine). There were two 0.6 L water bottles, replenished daily. The bathroom came with a bathtub and good water pressure in the handheld shower. They had installed a new tap at the sink, and water pressure here was awful, probably because the new tap was designed to save water, or something. Soap, shampoo and bath gel were provided in individual minibottles, which I appreciate as those wall-mounted containers many hotels choose to put up on their bathroom walls to save money are not very hygienic. Shaving and dental kits were also provided. Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:30 and cost 32,30 SGD including taxes. It was an average 4-star buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, basic hot items, low quality cold cuts, fried eggs, and a limited number of Indian and Chinese hot items. There were two pools, the "still" pool and the "fall" pool. The fall pool is right opposite reception and was the busier one of the two. The still pool was always very quiet. Towels are available at the pool or in the gym. The pools were open from 7 am to 9 pm. While the hotel is in desperate need of a total renovation and is not worth its four stars anymore, it nevertheless enjoys an excellent location in central Singapore, close to City Hall MRT and Boat Quay with all the restaurants. There are plenty of shopping opportunites close by, a money changer with fair rates a few steps from the entrance and a 7Eleven across the street. All members of staff were friendly and helpful. While the hotel is far from perfect, this is also reflected in the prices they charge, and I might very well stay here again if the price is right.

Overall stay was OK, here's the recap: Good: staff courtesy, kudos to Housekeeper Ms. Moe, she is very attentive and welcoming. 22 Floor Sky Lounge Team was also very helpful. Thankyou for your excellent service during our stay, you made our stay memorable. Bad: Elevator under maintenance, took 5 minutes to go downstairs which is very time consuming especially while you're in rush.

Overall, everything is okay except the noise outside our room. We had a view from the pool and there were these big fans outside and it makes a little bit noise and you can hear it specially at night when everything is quiet. And I would like to thank AURELIA the room lady that always cleaned our room. She was very friendly and very helpful.

I was disappointed, when trying to book a room for late September, to see no mention on the hotel's official website of what I have been told is a major refurbishment programme starting from mid September of both rooms and public areas with works 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. Poor stuff. Check yourself before you book!
