First of all i would like to thank the management to provide us accommodation during this pandemic. 1st day i found the pillow case had some kind of smell where i am not comfortable with it. But they took action by sending fresh bed sheets and pillow case. Food was okay and i had Indian food for few days and changed to Chinese food. Nothing much to complain but i had horrible food on the 10th day, tasteless. When i checked, the receptionist told that the food for quarantine people are outsourced and a little upset they did not take responsibility for the food and its quality. In the end we been charged for the meals together with the accommodations. Internet! Total disappointment, when ever i call the receptionist they give lame excuses that the hotel is full house and high internet usage. I believe now internet and wifi is common service for the hotel guest. And we are depending on Wi-Fi to call or watch some YouTube. We been locked in the room for 14 days and our basic needs as food and Internet is out of the expectations. I still give 3 stars for the room service and the receptionist who assisted me well. And i believe they did good job. Well the management should do something to provide proper hospitality service for the people who away from their home and totally depends on the hotel service where we are staying for 14 days and we cant able to walk out. Katong is a wonderful location in Singapore, not too far from the city center and yet quite convenient if one is hear for short visits. The hotel is quite new, and connected to a mall. The Indigo hotel (part of IHG) is located right next to the Holiday inn Express, hotel guests complimentary breakfast on the lobby level, and the choices of breakfast items is more than enough, its free ;) . Hotel is quite new and there are loads of restaurants and bars along the same street, which appeared to be quite a hip hang out place as well. The room is not very big but very comfortable for one person. It was all the convenience of an Express hotel and sleep quality was very good. I would return for sure.
The Holiday Inn Express is a recent hotel located in the heart of the very nice & pleasant district of Katong. Rooms are not very large but very comfortable and soundproofed. We appreciate the large shower in the bathroom. The breakfast service is satisfactory and the choice is varied. We just regret that there is no swimming pool but you can however go swimming at the beachfront at walking distance.
Excellent location in a quiet and relaxed katong area.You can really stay away from rush of city.You get standard small size room like any other holiday inn express.If you have only one bag then it’s ok otherwise moving multiple bags in small area is a pain, in case you are into a long business trip. Breakfast gets chaotic all times, as i have tried all time slots. At the times there will be noise disturbance, if your room is in the middle and not in corner. Front office staff are rude in particular.On a rainy evening i requested for hotel umbrella and the guy at front desk denied mentioning that he doesn’t any left. I was still in lobby and seen a hotel staff girl go inside and bring 10 more umbrellas for the needy guests.I got one for me with friendly smile......
Had a great stay here with my husband. It's a bit far from town but pretty close to the airport. The area is great with lots of food options and there is a mall right next door. After check in you hardly get any one on one service. I'm not sure it's such a great thing. Breakfast was the best part of my stay.
