Boating trip (yacht berthed at RSYC) was enjoyable and very well-organised. Accommodations at Marina Lodge was mediocre. Been assigned to rooms on levels 2 and 3. Noticed the furnishings of Superior Rooms was rather dated and counter staff could not accede to our requests on bed types despite informing them weeks ago. Actual rooms were somehow different from pictures on website. Some of the rooms were served by Rubi (Housekeeping) who was exceptional. She was very pleasant and hardworking and strived beyond cleanliness and ensure that our room was comfortable.
We spent 3 nights in a twin-bedded room at Marina Lodge, the accommodation wing of the Yacht Club. The room was compact, but well equipped ; adequate storage, pleasant views of the marina and harbour; the bathroom had both a shower stall and a tub, with good amenities. The Wharf restaurant serves very tasty food; service can be slow during busy periods, but the ambience is great with pleasant breezes. As residents, we also used the pool and took walks in West Coast Park nearby. There is no breakfast buffet, but many choices for continental, local or full breakfasts. Staff at Reception and Housekeeping were very pleasant and helpful.
Stayed over here for about a week for business in the harbour area. Very nice hotel, great outdoor place to sit and to eat. Food and entourage is great. Nice swimming pool although I have used it, seen diving courses held in it. The restaurant bridge bistro and beacon offers decent food for reasonable prices. Service of the crew was quite attentive. In weekends the restaurant can be quite crowded so book a table in advance.
Been here a few times before and not too bad but on this occasion the restaurant was shocking. Booked the day before and came for pizza, arrived with my friend and we ordered a simple starter at this time no one said the pizza oven was broken. 30 minutes later we ordered a pizza only to be informed at this stage that the pizza oven was not working. Although we were very disappointed at this we were still hungry so we ordered the fritters di Calamri and the Antipasto Di Salumi. Big mistake, the calamari Although advertised as baby squid was like a tadpole with cod batter and full of salt and the buffalo morazzela, always a firm cheese was like a tyre. We asked the very attentive staff if we could speak to the manager but he was very coviently pre occupied in a meeting, he could about 12 feet from us and could not come and here out complaints. If you are a pizza restaurant tell people your oven is not working before they sit down and if you are the manager don't hide.…
My wife and I are staying at RYC Singapore for three weeks while visiting family in Singapore. Management were extremely helpful in arranging a booking during the COVID-19 crisis. We have found the room, an apartment suite, to be very spacious and exceptionally well cleaned. The furnishings, comfortable bed, bathroom, spacious lounge with small kitchenette and excellent aircon make this an excellent choice for our long stay. The fantastic gym and pool are also appreciated. Our package included an excellent and generous daily breakfast. We ate at both the Pizzeria, Italian restaurant and The Wharf on site and were very impressed with the food, staff and fascinating outlook over the busy marina and launch basin. All the staff have been very helpful and friendly during our stay. We are fairly regular visitors to Singapore and wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Singapore now we have discovered this gem. …
Only had 1 night in Singapore and stayed here, located outside the hustle and bustle of the city, would need a car/taxi to get here as there is not near by MRT! Friendly staff and decently sized room!
Solid Asian (Chinese) and Western dining options with the quality levels of a good RSL club in Australia. However, service efficiency and friendliness make this a better experience as well as the view over the local marina. This is really a special experience to enjoy with friends. The Yacht Club is a place to enjoy the facilities at a 3/4 or so fraction of the cost of city center properties: Hotel, Restaurant & Bar. Swimming pool and gym on the property as well. Food is 3*, the ambiance and service levels bring it up to 4*. No reason for a special detour for tourists pressed for time though...
Have been making this my default choice for business trip as my business trips to Singapore doesn’t need me to go into town but just stay close to Tuas & west part of island. With the newly refurbished rooms it is not much different from a good 4 stars hotel in town with 2/3 of the cost, with reasonably good choices of real food and beverages at good price. Plus with limited rooms and club type of exclusive services for members I can enjoy the best balance between price and genuine pleasurable stay over pack full of business agenda. Staffs at the club may not be the 5 star hotel ppl but they are all like good old friends that would tell u how to enjoy the best deal without bleeding your wallet/purse. Enjoying the sea breeze without the tourist crowd is just a bonus and no brainer for me at all. Highly recommended for business travellers. The catch is u need to be a member or know someone who is a member.. P/S Being a sailboat crew (if I may claim) once upon a time, this is better that Marina Bay Sands. exceptionally perfect for the sailors who just want to enjoy good beer and friendly staffs after a sea voyage. What else would u need?!…
Been a member for 2 years Wonderful relaxed atmosphere and the food in both the downstairs and upstairs restaurant is well priced and tasty Kids love the pool and overlooking the marina Staff are really really nice and helpful as well as the kids room which is greta for the kids after dinner
We stopped in for lunch at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club which is located near West Coast Park. We had affiliate membership from our own club and letters of introduction but hadn’t phoned ahead and, since it was a Sunday, they could only issue us with visitor tickets. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what the rules for public access are. Our visitor ticket let us choose to eat in “The Mess”, a comfortable and chillingly air-conditioned bar area with small tables, pool table and tv for watching sports. I think the food was ordered in from the other restaurants onsite. We had a really nice cheow kway teoh and dry beef hor fun with house wine and lime soda. All were excellent though we did request a little more chilli. The staff were really nice and engaging, advising on food choice and being so kind when a glass got knocked over. Eating at the Mess meant we missed out on the views from La Pizzeria at the bridge and beacon bar or at the Wharf but we were able to wander around and admire the view anyway. We liked the look of the place and might organize to stay a few nights onsite next time. It is a little out of the way (in Singaporean terms) and a bit of a walk from the MRT but I think that would be part of its charm.…
