Don't believe those half decent reviews - usually coming from high unrealistic western standards. The place is comfortable and location very strategic to most things. I mean, yes you have to walk to stations and everything else but that's what being on budget is all about. You can't have the best location without walking by paying next to nothing which...

Positives: The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Negatives: We had a private room but both private rooms are right next to the two outdoor seating areas, making it a bit noisy. Showers not great either, neither is the breakfast.

The hostel is quite central, walking distance to tourist attractions. The Accomodation is basic but the place is clean, cheap and most importantly the staff is super friendly. I was late for my trip and arrived after everyone has checked out, they let me use the room to have a rest and take a shower at no extra cost. Very...

Eco Hostel was a nice environmentally conscience place that recycles everything except people. The staff was friendly and helpful with finding places and riding the bus/subway system. Good breakfasts of fruit, toast, cookies, and coffee/tea. Good security, close to the metro, banks, laundry, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, but $5000 pesos taxi ride from the bus terminal. But if you want you...

Eco hostel is the worst place I have stayed in, in the 3 months I have travelled around South America. I can't understand why they call themselves eco, unless it's from the leak from the upstairs shower into the kitchen to reuse water to wash dishes. There are notices that no matter what time of the day you can get...

A very good hostel, not as posh as some I have stayed in, including Santiago’s nearby Andes Hostel where I stayed 12 nights. But Ecohostel where I spent one night had the better breakfast, plenty of whole grain cereal choices, fresh bananas and mandarin oranges and rolls. (I lucked out and received a $9/night promotional rate for Ecohostel's 6-bed dorm,...

We arrived in Ecohostel rain-drenched and just having been robbed in the North of Chile - and we were immediately warmly welcomed from all Ecohostel staff! The hostel itself is very clean, the beds are very comfortable, there is hot water all day, delicious breakfast is included (fresh fruits, mueslis, toast, butter, jam, coffee, tea) and there is a well...

I spent some days in ecohostel during my stay in Chile. Hostel is in a safe location, within walkable distance from metro station and heart of the city. Best thing in this hostel for me is probably the beds in dorm..they are really comfortable!

We stayed in a private room next to the barbeque area (room number 8). The room was pretty standard, clean and quite large. We had to put the sheets on the beds ourselves and pay to have a towel. We didn't mind this but it was just a bit strange. The bathrooms are all shared and are perfectly good. There...

We spent a week here over Christmas 2012 in the 8 bed dorm. Not only was the size of the room impressive but the bunk beds themselves must have been at least Queen size! Big and sturdy, not the normal rickety beds you get elsewhere. The room was complete with big, secure wooden lockers, large enough easily for a 60...

“The privates upstairs are great, the front room even has a balcony. The dorm downstairs is a little dark and right off the main room, but I didn't have a problem with noise while I was there since most people seem to hang out in the courtyards rather than inside.”
