I stayed here many times when this hotel was 1-3 years old. Since returning post-Covid, the hotel seems dated and in need of a refresh. The room was very small, the bathroom seemed in need of a renovation, the walls in the hallway were peeling away and the pool area was dated and slightly dirty. That said, the rest of the hotel was fine, the room was clean and it is a very good location. Just disappointing when referring back to previous visits.

Hotel's Favourite
After a 3 night stay at a hotel in Marina Bay we moved to Oasia Downtown for a 7 night stay in a different area. We are so glad we did. It is in an amazing location. Tanjong Pagar still has lots of the old shop houses and many of these are now restaurants etc (Japanese/Korean/Italian/Mexican etc). These restaurants are within 1 to 10 mins walk of the hotel along Tanjong Pagar Rd. In front of the hotel is a little park where locals are walking their dogs and sitting in 4 person swing chairs having a chat, reading a book, etc. Across the rd from the little park is the train station and Guoco Tower that has numerous food outlets - from bakeries through to sit down restaurants. Getting on the train is less than 5 mins from leaving your hotel as just across the rd and down 2 sets of escalators to platform unlike Marina Bay area where you can walk enormous distances through shopping malls and underground link malls to get from the hotel to train. In addition to eating options on Tanjong Pagar rd and in Guoco Tower you have - 10 min walk to Chinatown Food Centre - which we did initially on a Chinatown Food tour with Indie Singapore (highly recommend) but then went back to try more things including the s$3.50 Michelin starred Chicken rice. - Lau Pa Sat - for amazing satay at night - less than 10 minutes walk from hotel - and many other food options day and night - Maxwell Food Centre is 5 mins walk away - more of a lunch destination - many trendy cafes, restaurants and bars 10 mins walk away in Telok Ayer Tanjong Pagar is on the East West line so you can get the train directly to Bugis (where we did another highly recommended walking tour with IndieSingapore), Boon Lay (for a local shopping experience or to get bus to Bird Park), City Hall (for Marina Bay area) and many other places. This hotel is not 5 star but it is absolutely lovely. We had a Club Room that gave us access to the level 21 Club floor for breakfast, coffee/softdrinks and light snacks during day and then canapes/alcoholic drinks 6-8pm. Each evening there was a cocktail of the day for those that wanted alcohol. The coffee was excellent. The breakfast was not amazing but it was ok - and far more enjoyable than the absolutely chaotic experience we had in our higher rated Marina Bay hotel where we stayed for 3 nights before Oasia Downtown. The greenery growing on the building is gorgeous - as are the large outdoor spaces on level 12, 21 and 27. On 21 there is an air conditioned indoor space for Club guests for eating, drinking or just relaxing - but also plenty of outdoor seating (as long as don't take glasses, plates etc near pool). The design of the outdoor space meant that we would often return to the hotel for a rest in the middle of the day when it is really hot and find a shady spot on level 21 that had a cool breeze and enjoy some light snacks (very good little cupcakes often during the day). The service is not 5 star but it is very friendly. We did not have any complaint about any of the staff as all made an effort to be friendly. Our first hotel in Marina Bay was more highly rated but there was zero warmth from the staff. A special mention to Bhawna on the club floor who was particularly friendly - but really all the staff were. Only thing we didn't like were the glass panels in the bathroom - not see through as were semi opaque - but not as private as traditional walls. The only other downside is needing to use multiple lifts to get to your room.- but it gives you the chance to walk through a gorgeous green covered outdoor space on your way to the lift to your room floor so not really a big negative. We would definately stay here again.

We usually stay at Oasia Novena due to their excellent staff, but we’re transferred to the Oasia Downtown for this trip. We were pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces! Ms Kaur, the wonderful manager looked after us and, as always, made time to have a chat with us everyday (thankyou for the handmade bath-bombs and hand cream). The club room staff were again fabulous. Very professional, attentive and kind. A special shout out goes to guest service executives, Bhawna and Xiao Wen for taking excellent care of us every day and for noticing that I was staying away from the seafood canapés. Xiao arranged for an alternate for me every day without having to be asked. Bhawna sourced a truly spectacular apple pie and as usual the snacks during the day were exceptional. The tote bag when we were leaving was also a nice touch. Selene, Letitia and Deshaliry provided a smiling face and excellent service. Thanks also go to Chee for making excellent cocktails during happy hour, again with a smiling face. He was truly excited to try out his new concoctions on us. Our room, overlooking the city was always neat and tidy thanks to Annie and her team. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially the club room. We have stayed with Oasia for years and love that Ms Kaur has instilled such loyalty with her staff - it is rare. She has high expectations of her staff but also encourages initiative. It is lovely to see.

Big thank you to all the staff who was ever too kind to me whilst I was there for a week in September. The staff really added to the positiveness of the hotel, they checked on me throughout my stay including when I was not feeling well. Staff helped organise taxis to go to my location as the Internet service on my phone was not working. The room was spacious and clean, it has a great view overlooking the nearest area. This is close to a MRT station, Starbucks, 7-11, china town, Maxwell centre, all within walking distance. I would come back again and would stay here again.

A great location to explore Chinatown and more. You can walk most of Chinatown from the hotel or explore further via the Metro (which is accessed directly across the road). We booked a room on the Club Floor which gives you access to an exclusive pool and dinning area. Breakfast was ok, offering just a few options however if you wanted a broader option you could have it in the main restaurant. At 6pm there is happy hour for Club Floor guests which included some great canapes and snack items and drinks. A great excuse to chill before heading out to dinner. The staff were wonderful to interact with and very professional. The room was spotless, and unexpectedly big with a great view. We chose this for two reasons one was location and the other was for some quiet couple time - both boxes were definitely ticked with our stay and would love to stay here again.

Great location and amazing staff. My second stay here this year! A super knowledgeable and helpful team. Could not be more helpful, it’s like coming home to a SG family. We brought our car, Oasia has easy parking. Looking forward to their extra healthy menu for club and an end of day head & shoulder massage! Big thank you to the concierge, Serene and Karam for a such a lovely warm welcome back.

My friends and I booked two rooms at the hotel. One King and One Twin. Neither were ready at check in time of 2pm. The King was available at around 2.30. We were not provided a Twin room but a second King. We advised that this was not what we wanted (we are friends travelling together), and had to wait until approx 3.20 for the second room to be available. We were told various reasons for this during our stay. One was that there was a TV fault that needed to be fixed (we werent allowed in the room even though we said we didnt care about the TV). But on checkout we were told this was due to THEIR booking service showing that we booked a King room, even though I had a printout showing I had booked a Twin room directly with their site. the halls were musty. Our room was not serviced one of the days. When we complained the staff member was rude and insinuated it was because we had our 'do not disturb' light on (we didnt). the hallway was been cleaned at 9pm one of the nights. On checkout we were asked my the manager how our stay was and we advised the above. We were provided a small voucher to use downstairs, but we felt if the manager did not ask us specifically then we would have had no recompense. On the plus side the beds were comfortable and we loved the location (across the road from the MRT and close to a Hawker Market) Overall it was a very disappointing stay and am surprised at the good reviews. I will be choosing a different hotel for my next visit.
